RedNess Day...

Today is REDnesday at
I think she has a list over there of other REDness
so be sure to go over and take a look...
THANK YOU for coming by to see my reds...
****************
I have been blogging so long that I have posted just
about every single thing in my cottage...
I am showing
MY RED KITCHEN
again for those that haven't seen it in all it's REDNESS.....
*
I found this kitchen in a magazine...I can't even remember which one, now...
but it became the inspiration for
MY kitchen...
I kept this photo on my fridge door for a year before I could start
painting my lower cabinets......RED...
the wonderful thing is that I had already painted my walls in the
same shade of SAGE...lucky me!

The inspiration on the left and my version on the right...
*
THEN.....i saw THIS....
What a cute kitchen at DAISY COTTAGE...
Kim so graciously told me what size tile to use
to create this fabulous back splash...
*
"OOOO, MR. SWEET NOTHINGS....where are you?
Can you pleasssssse make this "i've just gotta have it"
back splash for me??"
*
and he said, "YEEEESSSSSSS...i can do that!"
*
AND....he DID do it !
and I have just loved it ever since.....
****
that's our dining room you see in the background...
there's a pass-thru above the stove into the dining room.
**ONCE I POSTED a photo like this on RATE MY SPACE and everyone thought the pass-thru
was a shelf of some sort with "things" on it....:O)
*

the breakfast area on the other end of the kitchen...
*

and, ALWAYS treats for grandkids in the vintage glass containers...
ALWAYS !!

I love your kitchen! The more I see painted cabinets the more I KNOW I want to paint mine. I may get my gumption up this summer and make it a project. I know the kitchen itself is getting painted. Shhhh...don't tell Earl:>)

Forgive me for drooling all over your blog, but I can't help it! I've just got to have cabinets like that! I think I like your kitchen better than the magazine - the black and checks are so tasteful! Thanks for sharing again!

I love how your kitchen looks. I am painting my cabinets in the fall and love to see what others have done. I so love the black and white tile.

I love the idea of the candy jars for the grand kids...now I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled for some that will match my kitchen. Thanks!

I love your kitchen. I love the feel of it. Those vintage canisters are perfect. One of my memories from visiting my grandma has a child is the memory of her cookie/candy jar. It was always grandpa that led us to it though!

BJ I love your kitchen!

I have never seen it before and it's a treat.
Absolutely gorgeous in red and white. The backsplash is so fun as well.

~Wonderful job! :)

I love your kitchen and your inspiration kitchens BJ! I used your inspiration picture with the red green and cream when I did my makeover 6 or so months ago. Then decided to leave out the red and just used green and cream. Well... the green is all wrong so I'm paint shopping again! I have been putting it off but it really needs to get finished by this summer, the bloggers will be after me if I don't get on the ball! TTYL! xo

I love your kitchen BJ! I love Kim's too! I have a question to ask. What type of paint did you use on the cabinets? Did you spray it on or brush it on? Did you use a primer? Is there a poly coat on top? Ok..lol...that was alot of questions!
Hugs,
Penny

You have a really beautiful kitchen. I love how you, and Mr. Sweet Nothings, have made it all your own. I don't think that a professional designer could have done a better job.
