IT'S ALL IN THE LITTLE DETAILS ~

Good morning, friends ~

I love the little details on furniture and other things.... This is a wooden applique on the drawer of my green, vintage hutch.....

And, there's one of these lovely baskets with flowers on each large door on the bottom section of the hutch.

I love this beautiful trim sweet hubby added to our french doors when we did the addition to the living room. The extra molding just makes the doors look like a million dollars for not much money.

A hand painted mirror that hangs in my bath.......

Cute, cute little bird and flowers on my green metal magazine wall rack.....

I LOVE that old vintage vent you see in the background .....seems like this sort of thing can add much needed character to a plain, vanilla house. And, believe me, my PLAIN, VANILLA HOUSE needs all the help it can get!! I dearly LOVE going to a salvage place and finding this sort of thing....at first, you look at it and think, "Where would I put it" and then, on the way up to the checkout register, you have thought of 15 1/2 places it would be fabulous!!

A hand painted, metal table in our living room that is a favorite of mine. Very inexpensive....about $20 at TJMAXX, one of my favorite stores...hmmmm, think I may just make a trip out there today and see what they have. I haven't been able to go there in quite some time and there is no telling what I may have missed!!!!!!!! :)

An old metal bracket that's attached to a shelf in my living room. What is it about old, rusty, swirled pieces that I love?? I LOVE rusty!

The richness of detailed silver on a picture frame or mirror....... It just looks so yummy and soft and elegant, all at once.

I LOVE THIS LAMP...I like the lead detailing on it and I love the way the light looks coming thru the glass shade. Such a soft, warm glow......almost like a candle.

Guess I'll go look for some more details....OH, yes...there's some, over there...there in the bathroom....in the dirty clothes basket....it's THIS kind of little details that I DON'T like !!!! Gotta get busy!

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY~

Good Morning BJ,
I bet your home is just breathtaking. I do enjoy seeing pictures of your home, but I wish I could see it all in person and not just shots of it. I love all of the details on the wood work. You hubby did a great job on the molding. The Metal Table is just beautiful. I love the look of antique metals as well. I don't know what it is about it that makes you want to just grab it. LOL. The Mirror is just to die for. I bet it looks really good in your bathroom. "THANK YOU" for sharing some beautiful details from your home. I'm with Rosie, can I come live with you too? LOL. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.

Your home is just magical...
I have wondered if I could get the builders to put that exact type of molding in my house... I LOVE that! We used to live in an old 100 year old farmhouse that had the "bullseye" cornered molding like that - one of my favorite parts of the house!
(It also had a clawfoot tub and handmade wrought iron stair rail!) They tore the whold house down and trashed it all, just to put up a cotton gin... *sigh*

I love the old furniture because it's simply artwork...a master craftsman's work in your home, how could you ask for more?

I enjoyed seeing all your treasures, BJ, but I especially like the lamp. Yes, that would definitely give off a warm, cozy look to a room

BJ,
Thank you for visiting my blog. I look forward to getting to know you better. Actually, I commented once before because I am from Texas and mentioned that my mom was from Spur.

Your house is lovely and I have gotten some wonderful ideas from you as I prepare to decorate our new home in the country. Your house is beautiful and whimsical at the same time and looks great!

Have a wonderful evening and come back and see me sometime!

I got a new McKenzie- Childs catalog today and it made me think of you. They even have rugs...oh heart be still :)
