MONKEY BUSINESS...UH...I MEAN MONKEY BREAD

************
Do you ever make Monkey Bread with canned biscuits? I do it every now and then and we really love it. So simple...and fast....and good.

I usually use 4 cans of the small biscuits (I only had 2 here) and it makes a nice sized monkey bread. Cover the bottom of your Bundt or Angel Food pan with melted butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. Tear each biscuit into little pieces and layer with more brown sugar (or white, if you like), butter and cinnamon. Pecans, OF COURSE, can be added....and it is so yummy with nuts.

Bake in a 400 oven until they are golden brown......

While the bread is cooking, add a big slice of Country Ham in a skillet and brown on both sides....eating this ham with your bread WILL NOT make the monkey bread anything but GOOOOOOD !!!

This is how it will look with the 2 cans of biscuits....you can imagine how large and pretty it will be with 4 cans......Don't skimp on the butter, sugar and cinnamon....that's what makes it all so good.

Now, I am sure you could use a low-fat butter and Splenda for way less calories and fat....I haven't tried that yet but I sure intend to.......someday!

Serve it all up with your favorite coffee or tea and you are in for a taste treat that didn't take any time at all....

Ummmmmm, UM !!

The rest goes under glass until it's SNACK TIME !!!
NOTE:
UH, OHHHH, KELLY just told me about GORILLA BREAD.....from Paula Deen....so, now, let's go check IT out......

HAVE A SNACKFUL DAY....it's good for the soul !!

Good Morning BJ,
Well I be darned, if you ain't making me hungry this morning. My mouth is so watering now. LOL. You are just going to have to get in your car and drive all the way here and bring me some of that Monkey Bread and Ham. It all looks so yummy. Well it wouldn't last very long around here that's for sure. LOL. It would all be gone in a days time here. LOL. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.

I make this from time to time. My recipe is some what different by cooking the butter and brown sugar together some and pouring over before baking.

I agree it is so good!

Also~I put in lots of chopped pecans...nothing low calorie in this tasteful dish.

Hi BJ, I loved having you take a walk with me. It was interesting to hear your take on Spring. It sounds so different from what we have in Virginia. By the first week of April Spring time here will be incredibly beautiful. We love monkey bread at this house. I make the sweet version with a box of butterscotch pudding and lots of nuts. Yummeeeeee!

You know, my mom started making Monkey Bread many years ago and I remember the very first time I tasted it...as you say, it's soooo good:-) I've made it a few times myself...it's especially nice to make when you have a few friends over for coffee and everyone just picks at it until it's all gone! lol xoxo

Everyone around here loves Monkey Bread! I have made it for years....then....THEN!!! I discovered Paula Deens GORILLA BREAD recipe! It is basically Monkey bread with cream cheese in the center of each quartered biscuit and pinched closed. Me Likey!!
Now I won't be satisfied until I make either the Monkey Bread or the Gorilla Bread. That's just how I am.
