SOMETHING NEW and .....FRENCHY.....!!

I AM linking with SUSAN at BETWEEN NAPS ON THE PORCH for
TABLESCAPE THURSDAY !
Please take time to go by and see all her pretties and the others waiting to show you theirs, as well....
You'll be so thrilled that you did ...
Thanks for coming by Sweet Nothings !
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OOH LA LA...
When I saw this BEAUTIFUL Country French tablecloth in the WILLIAMS-SONOMA catalog...
I. HAD. TO. HAVE. IT.....!!!
****
To be very honest here...this TABLESCAPE post is all about my new TABLECLOTH...
:o)
The above photo is from their website...
I just WISH I had those wide plank real wood floors!!
BUT...back to the cloth....do you like it ??
**
I HOPE YOU DO LIKE IT, 'cause it is lookin' mighty handsome in my
COUNTRY FRENCH DINING ROOM....
YES, MA'AM...I am loving it to absolute pieces !!
***
It brings out all the other french golds in the room...
the little wooden rooster, the silk flowers in the french mustard and white metal vase...
(ooo, and see those ole brown chairs...*shhhhhh....i am trying to convience Mr. Sweet that they need to be painted a beautiful, French Black...he never says, "No"...just rolls his eyes...you know what i'm talking about ..)
****
I am lovin' the way my vintage, golden flatware goes with this cloth...
When I ordered it, I didn't think how great they would look.
NOW...I've just ordered the napkins that should be married to this tablecloth.
They will be in next week sometime..
Maybe by then, I will have come up with a famous frenchy centerpiece....
any ideas ?????
***
The blues in the tablecloth looks great with my french blue secretary and the thrifted blue and white rug beneath my long table...
**
...and, well, I am totally and forever in love with these sassy roosters around the bottom of this fabulous cloth....I am just flat SO proud of it...
My good sister friend, MONA, got the beautiful RED one, just like this. Now, she is just as proud of her's as I am mine....we decided that it didn't take much to make us olden gals happy!! :>)
O, and the reds in this tablecloth?....... GREAT with the red hutch...
**
I don't have any new dishes to play with here but I just had to do something so I could show my newness!!
**
OOO, and I would NEVAH invite you over without giving you a treat...
THIS time it MUST be...
french....
**
SOME more of those fabulous and magnificent BEIGNETS...
LITTLE FRENCH DONUTS, covered in powdered sugar
**
O, dear friends...I used the very LAST of this delightful mix that Beautiful Daughter brought to me from
NEW ORLEANS, LA.
She says they serve them at Cafe' Du Monde
..the Original French Market Coffee Stand..
located in the French Market since 1862...
and that they are BEST when served with CAFE' AU LAIT...
This mix can be ordered on line...www.cafedumonde.com
**
I didn't have Cafe' Au Lait today so I am serving good ole DUNKIN DONUT coffee,
HOT with a large scoop of Pure Vanilla Ice Creme...
~~
OOO, and I KNOW this Black and White Mackenzie-Childs is NOT french...
but...I am thinking the french use anything PRETTY that they have...
and....this is what I have to serve you on today.
~~~
BON APPETIT' !

(I hope Appetit is spelled right..that's the spelling on the box from New Orleans and that's good enuf for me!)

Hi BJ,
You absolutely did the right thing when you ordered that charming tablecloth! It's colorful and, at the same time, understated. You've done a great job accessorizing it ... particularly with those sugar sprinkled "sweet somethings" you're serving on that fantastic MC tiered serving dish!

Great job ... as always!

Oh! I love your tablecloth! Maybe you could get a few thrift store chairs and paint them black to use for a while until your husband gets accustomed to seeing the black?

What are you using as a magazine rack in your dining room? Is it a window? Looks great!

I would be in BIG trouble if I got my hands on a Williams Sonoma catalog, that place is dangerous to my pocketbook! But it is so worth it, your tablecloth is beautiful and it blends perfectly with your decor.

Tell your hubby that painting those chairs is cheaper than buying slipcovers! That'll silence him! ;-)

All the best,
Anne
