HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO MY TWO DADS...

"Old as she was, she still missed her daddy sometimes." ~Gloria Naylor

"Fatherhood is pretending the present you love most is soap-on-a-rope." ~Bill Cosby " There are three stages of a man's life:
He believes in Santa Claus,
he doesn't believe in Santa Claus,
he IS Santa Claus." ~Author Unknown
**
This is a photo of my daddy and I when I was about 10 years old.
I sure did love him...
but Mom and Dad divorced when I was 7 and Mom and I moved pretty far
away from Dallas...and my dad.
*
I lost more than a daddy...as all little people do when divorce happens.
I missed all my aunts, uncles, cousins, granddad....
I did, however, get to spend time with Dad and the others in the summertime.
*
My mother was a very kind and wise lady and always said only good things about my daddy
and always let me see him any time that we could.
For this, I still thank my mother...
*
I was sad....I missed my daddy and didn't understand the ways of the world...
*
BUT...GOD knew I needed help...and HE just set about doing something about it all...
*
HE sent me, not only another wonderful new daddy...but a whole new set of
extended family.

They all loved me and I loved them...in no time at all.
*
"Sometimes the poorest man leaves his children the richest inheritance." ~Ruth E. Renkel

"The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother."

Theodore M. Hesburgh

"It is much easier to become a father than to be one."
~Kent Nerburn, Letters to My Son: Reflections on Becoming a Man, 1994
***
This is my step-father with my daughter the day she married.
I never one time thought of him in any way but MY DADDY.
and...he was always PAPAW to our kids.
He was the kindest, sweetest, funniest man...and I miss him so much I could just die.
*
After all these years, I still thank God for giving me 2 wonderful families...
Not too many little girls get another after losing one...but I sure did...and I am so thankful.

My love to both my dads on this FATHER'S DAY.
I know they are both smiling down at me as I type this tribute to the
best two fathers in the world.

Later that night, the Father prayed, Dear God, Make me the kind of man my son wants me to be." Anonymous

A special story! At the time of the separation, you probably didn't realize how blessed you were; but didn't it turn out wonderful? Sally

You were truly lucky, BJ. I never even got to know one. So I want those who had any at all, and felt their love, to be grateful for their presence.
