COUNTRY ROMANCE DINING...

My thanks to SUSAN at BETWEEN NAPS ON THE PORCH
for her faithful way of bringing such joy to all of us that
"still love" to play with our dishes.
Be sure to check our Susan's dining table and all the other sweeties that are sharing their tables with us today.

Thanks so much for stopping by my place. I do appreciate it.

I wanted to play with my vintage, estate sale creme ware today...
my silk flowers are displayed in a vintage, Aunt Lillian pitcher.
I know FOR A FACT that you can love faux flowers 'cause SHEILA told us so...and I do believe her!! :)

I just love the cute fabric strawberries that KATHY made for me !!
I have used them in so many ways and they just seem to fit in with all my Sweet Nothings "stuff"......KATHY sure has a cute ETSY shop, so you might want to go over and pick out some Christmas gifts....
**
GOOD GRIEF..Christmas is only a little over 4 months away...and, in case anyone didn't already know..my birthday is right around that time of year...and...I will be 72 years old. NOW..I would say "Bwaaaaa" but I am too happy to BE HERE at this age so I AM NOT CRYING !!
Did you see those 2 little green BELL peppers back there...MR. SWEET just brought those in off his little Topsy Turvy planter and, even tho they are rather small, he is just as proud as punch of himself !!
He said, "Don't you wanna a picture of these for your blog?" and I said, "Why, SURE...put them right there on the table and let me take a picture of those little green babies!!"
**
I'm telling you ladies...I just LOVE these dishes .
The little garden napkins were bought at another estate sale.I .think there were 14 napkins in a little bundle for $2.00 and I was thrilled to get them.
***
I could say that it was so hot today that I pulled out my WINTERTIME goblets to make it seem
just a tiny bit cooler ..yes...I could say that.
But, actually, I have no clear water goblets other than these...soooo

I am totally and completely in love forever and ever with this
TOM SAWYER looking little boy.
This was the last gift to me from my mother. It was for my 50th birthday and I had spied this
precious little fella in a jewelry/gift shop and fell in love.
At one time, he had a tiny fishing pole (aka a little tiny stick) and fishing line (aka string)
attached to his tiny little hand. I need to replace that sometime soon...
I enlarged this photo just so YOU could see the freckles across his tiny little cheeks.
And his little friend, sitting close beside him...
*gulp...22 years and I still miss my mother so much..
I used garden green place mats this time and the silver chargers once again.
I am just about to wear those completely OUT.
I am so on the search for something different...maybe white?
********************************

I hope you all have a fabulous day and....
stop somewhere along the way and have some ORANGE SHERBET and a BROWNIE, full of chopped PECANS...
and think of me !

I love those dishes, and the Tom Sawyer fella, too!

I'll be in the HUB tomorrow for a procedure on my old, achin' back. Wish it was for more fun stuff, but it's not. It's just a day procedure, so hopefully I'll be good as new the next day.

Prayers appreciated.

Tom Sawyer looks right at home there on the table. Love the peppers too! Tell the Hubbie congrats on his first two green babies of the season!

I used to have a Tom Sawyer-looking knickknack with a fishing pole, and it was my favorite. However, it broke with one of my moves. Yours is even cuter than mine was, and of course more special because it came from your mom on your big ½ century birthday.

Speaking of which ... Happy Coming-up Birthday!

Love your beautiful post, as always! I MUST have read your age wrong, that can't be right. Go check your birth certificate:) Love to all and have a blessed day!

Oh you sweetie! Look at you using those strawberries I made you in your pretty setting:>) Here is a huge hug for you ((()))! Don't you worry a bit about turning 71. I would never guess it, you look so beautiful! Besides, if 40 is the new 30 that makes 71 the new 61...right? Now pass one of those pecan brownies, they look so good:>)

Good morning BJ, Love your beautiful tablescape as always. These dishes are so pretty and the centerpiece is charming. I never made it over to your post yesterday. Where does the time go? I do love setting a pretty table but I just don't have that many dishes anymore. I downsized everything when we moved here. sigh some of my lovely dishes but my children have them now.

Have a great day. Love ya, Jeanne

Such a pretty tablescape today BJ! I love those dishes too, I missed the story behind them tho! I am a silk flower user, they make them so real looking these days I can't resist buying them!
I have not gotten over my 50th birthday and its been 3 years! I couldn't even say fifty for the longest! You are a young beautiful 71, be proud!
Mr Sweets peppers are a great addition to your table, you should see our tomatos this year, they are as big as a dessert plate!
Have a great day BJ, TTYL! xo

Hi BJ,
Another fun table! It looks mah-velous ... and so do you!

Christmas 4 months away??? Yikes! Where does the time go?

Your figurine is beautiful, and knowing that your mother bought it for you makes it that much more special, doesn't it? I guess we're all little kids inside when it comes to missing our mothers. I've seen my elderly relatives' eyes well up with tears whenever they mentioned their mothers (who, at that point, had been gone for many, many decades).

bj...I love those dishes...and ever since I first saw them on your blog...I have been searching for some. I see a plate here...a plate there..but never a set. They are just so versatile! Your tablescape is ... :) delightful..delicious and delectable! No..I am serious.. :)
So...can I come live with you? (snigger!) :)
I am not up to going to Maine..but in a couple of weeks...I will be! I have such a case of cabin fever...and I love being at home. The garage sale felt like an enormous banana split...with EVERYTHING on it! Ok...close! :)
Hugs to you my friend!

I just love those creamy colored dishes. They look lovely with anything! Your setting today is so elegant. And whatever food you put in them just looks so yummy. Sherbet and a brownie...with almonds, oh my!

The little boy figurine is so precious. How wonderful to have this special keepsake to remember your mother. My mother has been gone for 28 years now, and I still miss her so much as well.

Aw, the little boy and dog are very sweet. And what memories you have along with it, BJ! I love your dishes too, and those pretty napkins you managed to score so cheap! I'd be proud of those good-looking peppers myself, and you tell him I said so! Those strawberries are just too precious! I've bought things from her and she's great. Wish for cooler weather and maybe it will get here one of these days, Texan friend!
