A FUN TUESDAY....

So many thanks to DIANE for hosting this fabulous
2nd TIME AROUND TUESDAY...
such fun so be sure to swing by her place,
leave sweet words and take a look at all the
other fabulous REMAKES.....
*
This is the sofa table behind my sage green loveseat in the living room....
I bought it at a THRIFT SHOP a few years ago for
$16.00....it has a one and a half inch thick glass on it
and it is just PERFECT for the spot I have it in. It is very plain
and simple and takes up very little space....
I spray painted the frame BLACK and I love it....
*
The arrangement is OK here but nothing to "write home about", ya know....
I see so many beautiful things on other blogs and a lot of the time,
I notice their decorator items are LARGE.......as I can, I am going to buy major
larger pieces than what I have in my cottage..
ANYWAY, I wanted to spice things up a bit on this little thrifted table..
*
Going shopping in my CLOSET SHOP, I decided to use another 2nd TIME AROUND item....
my mother's cut crystal bowl and
fill it to the brim with these luscious looking apples.....
*
Then, I decided to showcase this beautiful, 'means the world to me' piece that my sweet
son and daughter bought for me one year for Mother's Day...
back when they were just little kids...
*oops...my heart is swelling here....
It has the beautiful rose etched into the glass and can you see that it says LOVE GROWS...oh ! my!
*
Then I decided I needed some visual "weight" on the other end of the glass topped table.....
and, of course, BOOKS are always great for visual weight...almost ALL of my
books are another 2nd TIME AROUND as I buy them at thrift shops....
Aren't these bookends so cute ? I bought those at KIRKLANDS a few years back when they
had one of their wonderful sales. .... I LOVE THAT STORE.
*
YES..... I like my new do...
this is making my TRASH TO TREASURE, 2ND TIME AROUND table
look just spiffy as can be....
*
It just makes my heart sing to have something fresh and new to look at...just rearranging one little
table top seems to refreshen the entire room....HOW IS THAT ??
*
and.....
*
IF seeing my bright, red apples made you hungry for a great APPLE PIE...
you can't use my apples....
*
THEY ARE FABULOUS FAUXS......
;O)

XO bj

i love the light and the books BJ, isn't it amazing what tablescaping does for something? you know just a few months ago I hadn't even heard of these vignette affairs, my decorating was a lot less 'done' now I do them and then re-do, and as you isn't it just so great to just simply shop what you've got and foof it around til it looks all pretty

great inspiration

You did a great job there!! Love that table... which by the way is very smart.. being glass and all.. that wont take as much space as the solid ones.. visually! :-)

Your livingroom seems very cozy! :-)

Hi, BJ ...

What a pretty transformation ... and isn't it nice to have your mother's beautiful bowl and the sweet keepsake from your children out where you can enjoy them every day.

Don't you just love "shopping in your closet." I find stuff in mine all the time that I forgot I had.

Hope your day is filled with sunshine.

Sincerely,

Janie

P.S. ... Sorry about deleting the first comment. It had a typo in it.

I really like the black and white pieces but your re-do is really pretty too. I have a crystal bowl like that ready to go to my grand-daughter and darn it really looks good with the apples but she will love it too. Your sofas look very similar to mine and I would love to see a blog on them. We are getting ready to redecorate the front room and I am looking everywhere for great ideas. Interesting post!
Have a Terrific Tuesday

BJ you have some beautiful things on your table and you arranged them perfectly. And that pie!....Well.... I hope you have a beautiful day!

It looks great! I like the idea of "shopping the house" for new things or using something you already have in a new way!

I have a bowl of faux apples too, but in green. They are so realistic that they have fooled many people, including my son's friend who actually bit into it! lol I have to put that side down now because of the teeth marks! I got them at Pier 1.

My husband would be TICKELED PINK if you featured him in a post!! I may have to deflate his head afterwards though!

I think I have a crystal bowl just like yours that I inherited from my Grand Mother! Love it.

BJ I love what you did with your thrifted table! Kirklands is a fun store - the one by me closed about 5 years ago so it's always a treat for me to find one that's still open. It is fun to have something new to look at and you did a beautiful job accomplishing that without running to the store!

Mmmm that pie looks delish. I want to bake something this weekend but wasn't sure what...maybe pie!

Your tablescape is terrific! LOVE the bookends - such a weakness for me. And your mother's crystal bowl is stunning. I also love the term "closet shopping" - I think that's what I do when I start changing things around. I stare at the closet and cupboards where I store my treasures until something pops! BTW - how did you get your pie crust so perfect?!

Hi BJ, your glass sofa table is beautiful. The perfect size and price. I do love what you have displayed on it as well. the bookends are awesome. I too love Kirklands. Unfortunately we do not have one anywhere near Franklin. Such is life. I had a chuckle over your apple pie and fake apples. You sure fooled me.

Love Ya...Jeanne
