CHRISTMAS BLUES.......

BLUE MONDAY with SMILING SALLY has been a highlight of mine all year...
We have all had so much fun, getting our BLUES together to share with each other.
My thanks to you, SALLY, for always being there, especially on BLUE MONDAYS, for all of us.
**
I wanted to use some of my blue transferware for a tablesetting during this beautiful
CHRISTMAS....
***
***
I decided the blue and white looked pretty snazzy with the RED plates...
HMMM...now, let me see....
I am thinking, "HELLO..... RED, WHITE and BLUE is NOT a new idea ! :O)"
**
Using the white plate beneath with just touches of red is nice, too..
***

RED plate beneath, NO plate beneath and the white one....
all atop a SILVER LINING charger....
I do love me some silver lining...don't you ? of COURSE !!
***
"...it's CHRISTMAS time in the city....."
***
This photo and the bottom one is from last year...
I was using the khaki and creme mats and napkins I won
from that fabulous place we'd ALL like to visit...
A BEACH COTTAGE
...with SARAH running things...DOWN UNDER!!
**

Ya know....I am thinking that ANY pretty dishes can be dressed up for
CHRISTMAS LOVE....
Linking with:
MOSAIC MONDAY because.....well.....I have mosaics...:)
THOUGHTS FROM OVER THE RAINBOW...she even let me link on THURSDAY ! my mistake :)
MET MONDAY..because I transformed a plain, boring table with some CHRISTMAS LUV..:)
HOME 4 THE HOLIDAYS...just because she said I could..:)

*************************
GOSH...I'm having such a good time this year !!

It's so fun to share things with all you fantastic bloggers !
I love you all !!
OOO....

I just made PIONEER WOMAN'S pie crust ...her recipe makes 2...without a doubt, the most flaky, delicious crust I have ever made....and it has an egg in it..AWESOME...so if you are still going to make pies for the holidays and need a good crust recipe, you may want to check this one out!!One of my crusts will be a DOUBLE COCONUT PIE.. the other, a BUTTERMILK PIE..

O! HONEY!!

I keep adding photos....
I just this minute took the BUTTERMILK pie out of the oven....
Those cute little paper CHRISTMAS napkins with peppermints...
"HOLIDAYS ARE MINT FOR FUN AND FRIENDS"....
and, I believe it !!

CHRISTMAS BUTTERMILK PIES freeze like a dream...

I THINK I WILL HAVE PEPPERMINT CANDY AND BUTTERMILK PIE DREAMS TONIGHT...

My, My BJ, I think you could put dirt in a pie plate, use paper plates and plastic forks and spoons and it would still look beautiful and appetizing:) Love all the pictures.... Ho Ho Ho!

All of your china is so pretty and I think it was neat how you mixed and matched it all. So many great ideas and all of them were so pretty!! Love the mosaic too.

Buttermilk pie...gee, I have to get more cookbooks from the South. It sounds delish but totally foreign to me!!

How clever of you to get in all of these events...but you have always been such a fun blogger! Great post, BJ and I wish you a very Merry Christmas!!! :-)

And those pies, oh those pies, I want a big slice right now! I just made a Chocolate Pound Cake that weighs about 10 pounds, but it's so good.

BJ, It is wonderful how you made simple blue transferware look elegantly festive adding varying combinations of red, silver, and white. Wowie! I think my fav was the silver charger, cuz I like me some bling! LOL
As a non-pie baker, I have never made my own pie crust, but maybe I need to check this recipe out. I've never had a buttermilk pie, but it sounds pretty good.... Maybe you would share a recipe?
I gotta learn how to make cool mosaics. I think I am mosaic impaired... You and others are so good at it.
I hope you have a very blessed Christmas with your family and friends, BJ.

BJ, your table is gorgeous. I love your blues transware. What a nice change from all the traditional reds and golds. So fresh and inviting.
You asked about my draperies in the sunporch. They are Duponi Silk, lined and washable. Girl I looked along time to find just the "right" thing to hang out there. I got them last year at Linens n Things. They hang beautifully. I'm not sure if they still have them now.. I hope this helps darling. Thank you for swinging in to say hello. Be sure to pop in any 'ole time.. From our home to yours a Very Merry Christmas.. hugs ~lynne~

BJ, you are all about details and it's those details that add the extra special something to everything you create!

You know what I can't get over? That you ladies all set your tables just to photograph them! That's a lot of work! You'll note that I never play along on these things. I'd rather watch!
