TABLE IN THE LIBRARY....and one of my heroes...

MOST of you know that I live in a very humble, smaller house that was built in the '50's.... SO.....when I refer to the library, I am actually referring to the end of my large (20x34 ft.) living room that has the complete wall of book shelves that I love so much, I could marry them. !!!
**
***

I am using my estate sale dishes and flatware by Oneida.
***
I am using a throw in dark golds over my table....
***
Fabulous, faux hydrangeas in a dark golden brown...
a little fat carved birdy... and some favorite books
***
Any fallish table setting I have will probably have the little tea light birds from ARTIE...
I love them and they seem to look great with any kind of setting.
If you've not been by to see Artie lately, you should stop by. He is sprucing up his beautiful home and you will love seeing all his photos....He's been sick but feeling better and I know he'd love for you to come by and say hi.. Would you kindly tell him I sent you over with a big bowl of Chicken Soup ? :O)
***
A lot of textures going on here....
***

That might look like a rough linen napkin but....it is actually a small piece of burlap..
and it is for LOOKS only...
Noooo, never would I make you wipe your tiny mouth with BURLAP !! Or even your he-man mouth...
O, the roughness of it all !!
***

While sipping wine and thumbing through my wonderful, new
SOUTHERN LIVING magazine,
I..............whoa !!!

Look who has not 1, not 2, not even 3 pages in this classic magazine,
BUT A 4 PAGE SPREAD in one of the most reverend magazines around!!

None other than REE...THE PIONEER WOMAN !!
O, I tell you....she is one of my cookin' heroes!!
***
O, look....there's MARLBORO MAN...
and just look at how beautiful REE is.....
this girl's got it all....looks, personality and talents galore.
***
Have you ever tried any of her recipes?
I have !! SEVERAL, to be exact....
And, may I just say that EVERY single one has turned out soooo good.
The stuffed jalapenos are to die for ! REALLY !!
and....she has a chocolate cake recipe on her blog that will make you burst into singing
GLORY GLORY HALLELUJAH !!
***

Go pick up a Southern Living magazine and read her cuteness...
You'll be glad you did.
O....and stop over at her blog regularly for some delicious recipes and see
what an amazingly funny personality she has...!
I just love her....and you will, too !

30 DAYS OF THANKSGIVING
I am thankful I find joy in the things that I have. I love playing with my dishes...
I love the magazines I am blessed enough to be able to purchase....
I am thankful that I don't have to have EVERYthing that I think I want in order to be happy.
"Not one shred of evidence supports the theory that life is serious!"

I am linking with SUSAN at BETWEEN NAPS ON THE PORCH for TABLESCAPE THURSDAY and just can't wait to see all the awesome tablescapes !!! All you bloggers are so creative and great at playing with your beautiful tables and dishes !!

bj...again..you discribe me exactly! I drag one day and zoom like a house on fire the next. Well..at least I will soon! Our little 50's house sounds like yours! I, like you am so grateful to be able to do the things I can do..shop a bit..play with the things I have collected and plump the pillows as often as I like.
I keep some things a long time and other things get recycled to Goodwill and the new comes in. Are we lucky or what, bj! God is good! :)

Isn't it wonderful that we can be so happy in our little houses living on social security and playing with our dishes? When we first started out I never dreamed we would own a house without a mortgage. I count my blessings everyday - obviously you do too. Take care, Sally

Oh I love your table. It is just gorgeous. Love the throw as a tablecloth, what a great idea. Your centerpiece is wonderful. My home is very humble and small too, but I love to see someone make even a small space lovely and you certainly have. So beautifully done. Hugs, Marty

Oh...I am feeling a theme here--burlap, birds and books!! ThE 3 b's!! I love it. I was telling my hubby about the burlap thing going on in bloggingville and his response was: "BURLAP!!???" then he went on to say how rough it was...so I had to laugh at your post.

I love this room of yours--wish you would show more of it!! It looks so inviting!!

(you asked about my wreath--I purchased it and then I add to it at times and subtract from it)

You always have things looking so nice. I have my Southern Living sitting here and I haven't had time to really look at it yet. I'm excited to read the article because I'm seeing all the articles about her book, yet I wasn't familiar with who she was. Thanks for pointing it out. Usually I read it cover to cover immediately, but I've had a houseful of company for 2 weeks and haven't gotten to it.

First, I would give my pinkie finger for a wall of bookshelves. Ooooo, do I envy you and it takes oodles to make me envious of anything or anyone☺

Yes, life is magical isn't it that we really don't need a whole lot of things to make us enjoy the best thing - living!

I just LOVE your attitude, B.J.!! I smile whenever I read your posts. :D

Your chubby little bird looks so sweet, peeking out from under the hydrangeas. Adding the books really set the tone for the location in the *library*. Very cozy tablescape!

I'm off to find out more about the 30 days of Thanksgiving. Thanks for the tip.

Fabulous colour scheme and testing out thanksgiving myself this weekend with a bit of bird theme as turkeys are not so common in these parts.

Your table is full of creative inspiration and how cool to see Bree in print.
