Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women today (after lung cancer) and is the most common cancer among women, excluding non-melanoma skin cancers. According to the American Cancer Society, about 1.3 million women will be diagnosed with breast cancer annually worldwide about 465,000 will die from the disease. Breast cancer death rates have been dropping steadily since 1990, according to the Society, because of earlier detection and better treatments.
I don't have breast cancer nor anyone in our family has it. I do have two very good friends that have fought it ......and both have won their fight. Praise be to our Heavenly Father and for all the awareness that is going on now. EARLY DETECTION is crucial ..
It is a cause that I have always felt very strongly about and is always on my mind. I don't have much money to donate......but, I CAN help to make awareness of this disease more available and....SO CAN YOU !
AND......so can fellas like this one ....
My grocery store, like yours, was full of PINK during
OCTOBER, BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH..
but WE CAN'T STOP THERE...we have to be reminded ALL YEAR LONG.....
I absolutely LOVE this.....
every time we see a touch of PINK, we remember our loved ones and friends
that have or have had this deadly disease and we
PRAY A LITTLE HARDER !
I know we ALL appreciate the companies that support the FIGHT FOR THE CURE....
I sure do and I try my very best to purchase PINK over anything else.
CURE ?
I didn't but.....I sure do now and I am getting some!
Imagine taking them in a grocery store, reminding someone of this dreaded illness and them going home, calling for their long over-due MAMMOGRAM ...all because they saw YOU with your PINK GROCERY BAGS....
Wearing PINK, giving PINK, just TALKING PINK
IS GOING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE !!
.......IT SAVES LIVES.....
These SURVIVOR ladies are holding a
PINK DAY EVENT ...
ooo, don't they all look PRETTY in PINK....
i've used this fabulous photo before but.....
i love it !
IF we all had a nice, large copy of this beauty hanging in our office or our computer room...living room, kitchen, even bath...wouldn't we be reminded of PINK SAVES LIVES in such a gentle way !
*************************************************************
This is an illness that CAN be beaten. We just have to keep it foremost in our minds so we are reminded to FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT....
The money earned thru all the wonderful ways our country has pitched in to help
FIGHT, has been put to good use in early detection, helping more women to have mammograms, the new, powerful drugs and new technology.
PINK IS TO REMEMBER.... !!!!!!
REMEMBER TO PRAY........
REMEMBER TO GIVE .............
REMEMBER TO FIGHT !!!!!!!!!!
FIGHT FOR THE CURE...
love, bj
*
don't forget to click, EVERY DAY, on the pink ribbons for free mammograms for the women that can't afford to pay for one. The clickable ribbons are on a lot of blogger sidebars.... mine included...
Would YOU think about adding a clickable button to YOUR sidebar ?
just OUR click EVERY day....MAKES A DIFFERENCE !
OLIVIA NEWTON JOHN , singer and ROBIN ROBERTS, of Good Morning America, are but two of the many celebrities that have fought and won the battle of BREAST CANCER....Just think of all the others, our own family members, our friends, other famous people, other people just like you and me......so many lives have been saved because WE CARE....
THANKS TO ALL OF YOU that continue to support THE FIGHT....!!
**
ANY MAN THAT WILL WEAR PINK HAS GOTTA BE
A HUNK !!
don't ya love it !!!
go out today and buy your HONEY a pink shirt...he'll be glad you did...and so will you!
i did it !....love, bj

Bless you for reminding us how important is to take care of ourselves & spread the word that early detection is the best way to confront this terrible disease. And let all women (and men) who have beat the odds have the blessings of our Lord to never have to face this again & be forever an example of courage & a reminder to us do monthly self-exams and mammograms as recommended by our physicians!
Thank you again for caring & God bless!

Dear ANONYMOUS,
ReplyDeleteI will add you to my prayer list that you will recover completely from this battle you are fighting.
I know how scared you must feel and I wish I could say or do something to help you feel better. You know without me saying that God loves you and so do I. Prayer is the most powerful gift of all and HE listens to every single word uttered.
xo bj
