MEET ME AT THE SWING FOR SOME AFTERNOON DELIGHT ~ ~ ~

THREE OR MORE, hosted by GYPSY'S CORNER

DIANE is our host for this fun meme..

THANKS for coming by to see mine...
*
is hosting this fun
LET THERE BE WHITE
a White Tablesetting Event..
***
Since summertime is here, all I want to do is
stay outside...
soooo....
Meet me for an afternoon on the porch swing...
with some of my WHITES..
white dishes, that is....
and there's 3....
*

*
For our afternoon delight, I have country peach passion tea...
caffeine free herbal tea..... ummmm.....
*

and a delicious, refreshing piece of homemade
Southern LEMON PIE.....
strawberries and pecans added to the side...
you may have noticed that SWEET NOTHINGS cottage is seldom
without strawberries and pecans...
*
this recipe is out of SOUTHERN LIVING MAGAZINE....
with Eagle Brand milk..o honey!
***
**a little story here....
when my son was a little boy..from about 4 to 45..
he loved Eagle Brand so much that he kept a can in the fridge
at all times, opened, with a spoon in it. He would take a spoonful,
then wash his spoon (if I was in the room at the time), stick it back in, and cover the whole thing with Cling wrap..
needless to say, I get all fuzzy every time I see a can of Eagle Brand Milk !!
*

this is my cherished VINTAGE Red Cliff Ironstone
covered sugar bowl...
I am totally in love with it and other pieces by Red Cliff..
I bought this piece, once again, on eBay...
the little pitcher has no markings at all on the bottom....
and it was found at the local flea market, years ago..and, the third white piece is the bowl from The Dollar Tree..
*

I am still in love with my precious little tea cup and saucer..
this was a win from the sweet SHERRY...I want to thank
her once again ...I surely have enjoyed using it.

I just noticed that there's THREE strawberries ....:O)
*

little vintage, 2ND TIME AROUND silver sugar spoon...so in need of polishing... belonged to my mama...
*
The pretty lacy piece this is all sitting on came from Hobby Lobby several years ago...i have gone back to find another just like it but have yet to find one....
*

my thanks to you for stopping by for
an afternoon tea on the swing.......
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
P.S. While trying to enlarge photos on my posts, the right side of the photo keeps getting chopped off. I am not sure just what I can do about this....but I'm working on it...I have uploaded WINDOWS LIVE WRITER but sure haven't figured out how to use it YET....I am pretty sure I will have to do a TEST post so if you see something really WEIRD on an upcoming post....that's just me...TESTING, TESTING, ONE, TWO , THREE..
Hi, I love love Tea in the Swing! I adore all your things, the tray, the white dishes Oh how I love lemon pie!
The story of your son is so Sweet! I love your Ironstone! Dollar Tree white bowl, the lace cut work, just love.OK I know I love it all! Now I am going to admit something! I did not know that was a sugar spoon! I have several! lol Now you have left me so many lovely notes,and always ask how I am, for I do not say. I hate to just keep talking about my health, I figure its depressing for everyone. I do talk about it some. I was doing great, (well great for my condition) lol for a couple of weeks and got so much done! Then I took an infection, they are trying to find out what and why. Got to see Docs once a week for a month or so. All different Docs. I go to see my main Cancer surgeon, on July 7, to see if I am well enough for surgery. I have tumors growing like wild fire at this moment. Sure wish they would run away! lol For they are limiting my arms use and make me hurt more in my muscles where, I have been left in well... There is a lot I have not told. I just want to have fun! Soon as I am stronger, I plan to drive to a town and go to Walmart,antique store, thrift store about 35 min away. All By myself! Going to take back roads, for after not driving for 4 years I am scared! lol I use to drive a 40 foot motor home, I think it was the last thing I drove! I want to shop! lol Without Hubby in the car waiting, as I hurry hurry to shop. Thank you for asking about me, I feel so cared about! I dreading surgery, and I will probably be where I can't type to blog. Maybe I can peck and do short post? lol Yes I covered a lot of memes with my post. Trying to post once a week, for I get so tired too soon! Wish I could stay on computer longer! But it has given me more time to visit others blogs,and I do love to. Well my letter is long, so I shall go! Oh, I got to link to Outdoor Wednesday with different post, No today is Monday. lol
BJ, You sure have the knack. I was admiring your cute pillows on your swing...I know, iknow I overlooked your beautiful ironstone and battenberg lace tablecloth at first but I am drooling over it and yor pie right now. That's so funny about your son's love of Eagle Brand. I could easily do that right now. I hate to admit that we do that with canned frosting (right now it's Duncan Hines Vanilla Buttercream - how pathetic) and packages of chocolate chips. ~ Robyn
Everything looks so pretty and charming. And the pie looks delicious. So do the strawberries! What a fun post. Thank you for coming by my place too.
I love the white setting here! Especially against the pale green of the tray. I also have a teacup and saucer that I won from Sherry! I just love mine.
The Battenburg Lace is a favorite of mine. Looks so pretty with your white dishes! I wouldn't clean that pretty spoon. I love it looking all vintage like it is now!
The pie looks so luscious! And I love the fresh strawberries. They are just about the best food ever!
Before I forget to mention this, I wanted to tell you that if you have horizontal pics on Windows Live Writer, they do tend to get chopped off once uploaded to Blogger. I had this problem. Now I only take vertical shots with my camera. Okay, that's my tip for the day! Your place setting of white is just gloriously beautiful. I'm coveting your porch swing... and your food. And your weather. Are you not FRYING out there? We are here. I'm sure there's something I'm forgetting that I wanted to add, but I'll think of it as soon as I hit "publish this comment!" Any help I can be on WLW, just email me!
What a wonderful looking tray with such lovely pieces and great refreshments. It is so nice to just sit and relax and pamper yourself a little.
BTW, your picture problem was also experienced by several other and Susan at Between Naps On The Porch found the solution. It is your computer resolution setting. It needs to be set on high. Somewhere around 1440 x 900. That way all of your picture will show up.
Hugs, Marty
Mornin BJ! You know I love your ironstone, and you always have the best display of food for us to enjoy! It all looks so lovely! Are you able to sit out on your swing with the blazing heat you are having? Come by and see my friends cottagey collections, I think you will love these pictures! xoxo
Your porch looks like a wonderful place to stop and sit a spell. I love the big flag! That lemon pie looks awful yummy, lemon pie is my favorite. I'll take that over a berry pie any day. However, lacking a lemon pie in sight, I would gladly eat the berry pie, LOL!
I love your tea on the swing. And I love lemon pie. It reminds me of my grandma. She made the best pie! I can just taste it. I loved your little tidbit about your son. Too cute. He might appreciate you sharing it, but we do. And your porch swing looks so welcoming. I have a swing on my side patio area but it doesn't have any welcoming pillows or a cushion.
What a beautiful setting and what beautiful food. That pie and those strawberries look scrumptuous! I can see why you love that Ironstone sugar bowl. It is so pretty. Enjoyed your story about the Eagle Brand.
On some computer monitors, when you enlarge the photos, you have to increase your resolution setting. Have you tried that? I have made up my mind that there are some older monitors out there that just will not show the entire picture when they are enlarged pictures, but a lot of them will show it if they increase the resolution setting. I put a little note on my blog about visitors increasing the resolution setting. Good luck! laurie
Hello BJ, we are home at last. My bed and my pillow are heaven to me right now. Thank you for your faithful visits while we were on vacation. Your comments mean so much to me. Thank you for our travel blessings and guess what? Not a single hitch on our long road trip.
I checked out your last two posts and of course I am Jonesing for the cake and pie. Mmmmmm girl you can bake. I love the berries and the white china too. Your photos are grand. Love the red, white and blue theme. The story about your son's love of sweetened condensed milk made me smile. I love that stuff too but I resist. LOL.
It is good to be visiting my dear blogging friends again. That would be you!!!
Love you girl...Jeanne
