HOMEMADE BISCOTTI on a rainy, cloudy day...

I LOVE RAINY....... CLOUDY....
my favorite kind of day...
and I always...ALWAYS want to BAKE...
SOOO, today I tried PENNY'S recipe for....
HOMEMADE BISCOTTI
*
BUT...somehow..no one knows WHY or HOW but
mine did NOT look as beautiful as HERS .....
*
HERE IS THE WAY MINE LOOKED........

*

And THIS is the way they are SUPPOSED to look !!
bwaaaaaaaa.
mine did not rise as much as hers and I don't know why
because I followed her recipe !
Another of life's little mysteries...!! :O)
*

I just whipped up a little LEMON GLAZE
and drizzled it on that Biscotti, just as if
they looked PERFECT...!!
They tasted so good that I forgot that they weren't pretty !!
If you like Biscotti and want to try it at home,
be SURE to go over and get PENNY'S recipe...maybe YOUR'S will turn out looking better than MINE...
They are so so good.. and her recipe makes A LOT...
so good with coffee or tea...
Now, I used RUM flavoring in mine and, as I mentioned,
did a little glazing on them.
*
THANKS FOR THE RECIPE, PENNY...
I just sit myself down...
ate 3 of these little ugly things with a hot cup of coffee
and watched a LIFETIME movie
on this
LOVELY RAINY, CLOUDY DAY.....
*
i hope we have another day just like this tomorrow...
yes...i do !

Oh Bj they still look great lol. The glaze makes them look all fancy ;) I love biscotti! But, being Italian, I like the anise flavor best ;) lol. I have yet to make my own though. I know I know..bad Italian! LOL. Glad you enjoyed yours :)

All the best,
Allison

BJ, your posts make me smile. Here's a friend who even loves CLOUDY days! Love that positive attitude you have about things. No wonder your grandkids love to spend time with Memaw. And you love to bake too???

They look scrumptious, what time should I drop in for tea, lol! xxxx

BJ YUM!!! Hey I'll take mine anyway they turn out, just as long as you make them and not me! Maybe it was the humidity or something like that is why they didn't rise, but they sure look good enough to eat the whole plate full! LOL! I like rainy and cloudy once in awhile too, its cozy! I also love a thunderstorm in the afternoon! Have a good day sweetie! xo

I love biscotti. But, since I don't bake I have never tried to make my own. I guess that I need to try to talk someone into making some for me. Hello, Chris, Heather, Kylah....

Mmmmm...I love biscotti with tea or coffee but I've never had it homemade. I'm just going to have to try making it sometime.

I'm coming over for tea!

I think you'll like the pretzels. I try to have recipes handy that the grandkids and I can do together. They always glow when they carry a plate home to mom and dad of goodies that they made with their own hands.☺

Mornin' my friend...

I just read your sweet note that you left on my little bunny...so happy that you came by Sweetie and thank you for the sweet comments!!!

Girl, your biscotti looks fabulous!!! I think it looks real pretty...and I love the sound of a lemon glaze on top...mmmm!!! I love biscotti but have never made it myself! If I were anywhere nearby...I sure would help you eat it! Hehe!!!

Just wanted to tell you that I looked through your "2nd Time Around" post. Girl, I love what you did to that little chest of drawers...it's absolutely charming!!! I like how you did it in white and just did the drawer fronts in the pink...sooo pretty!!! Oooh...and I love the little porcelain rose knobs!!! Did you decopage the roses onto the drawer fronts? Soooo beautiful!!! I love refurbishing furniture as well...and I love painting it...better than restaining, etc.

I also just love, love, love all of your pretty red, black & white kitchen towels! How cute!!! I love the rooster towel with the pretty red ball fringe!!!

Have a wonderful Wednesday, my friend!

Would you believe I've never taste Biscoti? I'm assuming I'm really missing something delicious so I'll have to copy that recipe down and try them:-) I think yours look just fine...but it is funny that we can all use the same recipe and yet none will turn out the same! lol I made a square yesterday which is soooo delish and will post the recipe tomorrow. xoxo

You can have the rainy day...I'd love a biscotti!

Don't worry BJ. Nothing that I ever make looks the way it's supposed to. It's the taste that counts.

BJ, they look yummy! I have wanted to try adding lemon zest and pictachios instead of almonds to mine. Then I would drizzle the lemon glaze on top...

The second time I made mine, I over cooked them...the third time they turned out the best...

Thanks for the prayer .
I'll take one of those Yummy Biscotti's . Is that what they say is twice baked ? I never made them .
It's raining here in Ohio . I always loved the rain when it didn't get real loud and windy out . Just a nice gentle rain today and tomorrow .

Those look so good! Nothing like something sweet is it?

Oh BJ those look out of this world. And that china you got for a steal at the estate sale looks like a million bucks on your table. Perfect chargers and linens. I'm so happy for you. I think it's so neat to keep the set together like that rather than selling a few pieces at a time at an antique store.
