THANKS TO GOLLUM for the tastiest day...
We had worked all day in the yard...mowed, worked in the flower beds....
worn our sweet selves smooth OUT...
**
I had thawed a package of hamburger meat...so...what else to do but make a quick casserole..**
Now, Mr. Sweet and I both love casseroles...just about any kind. This one was onions, green chilis, Cream of Chicken soup and a can of Tomato soup...and egg noodles.
***
Potatoes, washed, cut into cubes and boiled in their jackets...then buttered..and the green peas are the ones in the steamer bag...we aren't very fond of frozen English peas...we like the ones in the can the best...

Of course, I didn't have a dessert but.....see those cupcakes? RED VELVET, from a luncheon I gave for a friend. When I made the cupcakes, I made enough to freeze a few for us....and the icing, too.
Those and a little bowl of FRUIT COCKTAIL made a fabulous ending to a good, down home, old fashioned meal....

I hope everyone will visit GOLLUM'S...and see all the good things on her table and others waiting to show you what good cooks they are....
THANKS for coming by to see me...

Sounds wonderful! It is nice to have a frozen desert, all ready for a quick dinner after a hard day of work!
Now this is the best kind of meal to come home to!! I love your new banner...and those red polka dot dishes are gorgeous.
I'd have done takeout after working in the yard all day :)This looks like a casserole I used to make as a young bride--I'l try it! ps--thanks for getting the Deck the Halls button!
Oh, Dear BJness! This casserole looks so good! Now don't you slop the food on my table cloth! :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
You sure came up with a yummy meal when you didn't even have anything planned. I think a good cook can whip up just about anything in a pinch and you just proved it!
Have a wonderful weekend.

Hi Jean - Kim here - as in Jess & Bryan's step-monster Kim. All I can say is, OH my goodness, I LOVE those red polka-dot plates. I WANT them!!!! Cute, cute tablescape!
That casserole looks wonderful, I LOVE that sorta stuff. Just give me a bunch of noodles and tomato sauce and some spiciness and I'm happy.
What time is dinner at your house again???

Your dinner looks delicious!
I would be hopeless partcipating in this...I'm just the laziest cook, often making a huge pasta dish that lasts us for three days, just so I don't have to think about cooking every day. Thank heavens hubby loves leftovers!
Hugs,
Sandi
Im soooo hungry and this looks yummy.
Beautiful table! You came up with a delicious looking meal.
freezing cupcakes for later, it's a good thing:>)Mr Sweet is a lucky guy to have a wife who can whip up a great meal in no time!
Good morning,
Yes, we could make that for you in vinyl. We'll be emailing you this morning about size and what you are wanting for the space. I think it would look awesome! I may do that in my kitchen too.
That is so amazing that you could whip that casserole up! Everything sounds deliciouc and love the polka dot dishes...

BJ, your blog just gets prettier and prettier by the day. Your nest letters are so cute.
I just spent a great deal of time catching up on all your posts I missed since I last visited. That table cloth is so sweet and I think I may have to love roosters and get a few. I loved the red and white checked floor on Redensday. I am getting white and black but wow that is really cute too. I love sitting down to that home made family meal. Coming to visit you is like going window shopping at all my favorite places. Great blog, good job!
The Raggedy Girl
Well, bless your heart for still cooking after working the yard all day. I would have been ordering a pizza, but I would've loved to have those cupcakes in the freezer!
Thank heavens for the freezer! I love when I can throw a quick dinner together!
Take care,
ButterYum
What a wonderful pick-up/pantry meal. Your tablescape, as well as the food itself, makes your meal look very appealing. I hope you are having a wonderful day.

For somebody who didn't have anything to put on the table for dinner, you sure came up with a delicious meal! I love those new "steam in the bag" veggies! laurie
What a great meal! After a hard day of working in the yard, home cooked meals are the greatest.
I love your tablecloth!!! It really would look good in my kitchen! I may have to get me one. I'm such a copycat, but isn't that part of blogging?
Thanks for visiting me the other day. I just don't seem to have much time for blogging anymore. Hopefully I'll get back at it soon.

Cyndy
