I didn't get to make mine...Mr. Sweet suggested I wait until next week and make one for Thanksgiving..
OK...that makes sense..
ANYWAY...I had so many wondering what in the world this MILLIONAIRE PIE was all about...
This photo is from the net...
There's lots of recipes out there for this MAGNIFICENT pie...but a lot of them call for EGGS...
Since this is a NO BAKE pie, I don't like the idea of having RAW eggs in it...
The following is a recipe that I've used for a long time....
**
MILLIONAIRE PIE (this makes 2 pies)
*********
2 CUPS MANDARIN ORANGES
1-20 oz. can of crushed pineapple, drained
1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 cup coconut
1 can Eagle Brand Milk
1 large carton of whipped creme or Cool Whip
**
Mix all together, pour into 2 graham cracker crust and chill until able to slice.
***********************
NEXT...
I WON A GIVEAWAY....
from sweet VALERIE at GLIMPSE OF MY WORLD
**
I JUST LOVE THEM, VALARIE...
THANK YOU SO SO MUCH..
**
**
The following are just cottages and rooms that I like....A LOT...
**
I want a bath tub just like this...and I want some stone walls...and a cute little window like that...
but mostly....
I WANNA LOOK LIKE CAMERON DIAZ !!!!!!!
bwaaaaaa
**
It's decorated, yes...
but...
it doesn't LOOK decorated...know what I mean? ...it has that lived in look that is so warm and inviting...
and so full of personality and charm...
but...
I KNOW this one ISN'T lived it...
it's from a movie...THE HOLIDAY, I think is the name of it...

I love this and it belongs to KATHY at SWEET UP-NORTH MORNINGS...
Her guest room....wouldn't you LOVE being a guest of hers...I sure would.
Beautiful room, Kathy.
If ya'll haven't been over lately, you should go by and see her Christmas decorating for this whole month and next. She has the most awesome ideas !!

I just saw an idea there today...muffin tins and sparkly candles...check it out...
Will ya tell her bj said "Hey" ?

**
(there's those GEICO eyes again, JUSTINE)
Funny how we can fall in love with a scroungy, little forelorn table...but ....I did !!
**
**
I must tell you....I had a virtual RUN-A-WAY when I came across this adorable table setting.
That is one of the cutest breakfast tables I've ever seen....
She says the dishes came from TJMAXX...gotta make a trip out there today...for sure !!
This cutie belongs over at AROUND OUR HOUSE
She has a darling blog that you will want to visit...such cute ideas..
again, would you kindly say bj sent you over ?
*
I AM IN LOVE !!
There's just something about words written on dishes....
**
PAT over at BACK PORCH MUSINGS is always coming up with the prettiest ideas.
Her cottage is just full of prettiness...
I just especially love this scene....
actually...I REALLY want this whole thing IN MY HOUSE !
******
Now, if I am remembering right, THIS pretty room is one out of
PENNY's (COMFORTS OF HOME) inspiration files.....
WHEW....it is one pretty room...
It inspires me, too...I just don't seem to have enough rooms to decorate the way I'd like...
PENNY is redoing her beautiful new home and you just HAVE to go over and see things like....
black and white tiled floor...
Country French master bedroom in the making...
a bath tub that will make even CAMERON DIAZ jealous...
**
I have to stay away from Penny's site for awhile...I have to stay on my knees and say a lot of prayers about
coveting before I can go back over there....
**
This quaint but not so little, kitchen, is also from that movie...THE HOLIDAY, I think is the name ....
When my 'ship comes in', I will have a fireplace in my kitchen !!
I'm beginning to think that boat has already sailed, tho !!! :O(
*************
The kitchen, on your left, is out of BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS...
I noticed it because of the butcher block counter tops...
I've got the butcher block Formica that I've had for over 24 years...now, that's a long time!!
Since there's no way we can afford new counter tops, I've decided that
I just love mine to pieces...
*
Yep, I was tickled to see this photo...and, yes...... I KNOW hers is REAL...mine is FAUX...
SHELIA, can you love faux butcher block counter tops??
I say "you bet your local meat market, you can!!"
and besides, I think my kitchen looks a little like the BH&G kitchen...well....I do !!
**
**
At least I am very glad to know that butcher block counter tops are back "in"...(daughter tells me they were never really "out"...just that granite and granite look-alikes are all the rage).
I say the Formica butcher block IS out but.....that's ok with me...
I have lots more on my plate than to sit around and fret about my counter tops being
"NOT IN !! "
good grief !
**
If you will notice the nicks on the side of my counter...bar stools with arms hitting it...
We can't figure out just how to mend it...so...we just call it CHARACTER and let it go at that !
:O)
30 DAYS OF THANKSGIVING
I am thankful when I am able to get my priorities straight....
and pray that HE will guide me in choosing those priorities wisely.

Well, I for one like character...so nicks are a good thing! :-) My body has lots of "character," too. LOL
Love all the pics and inspiration rooms you showed, BJ. Thanks for the pie recipe...I may give that one a try real soon...it looks completely sinful!
Oh Boy! That Millionaire Pie looks divine!!
I love all of your inspirational photos...including the one that I inspire too :-).
Your home is one of the most warm, cozy and inviting homes in all of blogland. I love, love, love your kitchen! LOVE the B&W table your hubbie made. Love your red and white quilt...
And you know what? Your butcher block counter is alot less maintenance than the REAL one!
Thanks for including me in your blog. I just love your too pieces BJ!
xoxoxo
Penny
Where to start...hmm, maybe with telling you that if you find a way to look like Cameron, I'll buy some from you! I also loved the lettered dishes and the entire table setting. I haven't had that pie in decades, I'd forgotten how good it is.
Seriously, you sent me a good message. I do fret about my countertops. There is absolutely nothing wrong with them...my house is 12 years old and I didn't pick them out. They aren't solid surface (granite, quartz) and they are very blah in my opinion. I'm going to quit worrying about them...and be grateful to have a house with a big kitchen, instead of focusing on just how much all that granite would cost!
I gots character. :) I appreciate your words all the time but today especially. That kitchen counter thing helped me a lot. As does your creativity and all. and ooooooh! That pie looks really good. I'll have to make one! Thanks!
Hi BJ,
The pie sounds cool and refreshing! And hey ... it has fruit ... and nuts ... so it's good for us ... practically health food, right?
The inspiration photos are appealing as well. BJ, I like YOUR kitchen much better than the Better Homes and Garden one. It looks cozy and has your special touch. I like all the accessories and how they're arranged. Did my little eye spy glimpses of Mackenzie Childs? ;)
Have a great weekend!
Warmest regards,
Bill
Must try that pie! Love all the links you put in your post!
What nice pictures bj. I love them all. Thanks for introducing me to some wonderful new blogs too. I'm looking forward to visiting these too.
Blessings,
Marcia
Hi BJ, you always make me want to cook and decorate:) I am making that cake for Thanksgiving. It is sure to be the favorite! Love all the pictures you show in your blog, but that little red table is my favorite... every time you show it and I never tire of seeing! Love to all and have a blessed day!
Hello from a nosy old bag in Norfolk, England! I Googled something, can't recall what now, and several blogspots came up, including yours. I had to have a look, and then had to tell you I LOVED your choice of photographs.
Bye from Maggie...

I love all these pics BJ, and for the record, I would choose yur kitchen over the BHG picture, no lie! I love the rooms in the the movie "The Holiday". It's a really good movie and one we like to watch every Christmas now. If you havent seen it I would recommend it:>)
OK, your Geico eyes are just too scary. LOL
I love all these wonderful pictures, and I too love the kitchen from the movie. I need a bigger tub though. Great post.
What a great post bj. I love the movie The Holiday and don't think I wouldn't love living in that little cottage. Your kitchen looks just like the one for BH&G, it does! That pie looks sooo good, would love to have some with my morning coffee!
Hi BJ. What a fun post today. I love all the cottages you featured. The Holiday is one of my favorite movies! It's so cute and that little cottage is breath taking. It's terrible when you are watching a great movie and the pretty house is distracting. :)
Your pie looks yummy too. I made a buttermilk pie on Monday and then told my family that there would be no more dessert until Thanksgiving. I hope we can stick to it...we like something yummy on the weekend. :)
great pictures and a beautiful cake!
wish you a sweet weekend!
justyna
Just loved looking at all your rooms for inspiration. And we have something else in common beside our initials, I have faux butcher block counter tops for 30 years now. Ah well I never have been into trends just go with what I like, and some times what I can afford! lol
Have a great day. I am copying your recipe too, thanks!
Wow BJ..You are one busy girl...I just recieved a visitor saying you sent her over so I skip over here and low and behold there's my Guest bedroom!!! Humbled.... again.... The Holiday is one of my top fav. movies. I watch it at least once a month...I adore your little table and will definately be trying the pie with NO calories Lol!!! I loved the word dishes too! Great post and Thank You my friend...Your more then welcome to come and stay in our Guest room anytime!!! Wouldn't we have fun! xoxo~Kathy @ Sweet Up-North Mornings...
LOL, I read this and giggled and laughed and longed for and went right back up to that pie...sigh...fun post BJ
Sandi
What great inpiration you've shared today. Is the tub photo from "The Holiday" too? I'm not familiar with it but would love to see the rest of that little cottage.
I'm finding that the longer I blog the more I can keep the "coveting" under control. It's nice knowing I can visit all these beautiful rooms and tablescapes whenever I need a fix!
I am really excited to see what Penny will do with all of her old things in her new house. It's so fun watching that process. She is such a wonderful lady too.
Hugs,
Dawn
Oh, I saw those wonderful Christmas pillow slips over at Kathy's and fell in love myself! That pie has my name written all over it. I like the bathtub too. But don't ya think Cameron looks a little "scrunched-up" in it? Looks a little short.
Brenda
Wow, I feel so humbled that you would feature two pictures of my breakfast setting on your blog, you are just always so nice and generous with your words and deeds, I sincerely thank you for your kindness...I love the tablescapes and I adore all the pictures you featured especially that bedroom with the big fireplace, wow, I could put my bedroom twice in there and still have room for a dinner table lol...I have tile countertops, they are the color of the creme stripe in the wallpaper, I try not to like them, but I have learned to also love them, they are soft and beautiful to me...hugs and thanks again...Thanks for the pie recipe, I must try that...
That pie looks scrumptious, BJ, and the inspiration rooms do, too!
XO,
Sheila :-)
And BJ... that red table is as cute as can be as is YOUR house!
