COFFEE...UMMMMM

Sweet TINA over at CHERRY HILL COTTAGE just did a post on her vintage coffee pot and I really enjoyed reading it. It reminded me of MY old coffee pot and wanted to share with you.
Take the time to go visit at TINA'S and see all of her BEAUTIFUL wedding preparations for the upcoming wedding of her beautiful daughter.....

Please tell her HELLO for me.....

*******************************************************

My poor, PITIFUL, OLD coffee-maker is what I use EVERY morning to make my coffee....
It is ugly and doesn't even make
GOOD COFFEE....

But, this beautiful little VINTAGE, CORNING WARE percolator , with the precious blue flowers, makes the
VERY BEST COFFEE IN THE WORLD...

Now, why would I use an ugly electric coffee maker when I have this cute little number
to make coffee in ?????

It's just that you have to....

"watch" it...

time it...

stay with it...

BUT................
then you can enjoy a REALLY great cup of coffee.

I use it on days that I want to "go back in time" a little...
days when I want to fix a batch of CHICKEN AND DUMPLIN'S like my mother used to make....
COMFORT FOODS...
(and OLD FASHIONED COFFEE...SHE used one of these coffee pots for years)

GEVALIA coffee is my preference...
even over STARBUCKS.

But, FOLGERS sure does have some delicious, specialty coffees now that I enjoy a lot.

Even tho I have this beautiful, vintage, BLUE WINDMILL coffee canister,

I find myself using todays VACUUM SEALED canister to keep the coffee fresher...

Oh, and I do love FRESH GROUND coffee the very best of all....

HOWEVER, even tho I HAVE used this vintage, precious COFFEE GRINDER,
(back on one of those
"get back to the old ways" days,)

I use an ELECTRIC grinder most days !!

It must be a

SIGN OF THE TIMES.....

Happy Day, bj
I want to thank you all again for your sweet, loyal and continued prayers for me.
I know I would never have been able to regain my strength so fast without all the prayers. They are the very best gift you could possibly give to me and
I THANK YOU.

Seeing you here this morning has started my day with a smile.

Keep feeling better. Treat yourself to a cup of coffee from your favorite pot. Get someone to make it for you. You deserve to be pampered.

I love the smell of coffee but just don't have a taste for it. I enjoy making a pot for my husband to enjoy while I enjoy the smell! The best is in the winter when I can sat the enamel coffee pot on the woodstove. Now that is a scent from heaven!

It's so good to see you here again this morning. Glad you are returning to good health and gaining your strength.

I remember my grandmother's old 'percolator' on the stove early every mornng. It always smelled so good and I never understood why the adults took a sip and always said, 'Ah, good coffee!' Still don't understand it because coffee and I don't get along well. It doesn't like me! I've tried a couple of times and don't like what happens so I avoid it now. But I still love the smell.

You are welcome for the prayers and I am so glad you are mending:>) I prefer Gevalia over starbucks too! Truth be told, I dont care for the acidity of starbucks coffee. The corning coffe pot is so much prettier than the coffemaker but you cant beat pushing a button and being able to walk away and do other things:>) Have a great day BJ!

BJ,

I love those vintage perculators. Grandma had a red metal one that made the best coffee I've ever tasted. Yes perked coffee is the best.

Enjoyed the photos of your vintage items, taking me back in time to days that were slower paced, with much more work. It was a great time.

Blessings,
Mary

Dear BJ,

So great to see you posting and feeling better as each day goes by! I was away for a few days but I'm now catching up with everyone:-) That Corning Ware percolator is the same one my mom had and it brings back so many delightful memories of watching it start to perk and seeing the bubbles in the glass knob on top!! Yes, the more modern conveniences of making coffee is one we all tend to use now but it will never taste as good as those done the old fashioned way:-) xoxo

Hi, Jean! I just happen to have one of those "old" coffee pots with the blue flowers myself and they do make a good cup of coffee

You're sounding stronger every day and I'm so thankful! Keep up the good work!

Today was a hard day, but those two dreaded tests are behind me now, thank God! Think I'm going to drink TWO cups of coffee in the morning to make up for the one I didn't get to drink today. Why don't you try that with a good blueberry muffin or some other delicacy and enjoy!

Love your posts the last two days.

Good morning BJ! I was so happy to "see" you today on my blog...so glad you're better.

I love all the pics from the RMSers! We seem drawn to the same folks on there as I love the ones you've featured too!

I just had to comment on the corning ware coffee pot. I got one as a wedding present in 1973
(to ex-husband) yet I don't drink coffee. We brewed our tea in ours. When my son got married 7 years ago, he wanted it for making tea in! So it now resides in a big ol' McMansion in B'ham, Alabama! Don't know about making good coffee, but it sho 'nuff made great tea!

XO!
