RAINING and SWINGING...two of my favorite things.

I am linking to RUBY TUESDAY and with
**

About 5 am, the thunder, lightening and HARD rain awakened me..
I jumped out of that soft, warm, snuggly bed....
knowing I didn't want to miss A SINGLE DROP...
**
Right out to the porch I went....and may I just say that it was COOL out there....
COOL, temp wise...
and, WAY COOL because it was raining....
***

I knew right away that this was another morning on the porch ...
breakfast in the rain...
It doesn't get much better than that for me..
***
GRAVY !!
GOOD GRIEF, but I love it ! So does MR. SWEET...
We don't eat it very often at all but every now and then, I just seem to
wake up hungry for it.
and....sausage sure goes good with gravy.
***

Our paper was stuck into a plastic bag that morning so I am sure the
paper boy knew something I didn't.....;>)
**
I've been just busy enough that I hadn't paid any attention to the weather...
***

Can you see that those leaves are wet?

I love it !! Yes, I do!

This is a pretty neat olden tray that I'm using on this morning.
EBAY, of course!!
**
I am thinking that this is more of a coral red rose...but...RED, nevertheless !!
***

Here comes the sun...
What a fabulous rain we were blessed with.
***

What a wonderful way to start my day...
GOD'S blessing of a most needed rain...
then GOD'S sunshine to nourish both body and soul...

coral red roses growing in my garden.....
**
.....a good cup of DUNKIN' DONUT coffee and
sweet orange juice served in that cute little
crystal champagne glass.......
and a newspaper that is DRY,
due to the thoughtfulness of our sweet paper boy !

AIN'T LIFE GRAND !!

Oh BJ what a beautiful morning. I so love listening to the pitter patter of the rain on the guttering, and I love the cool breeze and fresh smell that it brings with it. I could sit out there all day just listening to the wonderful sounds of nature during the rain. It brings out the best in everyone, including God's creatures. Your little tray looks so devine, and I love gravy on toast, you are my kind of gal. I have been a dunker all my life. Thanks for sharing sweetie. Such a wonderful post. Country hugs, Sherry

Ah, you've done it now, Beej!

Thanks for AKK the good feelings you give this ex-West-Texan!
(Thanks, too, for the continued support ((on your side-bar)) for George W. and Laura!)

Came by to see your blues and you have already posted your red. And some darn good food there.
I know you guys had a great time fishing, hanging upside down, and downing some pizza. FOOD, all I see is food and I'm trying to cut back.

A fine gravy is a great thing, I still try to whisk a gravy, but am learning the proper proportions of fat and flour.

A wonderful looking breakfast is more of a treat when consumed in the outdoors, and especially in your beautiful homestead!

It never rains in Southern California..as the song goes... we can dream. It has been so hat here..but we stay inside most of the time.

I love your post, bj, so inviting and cozy. "Cozy" should be your middle name! :) I just came from having lunch with my daughter Mary, and when I saw that food all laid out on the cute tray...I could have eaten again.
It looks wonderful!

Hi BJ!

I am laughing so hard! Not at this post but the "red hutch" post! I've been training for a new job, that has about worn this old brain out, and haven't been visiting much the last couple weeks. Plus your email about the post somehow went in my spam file and I just found it! What a cafaffle (sounds like Kay & rhymes with waffle) Any way I found the post and FOFL while reading it!! I really really needed a good laugh to start the day and you blessed me with one sweet BJ. All things work for the good!! But I must say it was fun getting a moment of glory over the awesome hutch that Rhondi has LOL!

Love this post about your breakfast in the rain. I can just imagine sitting there on your porch and the thankfulness you must have felt.

Big hugs! You're a DOLL! Sherry

Hi B.J, Happy RT!
I can't decide which I like best, the rain (we finally got a little over here this part of Texas), your front porch, or the breakfast which looked soooooo good.
So I'll settle on the front porch with breakfast included.
Thank you for peeking in on my youngest granddaughter. Your granddaughter is quite cute too, how good did she get at fishing? I know she had a good teacher.

It is indeed and I love the way your porch looks. We had some much needed rain yesterday afternoon.
I like gravy pretty much myself, Honey Bear likes it more than me. I made some earlier this summer to have with tomatoes at breakfast. Does that sound weird? Well, I grew up eating tomatoes and melon with gravy in the morning.
I love me a swing. I'm wondering if there is room for one on the small front porch here at our new house. We had one of those with the frame, several years old so we left it when we moved. I've spent many a time in the swing on Mother & Daddy's porch while it rained. Thanks for giving me that memory.

Only someone who also lives a drought-ridden state can truly understand the excitement we feel when those drops first start coming down! We finally had a bit almost everyday last week, but now we're back to waiting for more.

I heard the plants in the yard getting excited also, but now their back to their pitiful looking selves.

BTW, breakfast on the porch looks lovely, still a bit too humid here in Florida, but soon…

Summers Over — Not!
