THE TASTIEST DAY OF THE WEEK...

THANKS TO GOLLUM for the tastiest day...
TODAY was one of those days when I didn't have one, single thing ready for our dinner...
We had worked all day in the yard...mowed, worked in the flower beds....
worn our sweet selves smooth OUT...
**

I had thawed a package of hamburger meat...so...what else to do but make a quick casserole..

Now, Mr. Sweet and I both love casseroles...just about any kind. This one was onions, green chilis, Cream of Chicken soup and a can of Tomato soup...and egg noodles.

***

Potatoes, washed, cut into cubes and boiled in their jackets...then buttered..and the green peas are the ones in the steamer bag...we aren't very fond of frozen English peas...we like the ones in the can the best...

Of course, I didn't have a dessert but.....see those cupcakes? RED VELVET, from a luncheon I gave for a friend. When I made the cupcakes, I made enough to freeze a few for us....and the icing, too.
Those and a little bowl of FRUIT COCKTAIL made a fabulous ending to a good, down home, old fashioned meal....
***
I hope everyone will visit GOLLUM'S...and see all the good things on her table and others waiting to show you what good cooks they are....
THANKS for coming by to see me...

You sure came up with a yummy meal when you didn't even have anything planned. I think a good cook can whip up just about anything in a pinch and you just proved it!
Have a wonderful weekend.

Your dinner looks delicious!
I would be hopeless partcipating in this...I'm just the laziest cook, often making a huge pasta dish that lasts us for three days, just so I don't have to think about cooking every day. Thank heavens hubby loves leftovers!

Sandi

Good morning,
Yes, we could make that for you in vinyl. We'll be emailing you this morning about size and what you are wanting for the space. I think it would look awesome! I may do that in my kitchen too.

I just spent a great deal of time catching up on all your posts I missed since I last visited. That table cloth is so sweet and I think I may have to love roosters and get a few. I loved the red and white checked floor on Redensday. I am getting white and black but wow that is really cute too. I love sitting down to that home made family meal. Coming to visit you is like going window shopping at all my favorite places. Great blog, good job!

What a great meal! After a hard day of working in the yard, home cooked meals are the greatest.

I love your tablecloth!!! It really would look good in my kitchen! I may have to get me one. I'm such a copycat, but isn't that part of blogging?

Thanks for visiting me the other day. I just don't seem to have much time for blogging anymore. Hopefully I'll get back at it soon.

Hugs,
Cyndy
