WOW...."2008".....WOW

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE ! I am so excited to be starting a brand new year!

This is the January picture off my new Mackenzie-Childs 2008 calendar. If you will click on it, you can see the details of this lovely pattern.

I am going to use a picture off this calendar at the beginning of each new month...for those that don't have the calendar, I just want you to see how pretty it is.

Hubby and I stayed home on New Year's Eve. We had just had the nicest party with family and friends so we wanted to get in our pj's and take it easy......

It was a cold night so the first thing we did was build a nice, roaring fire. I love HUGH fires and burn way too much wood, probably....but, I do enjoy a good fire.

After choosing our favorite Blackberry Wine, we settled down for a nice, relaxing evening....

Sweet hubby cooked steaks out on the grill, with peppers and onions....ummmm....UM!!! Talk about tasty! And, of course, we still had some fudge left from Christmas, just in case we needed something sweet to get our digestive systems working!! :)

A little later, after our dinner settled and left a tad more room for something ELSE to eat...we had to have popcorn.

I mean, really....what's 4 movies without an endless supply of POPCORN and FUDGE????

We so enjoyed our nice, slow, relaxed night and of course, we did stop watching movies long enuf to WATCH THE BALL DROP in Times Square.

Seeing a new year in is a bittersweet experience for me. Sad on one hand to see an "old friend" move on but looking forward to the wonderfulness of new adventures, new goals, new friends.....but all the while knowing there's some things that NEVER change and for these, I am thankful.

*****************************

I leave you with a smile !! :)

And to say how very much I have enjoyed getting to know all of you. It is just flat wonderful to get so involved with so many lives and become so attached to people I will never see. I just love it and I love all of you!

HAPPIEST NEW YEAR, EVER!

Glad that you had a wonderful evening with your sweetie. Harvey and I had a glass of champagne when we got back home and watched a movie.

I am sure glad that I got to know you and who knows maybe some day we will actually get to "see" each other.

Oops forgot to say that I love the pattern on the dishes.

What a beautiful picture on your calendar. I can hardly wait until the first of everymonth to see a new picture. OH and your bird bath is soooo pretty. Gardening is my passion so anything that goes outside is woderful but I think it would of been pretty with the glass top as well.
BJ your camera works so nice the pictures are always so clear what kind is it. I miss placed mine somewhere in my home. Its funny because I don't have to much clutter in my house so it amazes me when I can't find something. So NO PITURES on my blog until I find it ( SO SAD )
I hope you have a wonderful New Years day. I just got my new issue of Cottage Living so I am off to go read in bed with my coffee.
Take care

BJ, First of all, happy belated birthday and may you enjoy many, many more. Your home looks so cozy and lovely and inviting. Sounds like you had a wonderful evening with your husband. Sam and I spent a quiet evening together, as well...we aren't party people. We sipped chamagne at midnight and welcomed 2008 together.
May God continue to richly bless you.

Hi BJ,

Sounds like you had a nice, quite New Year's Eve like we did. We just stayed home also.

I loved the thingie you posted where the man said the beer was to make her look pretty to him. That was so funny.

BJ, I feel so inadequate when it comes to blogging. There is so much I don't know and may never know whereas most of you have such interesting sites for me to visit. I don't know how to make mine interesting to others. How do I learn? Is there something at Best Buy that I can get to help me?

I appreciate you. I know you have a lot more online blogging friends than I do, but I hope you will come visit me occasionally.

Happy New Year to you and your family.

My Hubby's late grandmother used to make homemade blackberry wine. She would bring me a shot glass of it as she didn't own any fancy wine glasses. Boy it was good! I had a little bubbly myself at the cabin. It is great to share with friends!

I loved the movie Wild Hogs and laughed till my jaws ached when I saw it the first time! Did you know it is a mortal sin not to have popcorn with a movie...and fudge would be dandy to if you have it.

Have a great 2008!

Thank you, BJ, for stopping by my site with your encouraging words. Maybe you're right in that I may be expecting too much out of myself.

I've noticed some people have 30 or more comments left on their blogs for any one posting. It would be over whelming to try to get back to that many people to leave a comment on their sites.

I'm happy to have just met you, because of your Birthday.

My husband and I always spend New Year's Eve at home. With "bubbly" and yummies to eat. So much better idea, to us, than having to drive home from somewhere, in the wee hours of the first of the year.

May I say how pleased I was to find your Side Bar piece, about... "When those that ask "why" about this war, let them remember this day." I've had an {electric holiday} candle burning in one of our front windows, since 9/11.

Wishing you a Happy and Healthy New Year...
