Somebody asked.....

..."Aren't you going to do a Christmas table with your Red, White and Black?"
and.....
I said, "Why, of COURSE I am !"
**
I sat a luncheon table for MR. SWEET and myself, using my same o same o dishes, placemats and flatware...
How neat it is that you can add a little holly....
a candy cane and more candles and....WALLA...you've got CHRISTMASY !
I love that!!
**
I started this table setting off without a cloth...came back, however, and
decided all that black needed a white cloth to soften things up a little...
**
My little tiny vintage pitchers always look pretty...
roses, holly, candy canes....they love to hold any number of things...
I love my little pitchers....
SHELIA, can you really love little, tiny pitchers?
shhhh...she is whispering all the way from the Gulf Coast to West Texas ......
I think she said, "You bet your sweet cream, you can!!"
*O, i just found out that she is on a BREAK and may not be whispering to me, after all...
***
I know this is about the most SIMPLE of tablesettings...
*heavy sigh
**
It's lunch time here, but I turned out all the lights and closed the blinds...
MR. SWEET is gonna think I am feeling frisky or something!!
*blush
what? in the middle of the day....in broad daylight!!
*blush blush.....
***
**
I do like the white cloth better...not that it really makes one bit of difference...
**
A great green salad...a grilled cheese sandwich and chips..
I love all kinds of cheese.......but my favorite is..
PEPPERJACK
**

MERRY CHRISTMAS....
**********************

* NOTE....I am really enjoying my CHEF SANTA, with his CANDY CANE shirt and candy cane in his pocket...I found him last year at HOBBY LOBBY...

NOT ON SALE ! :(

WORTH EVERY PENNY !!
**
*'NUTHER NOTE...
I just found another fabulous Chef Santa and he is ADORABLE...
this tip came from sweet PHYLLIS over at AROUND THE HOUSE..
She said KOHLS.COM has them and I mean, I flew over there so fast, it nearly made me dizzy..
and, THERE THEY WERE...just like she said.
ON. SALE. !!
get this.....$16.00 plus shipping...5 something, I think.
I ordered one so quick...it is a gift for someone but....
shhhh....that someone reads my blog...
i'm just sayin'.....

....this is my KITCHEN CHEF SANTA...some of you have seen him many times....

I just took my LAST CHRISTMAS cake out of the oven...
GERMAN SWEET CHOCOLATE
it will go into the freezer until CHRISTMAS EVE morning, then it
and all the other CHRISTMAS baking will come out of the cold and
be dressed with frostings, glazes, powdered sugar, cherries....
**
O....AIN'T LIFE GRAND !

Tee hee! I get to b e first at something for a change! Ha! Anyway, I loved your "frisky" table, but my favorite was without the white cloth. Don't know why and I might change my mind if I saw it in person, but in the pictures I just thought it was soooo striking and different. Glad you've finished your baking for Christmas. We ate all of ours except for the pecan pie yesterday and now I just have three days to recoup the "losses", but it was a great day so well worth it. I just love your Christmas enthusiasm and decorating skills. It all looks so very pretty and inviting. No wonder your family loves to gather at your house. Loved this blog! Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!

Love you!

bj...sometimes you just leave me at a loss for words! Thank you so much for those sweet words! :) Made me giggle!

I loved everything...SO Christmasy...(in..broad daylight? Now you got me blushing..) Not to worry..I am just jealous! :)

I loved the far off shot over the cakes. I love the closeups..but the distance shot really give us a better feeling for your home. And it really is just that! A warm and cozy home.
I love you back, bj!!

I love the black, white and red. I've decided that there is really a tablescape in almost everything if you just think outside the box a little bit. I'm having a hard time here in Orlando...they have HomeGoods, Pottery Barn, Stein Mart, Crate and Barrel, Ikea...oh my! I want everything!
Merry Merry!

What a lovely festive table! Merry Christmas.

I think of the ubiquitous grilled cheese with the usual America,. But Jack cheese melts as well, and the pepper enhancements will make a fine sandwich! Your abode and decoration flair gives that artistry, but this art is approachable in your wonderful home. A fine visit to west Texas! Merry Christmas to all generations of yours!

Great post, BJ! Very simple and perfect for a Christmas lunch (which looks delicious!) Now, I think my hubby would see the sandwich and put all thoughts of friskiness aside. Men!

I love everything but I am feeling a bit of panic that none of those Santa's are available at Kohls, so I really must rush over. I'll let you know if I get one!!

Marry Christmas to you and yours, sweet lady!! :-)

BJ... first let me address the spam... I have my blog set approve all comments that post after 3-days... the spam usually hits old posts... but then, I started getting it on newer posts... so I changed my blog to only accept registered users which also included OpenID (which means the person can post under anything except "Anonymous". It's a pain for the Anonymous users, but it eliminates the need for most of your readers to do the word verification... and virtually eliminates the spam. You might give it a try.

Now.. to the beautiful tablescape... I just love it. I'm stealing the candycane idea for my Christmas buffet table! You have the most wonderful ideas!

Christmas Blessings. Dixie

BJ You cracked me up, you frisky little gal! Your b/w table is elegant and so pretty! I live in black, so how could I not like this table! I love the Kohl's santa and am ordering it. I saw it tonight - cannot remember where, but he must be popular in blog land.
I love your Santa and of course, like the mosaics. How DO you do this? I am mosaic impaired- I went to Picasa and screwed it up so bad. I need a tutorial bad! LOL
I am saving ideas too. I think I'll start making things in Jan. to be ready for next Xmas. I lost 4 weeks due to this darn head injury. I told Mr. S tonite that I'm starting in Oct. next year. LOL
Hope you are enjoying a great holiday season. Thanks for being a wonderful bloggy friend.
lotsa hugs, Sue

BJ, your tablescape, your Santa, your home...it all looks wonderful! Your table reminded me that I have red and white polka dotted placemats that I never get out. Better take care of that!

Your lunch looks good too. I just grated up a bunch of pepper jack tonight for our tostadas. We had tostadas and pinto beans. Doesn't that sound good?

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas.

Sending you hugs,

Stacey

Hi BJ!
That black and white and red tablescape is really pretty and really Christmassy too! And that's a good idea to do all that baking then glazing and frosting and sugar dusting later! I think I'm gonna do that too. I'm making another red velvet cake like the one I made for my massage therapist! I think I'll make it square tho and just grind up a candy cane and dust the cream cheese icing last minute. thanks for the awesome idea!
