ODDS AND ENDS.......

HAPPY FEBRUARY 1st....this is the pretty February picture on my new Mackenzie-Childs calendar.

My grand kids love the JONES SODAS and I love using the bottles for salt and pepper in my kitchen. They hold so much and each bottle has a different picture on them...if you watch, you can get one silver and one black screw-on top, which makes is great, too. Just something fun for the kitchen, a little different and very convenient to use....

Breakfast is my most enjoyable meal of the entire day and night. I LOVE A GREAT BREAKFAST.....lunch and dinner can be light and I do fine. But, I feel the very best when I start my day with a hefty breakfast. It seems HEFTY and HEALTHY don't really work in the same sentence..*sigh*
One of my favorite breakfasts...FRENCH TOAST and BACON......I don't have it often so it remains a really special bite of Heaven for me.

I hope the scientists come up with a Cholesterol fighting pill that works in about 2 hours. I KNOW this isn't healthy and I try to eat better....most of the time. It's just so dang yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Somewhere I read that you should ALWAYS leave a little food on your plate and not stuff yourself! Do you think THIS is enough to leave? :) I THINK NOT !
In all honesty, I even ended up eating this morsel, just before I washed my plate! GOOD GRIEF, I need to get a grip!
*********************************

I just wanted to show you the 3rd clock (the one on the book) that I found on Ebay, one of those 99 cent openings, no other bidders, low shipping....it works and it came with a battery! I love the look of 3 but I don't want to add any more to the group. I love the little sparkle they bring to my desk.....Now....let me see......
hmmmm, I wonder what new "collection" is on the horizon??? Hunting for pieces for my "collections" is one thing that keeps life so interesting....I hope you have a fabulous collection going and I sure wish you would show it (or, as in my case, THEM) to all of us. It's so fun to see what others like so much and.....it gives me that new idea of what collection to start on next! lol
**********************************************
The following came in an email from my sweet cuzz that lives in East Texas...
"My g-son asked me a hard question yesterday. Question was "How many seconds are there in a year" ? Sheeze ......I thought they were still working with apple and oranges. I figured if it was for school , I wanted to help so I showed him how to work the problem. I tried with a pencil and it got complicated......I finally worked it out after about 30 minutes.......... I showed him this enormous figure and he said "WRONG"........there's only 12 seconds in a year..........
January 2nd,

February 2nd,

March 2nd................................. Boy, if I could have gotten my hands around his neck ! "
HEH HEH HEH..........
*ADDED NOTE:
Regarding the problem I was having with posting yesterday....Sweet ADRIENNE of WITH A GRATEFUL HEART told me that I should be on COMPOSE on the NEW POST page. I checked and, sure 'nuff...when I clicked on it, all my pictures appeared again. I have not a clue how I ever got off of COMPOSE but I am back on now. So many thanks to you, ADRIENNE. By the way, folks.....stop by her place soon...she has such a lovely blog and is the sweetest lady. You will be glad you did!
ADDITIONAL NOTE:
Sweet AMELIA at Amelia's Musings let me know about the COMPOSE setting on the Post page. Thank you so much, Amelia.
I hope you will go over to her blog site...she made the most fabulous quilt she just posted about.

Good Morning BJ,
Oh my goodness, I love the Salt and Pepper Shakers you made out of those Soda Bottles. That is such a neat idea. Leave it to you to think of something so clever. I have never heard of Jones Soda's before. Is it only in Texas? Gee Whizz BJ, what are you trying to do to me here? LOL. I am fixing to eat a plain bowl of cornflakes and look what your having. Will you please bring me some of your breakfast? LOL. I love your 3rd clock you got. It is beautiful and fits right in with your other 2 clocks. I loved the email you got from your cousin. Dang, I would have wrung his neck as well. LOL. That just ain't right. LOL. I'm glad you got your post going right now. I still don't know a whole lot more that I did when I first started blogging. Maybe someday I will know everything there is to know. LOL. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours. I think they have a lower Cholesterol or Cholesterol Butter. I'm thinking they do because seems like my Mom uses some brand. I will have to check with her and see next time I talk to her.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.

That French toast looks so good. I saw two crystal clocks at the thrift store the other day. Wish I had got them for you. I think they were 99 cents each.

OK, I've been sitting here on this rainy, dreary, cold day eating everything I can find in the pantry, including both Hershey's Kisses (yes, I'm bad!) and the last few chips in a bag of Tostitos. And now I NEED french toast! Thanks a lot, bj!

Loved the joke, and your beautiful crystal clocks!

Have a great weekend! How's the weather there? Did you get that ice and snow?
xoxo,
Mary

Hi BJ, love your clock collection, I think you are right to stop at three, that's just about the time for tea and cakes isn't it? Wouldn't it be wonderful if you came to England, we could have a big party with all your British blog friends. If I win the lottery I will send the fare right over to you! What a great joke, I'm going to try it on Mr. Bloom.
have a good weekend,
Lucy x

Your clocks are wonderful...

I love Jones Soda, too, but around here I haven't seen any with twist on lids, I don't think... (Green Apple is my favorite flavor... lol)

Fabulous pictures... makes me hungry again, and I just finished lunch an hour ago! :)

I'm so glad to meet another breakfast gal!

Breakfast is my very most favorite meal of the day! Your french toast looks so nummy and I chuckled out loud to know you ate that last morsel...too funny!

As for your clocks, they are beautiful, and I did read somewhere that collections in groups of three are best. So you are doing very well in displaying them according to all the right sources...

I'm glad you figured out your blogging woes. I had trouble posting pic's this morning and spell check is still ignoring me...I wonder what I spelled to offend???

Have a great day!

I love a big breakfast too. That french toast and bacon looks delicious. Love your third clock too, those are so pretty. I saw one at the thrift shop yesterday but the clock face was in upside down! Suppose that's why they gave it to the thrift?

Your breakfast food is making me hungry. That bacon looks like it is cooked just like I like it. Love your clocks, and what a great idea for salt and pepper shakers. You are so creative. Wish I had more imagination.

The clocks are lovely and I can see my Brandon pulling that little joke on me. Like you, I would do it in order to help him out. Grandkids, ha! Did he run? LOL

That breakfast looks SO delicious. I have not had a treat like that in a long time. I did eat bacon on our vacation so cannot indulge for a while. I limit myself on eating those types of things, but being brought up on the farm, they were our staples back then. I may have changed my lifestyle but don't have to like it. :-)

Those salt and pepper bottles look so vintage. I like them, but we don't get that kind of soda in Ontario. Wish we did.

Take care, my friend and stay cozy and warm this weekend. We are having a bad storm here. It's been snowing since 3am and is still snowing at almost 10:30pm. I am staying in and curling up with a good book when I'm not writing.

Blessings,
Mary

Creative idea with the salt and peper shakers. My aunt used to collect salt and pepper shakers. She had it all in a curio to display her collection. They were pretty cool. :)

Glad a blogger was able to help you with a glitch with the blog, photos no less.

Take care. :)
