A CAKE WORTH BUYING FLOWERS FOR....

Some people may say this post is not BLUE enuf to play with
BLUE MONDAY...
***
It's about Blackberries...and they 'look' BLUE...
Blue enough to play, I think....PURPLE is, after all, A FORM OF BLUE ! RIGHT??
SALLY has the list of lots of other, truer BLUES in Blogland...
Thanks so much for coming by to see me today...
*
ALL who read my blog know that
I LOVE TINA at CHERRY HILL COTTAGE...
so much that I am constantly stalking her blog...
Well, I DO...
she just has so many cute ideas...a fabulous cottage...and...
the woman can cook !!
*
SHE posted this cake that made me dream about it
so I knew I had to make it....
I already had the wine it called for...
yep....BLACKBERRY WINE CAKE...
*
I nearly had a hissy fit at how BEAUTIFUL that
batter became when I added that cup of delicious wine .....
yes...batter CAN be beautiful... and, isn't purple a form of BLUE?
*
and...yes...
yes, i DID lick the bowl, spoon and the beaters...
i mean.....look how pretty it is !!
AND there's a tiny bit of TRUE BLUE in the background....:)
*
I had to go to the store and buy THIS cake some .....flowers.!!
(and i don't mean cake flour !!)
*

I am not bragging on my silly self here but....
THIS IS ONE BEAUTIFUL CAKE....
gosh o'mighty, TINA...
thanks so much for this recipe...
NOW...ya'll need to go over to
CHERRY HILL
and see Tina's great blog and
PICK UP THIS RECIPE...
**
and, I've just gotta mention what that cute JUSTINE
said when I mentioned I made a BLACKBERRY WINE CAKE...
"At first I wondered how you made a cake with a cell phone"!
*
it took me a good 15 minutes to figure out her line of thinking...(i'm old and i'm slow)
when it hit me....i fell outa my chair laughing...
you silly girl, Tiney!!
Ya'll need to go over and see HER blog, too...
she is one funny lady..i just love her!
*
If you can look past all the pecans and blackberries, there's some blue on those beads..:>)
*

I have to say that THIS one brought Mr. Sweet to his knees....
*
I gotta admit that I had a slice the night I baked it...
and another for breakfast ...while blogging....
it's bound to be ok to have it for breakfast...remember...
fresh fruit !!!

That looks soooooo yummy! Oh my goodness, I would break my diet and have a piece of that for sure!

I had to think about what Justine said for a little while too. I still think of a Blackberry as a fruit first and not some fancy cell phone, lol.

Oh, what a beautiful and delicious-looking cake, BJ. It looks so moist and rich, too. It made my mouth water and it's only 5:30 AM right now.

Hope your Blue Monday is a good one.

Now girl, you know I am sitting here drooling for a slice of that cake. I love blackberries. I have some in the refrigerator now, but I don't have any blackberry wine.

Love you.

I've tasted one of these cakes and they are so moist and yes, yours is especially pretty. My blackberries are still red, but the bushes are loaded.

I'm glad you got to see my kitchen. We just redid it a year and a half ago, never thinking we'd be moving. I loved it so. Now, the new one will have to be as gorgeous! LOL And, sure, I'll take pictures.

Mmmmm...looks so moist and yummy! I saw this recipe and was intrigued. However, if I don't quit making all these delicious recipes I see in Blogland...and do something besides sit at the computer all day looking at all the delicious recipes in Blogland, I'm going to weigh 500 pounds! Yikes!

I bought my wine today to make the cake! Couldn't find Blackberry Wine, so I got Sweet Reds by Llano Estacado---it's made of blackberries & cherries! I can't wait to see how it comes out! Was wondering, though, what brand of white cake mix did you use? And was it a cake mix with pudding in it or just a regular white cake mix? Thanks for visiting my blog. Am loving yours! Are you from Lubbock? My husand's family lives there so it's our second home! Patti
