it's all about VERSATILITY...

NEW PLATES...
OH BOY.....I GET TO PLAY TABLESCAPES AGAIN..
*
I am totally IN LOVE with these Black and White cuties...
I was so excited when I saw them that I just almost had a run-away !!
OOOOO, YES...I just knew these babies would fit right in and feel right
at home with all my other dishes.....
*
*
SUSAN is once again host to this delightful day each and every week. She also has a growing list of other beautiful tables in town....
Thank you so much, SUSAN...you are such a gracious hostess...
***************************************
The new plates with BLACK AND WHITE, shouted my name the very instant I walked into WALMART this morning..I had no need for new plates...didn't even WANT new plates...WELL...OK...I did WANT new plates...ALWAYS.......but I'm just sayin'....
when I saw these, I fell in love...
You can fall in love with plates and SHEILA knows it !
*
I decided to play just a bit with them and show you the VERSATILITY of having dishes that can marry....
*
SQUARES AND DOTS AND PLAIDS...O MY !
*
BLACK squares and BLACK lines
coupled with RED and WHITE POLKA DOTS ...and all atop BLACK and WHITE TOILE...
just makes for a fun lunch ANY day of the week, I think.....
*
just my silver charger, red plate and then the little new one....
and my beloved yellow flatware for POP.....
have i mentioned before that this is vintage flatware,
very heavy...much more than the new stuff i have,
and it belonged to my AUNT LILLIAN....
she gave it to me many, many years ago... bwaaaa...
I sure would rather have my AUNT LILLIAN than this old yellow silverware !! :O(
*
I absolutely ADORE these little new plates
nestled smack on top of my RED AND WHITE polka dot cuties and then layered
atop the solid RED plate...on one of the new RED place mats...
I LOVE LAYERING.....
I just LOVE this !
this looks like a great place setting for a
CHEF SALAD and HOT ROLLS kind of lunch to me....
oooo, and a glass of wine, OF COURSE...
*********
RED plate, black and white smaller plate
and black and white toile.....**SIGH.....
*
I am on my way to TARGET soon for some of that darling
BLACK flatware they have !!
I've been looking at it for a long time ....it's cheap..
well, maybe I should
say.... it is INEXPENSIVE...
Yes...that does sound better !
ANYWAY...I really NEED some..don't you think ??
yes, ma'am...I DO !
*************
Yes...I LOVE the versatility of having colors that intermingle...
ESPECIALLY when they are your very favorite colors ! !!

BJ, I do 'love' your dishes too. All of them. Your layered look is very imaginative and the yellow silverware...so sweet. AND, you have red flatware. Yes, you do need black flatware. I have white flatware from WalMart and it was cheap, I mean inexpensive. I love it. Honestly BJ, and no kidding, your dishes and place mats all look great. Fun too.

OH MY! It just can't get better then this!!

I love mixed patterns, maybe why I make scrap quilts. The more patterns the better. And to add a brilliant red and the flatware is perfect.
