CHRISTMAS EVE MORNING IN WEST TEXAS....

I am almost.....ALMOST.....ashamed to even brag on OUR snow out here....
I know, compared to what a lot of areas are getting right now...
our little snow is just a baby.....
**
...but, BY GOLLY....we had a WHITE CHRISTMAS
for the first time in.....well....I can't remember when !!

Some little lighted holly bushes out front took on a
MAGICAL glow with all that snow on them....
I worried that the cords getting wet might cause a short thus causing a
FIRE...
but MR. SWEET assured me that it would be ok.......
**
brrrrr...I was so SO glad that I didn't have to get out at all ....
**

I am thankful that my family all live close so that no one had to be on the highway
because, beneath this tiny snow is the DREADED...
BLACK ICE !!
***
Ya'll stay warm and toasty......and SAFE !

I am linking with SUSAN for OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY

*We had more snow today...not too much but enough!
I think the weather person is saying another snow is headed our way...
AND SOMEONE NOT LONG AGO LEFT
a comment and said, "West Texas never gets snow!"
HA !!

We are eating lots of warm, rib-sticking soups...

Eating the last of the German Chocolate Cake...
Oh, and this COFFEE HOUSE WHITE CHOCOLATE MOCHA
in your hot cup of coffee is good enough to make your eyes glaze over !!

...and needless to say...but I will say it ANYway...

We are keeping a hot fire going all day long in our FRANKLIN FIREPLACE...

O HONEY.....

We used to live in Abilene and get snow every year. Sorry about your spam. Lots of people have been getting it. I'm going to try to get rid of anon comments, too. I use comment moderation, too. Go to setting and then permissions and click on the thing that says comment moderation always.

I'm having serious snow envy for my Texas sisters in the north and west... all we get is rain-rain-rain... maybe a spec of ice here and there... but none of that purdy white stuff!

great post... I'd love some of that great looking soup sitting next to the Franklin stove! Perfect!

Happy New Year BJ! Dixie

Your snow pictures are so pretty. I love seeing the blue sky in the background too in your first photo. The night photos with the lights are pretty too. How do you make the photo have a the appearance of a snow circle around it? It looks so pretty. I'm not too savvy on getting my photos on my blog, that looks very nice. The soup looks yummy too. We've been making lots of that too.
Blessings,
Marcia

Up here, we have lights for indoor and outdoor, but I don't imagine you bother with that given your normal 'no snow' winter?

Now that is beautiful. I can't imagine getting up on a Christmas morning and looking out my window at that sight.

Happy New Year,

I called my post Baby It's Cold Outside too. I guess if we both say it then it really is.
Actually we are doing okay here in B.C.
Your shrubs look so pretty lit up like that. Snow is good for something after all.

BJ these photos are absolutely gorgeous!!!
We have snow again, too. It was just about all gone. Your Texas storm made it's way northeast, overnight and the ground is covered again and still snowing. We don't mind, nowadays, because we don't have to be out on the roads, unless it's an emergency. Well....today must be an emergency!! J is on his way to mail a "care package", chocolate orange and a couple other things, to our friends who are on their way to South Padre for the winter. The other emergency is....there are NO BLACKEYED PEAS, in the house. Now I call that a real emergency, with New Years Day almost here!!

The soup looks so good. I made chili on Monday. We had it again yesterday. Today, I'm using the last of it to make chili mac.

I am going to have to follow you into the no anon. comments zone. I began moderating all comments again over Christmas. I have rejected many since last week. Some were on posts that are three years old!! I am still finding these awful anon comments, while going through my archives. I think you have the right idea about not having anon.

Joni has been through an ordeal with anon. commenters in the last couple days. Another reason to not allow them.

Happy New Year, BJ and enjoy that snow!

I'm so happy you enjoyed your White Christmas and are staying warm by the fire. Even though we never get snow here in my area of Florida, I do love a good, rib-sticking soup.

Happy New Year from our house to your house. We had snow here in Illinois for Christmas. As we speak, outside it looks like a snow globe. It is pretty! I really adore how you framed your snow images.

Congrats on the white Christmas. Since I have lived in the northern part of the US my entire life, snow at Christmas is a must and I'm disappointed when we don't have snow. It makes all of the Christmas decorations glisten like diamonds. Love it.

However, in January I don't want ANY snow but alas we always receive it anyway. Have a wonderful New Year.

Hi BJ! Your snow is pretty and I'm glad you got some. We just drove in from south Texas and there is still snow piled everywhere. Of course, my 17 year old couldn't wait to get in his car and go somewhere. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for safe driving.
