CHRISTMAS HOOPLA

A CHRISTMAS HOOPLA

Sweet RHONDA over at farmhousestyle.blogspot.com just tagged me to do a CHRISTMAS HOOPLA....listed below are the rules:

1. List 12 random things about yourself that have to do with Christmas.
2. Please refer to it as a 'hoopla' and not the dreaded 'm'-word. I suppose that refers to the 'M'eme list.
3. You have to specifically tag people when you're done. None of this "if you're reading this, consider yourself tagged" stuff is allowed...then nobody ends up actually doing it. The number of people you tag is really up to you -- but the more, the merrier to get this 'hoopla' circulating through the blogosphere.
4. Please try and do it as quickly as possible.

****************************************************
Here I go:

1. My very all-time favorite Christmas movie is Miracle on 34th Street, the old, original one. (1947, I am thinking.)?

2. FROSTY, THE SNOWMAN was a HAVE*TO*WATCH movie for our children and myself. Every year, we would all cry when Frosty melted and jump for joy when he came back to life!
3. Better than any other Christmas decoration, I like Santas best!
4. I love all white Christmas lights better than colored ones. Someone told me once that RICH PEOPLE used all white lights and I've loved them ever since...and we have never, nor will we EVER, be rich!! Haha...

5. Christmas dishes are one of my favorite things.

6. I love faux Christmas trees. I like real ones, too, but I am still in awe of the perfect shape, never needs watering, no pine needles on the carpet, one time cost, fixed lights.....of a really good artificial tree.

7. One gift I remember the most as a little child is a whole box of Hershey candy bars and a whole box of Juicy Fruit Gum, given to me by my dad. This was in 1945 and anything sweet was such a treat. To have my very own box of both candy AND chewing gum was such an unbelievable gift.

8. I love the few ornaments I have left that my mother had on her Christmas trees.

9. One year we took our children on a much wanted snow skiing trip and none of us will ever forget it. We had so much fun.....

10. I love baking and making candy at Christmas time...especially with our grandchildren.
11.I save everything my grandchildren make to go on my Christmas tree and I still have several things my children made.

12. I love using Candy Canes for decorations. Their history make them seem like much more than "just" a piece of candy.

I love the original "Miracle on
34th Street," too! The best part: "Stop the car! Stop the car!" It still bowls me over to hear little Natalie Wood crying out those words. The newest version is darling, but there's just something about the innocence of the first one.
And Frosty! I love that little guy! (Hey, check your listings. I think he's on either tonight or tomorrow night--Tues. or Wed. at 8 on CBS!)
Wow, what a totally cool dad you had! Only a dad would give a whole box of chocolate bars and a whole box of gum for Christmas!
Have a wonderful holiday!

Good Morning BJ,
Did you have fun yesterday? I enjoyed visiting everyone that was on my blogroll that participated. Lots of beautiful decorations out in bloggyworld. I enjoyed reading your Hoopla. I've been tagged twice and I plan on doing it later today. I am having to think of 12 things. LOL. I would have to say that "Miracle on 34th Street" the original is my all time favorite show as well. I also have another one, but they don't show it anymore. It's the "Walton's Christmas Show". It's the one that got the Waltons started. I just loved that show. Hey BJ, if you don't mind, would you email me your recipe for your Sausage Balls? I have some homemade Sausage and am thinking of making some for Christmas Eve. I hope they aren't hard to fix. I like easy things. LOL. When you have time, stop by. I have a "Bodacious Award" waiting for you. I hope you enjoy it. Well, take care my friend and have a great Tuesday. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.
