I don't know what to do with it....

Hi, ya'll...I sure hope you had a fabulous weekend.
It was cooler here in West Texas this weekend but still NO RAIN.
We are thankful for the cooler temps, tho.
 My trumpet vines were just beautiful back when we were
getting a little rain every now and then....
Now that it hasn't rained in sometime, to speak of,
they are getting a little STRESSED looking and not blooming as much.
The vine hangs over the olden fence into our work area  and they
WERE looking quite nice....
Now they are looking SPARSE. !
THIS  is a project sitting on my work bench at the moment...
I bought it quite some time back, thinking how cute I could make 
this fairly unusual, THRIFTED  candelabra.
But then, after looking at it....
studying it....
dreaming about it...
I am not sure WHAT to do with it.
Any ideas ??
I sure would like to hear what YOU might try with this.

 I want to do SOMETHING to make it turn into THIS.......


or THIS.....

but ESPECIALLY this !!
I believe all the above came from POTTERY BARN....




I was waiting for ANOTHER,
much larger project to 
DRY....

...decided to go in the house and make myself a cold drink.
I figured I could THINK better
with a cold drink under my belt....
This is the  CRYSTAL LIGHT,
MARGARITA
drink.....
no alcohol...
no caffeine....
no sugar....
Our "go-to" drink for the summer.
I still have NO idea what to do with it
I am not one for hanging crystal drops from something....altho I surely have seen some pretty ones.
I don't have anything in my cottage that would be described as SHABBY CHIC.

I am not crazy about having a bunch of TAPERS...not my favorite.
I like bigger, meatier candles....
SOOO...
I'll just drink another one of these and hope 
INSPIRATION
kicks in before long.

 If I can come  up with a way to do this,
I could market it and make MILLIONS.....:)

    Can you hot glue coasters or small saucers to the top of those candleholders and then use them for your chunkier candles. You could even turn saucers upside down so you could see the design and then the little rim that is on the bottom of the saucer (which would no be turned up) would hold the chunky candles in place. That is just the first thing that came to my mind. xo Diana

    I like it. A lot. I think Diana's onto something. I like what you have better than the olive box option. Are you spraying it flat black next or shiny black or black anything? If you knew, right?

    BJ can you hot glue some metal costers that you spray painted to the taper holders.

    Or if you get very daring. Smooth the edges of the tops of small cans (the part you open and remove to pour out the contents. Spray paint those and glue them on. You could flute the edges if you wanted.

    Just thinking that this would continue the "thrift" idea.

    Well, BJ: Everybody else has a good idea going. That seems like the best thing, if you don't like the tapers. I've seen them done with saucers and t-cups and then use a votive candle in the cup. Put it on your patio and it would be so pretty..Happy Sunday..Judy. We used to have a trumpet vine when we lived in Santa Cruz and we called it 'killer'. It just kept going and going but the air is cooler and foggy there.

    Diana's idea is great...I was thinking of mason jars E6000'd on it...then you wouldn't have to worry about drips.... can't wait to see the finish project..

    BJ I'm wondering if it will stay white and will it be indoors or outside. With this TX heat I question using candles outside. I'm sure you wil make it look awesome.

    hmmm....I am not at all sure what I would do with it either, but I sure do like the looks of that drink. :)

    Diana's idea was my ftrst thought!
    Tapers drip all over the place, chunkier candles would be great! What about spraying the candelabra red, or bronze, or bright yellow. Something fun could be hung ourside over a table. Where will you use it?

    at the Everythings a Dollar store they have the fluted edge andles /3 to the pack-- they are just like whats on your sample photo that look like little pie tins.. so get a few packs- pop the candle in them out- glue them to your fixture and add candles the size you want..

    That candelier will look awesome under a gazebo or trellis. They sell short fat candles with smaller bottoms to fit in there. Have you seen those? I love trumpet vines. I like that they never die in the winter and then blooms are so abundant in the spring and early summer and they bloom sparsely all year round, cush pretty orange flowers too. I have them climbing in the front of our laundry room wall and the gazebo...

    No matter what you decide to do it will be lovely. Sometimes it is hard to be inspired when it is so hot outside...the beverage looks nice and refreshing.

    I so remember your German canisters and have admired them and have seen similar ones in antique shops - but couldn't afford them. I almost fainted when I saw these were only $20.

    BJ, there is a vendor at the flea market where we have our booth, who sells "candeliers." She takes old light fixtures and spay paints them a pretty color...like pink, blue, ivory, etc. Then like the first poster mentioned, she uses beautiful tea cups and saucers, and glues them where the lights should be. In other words, the saucer is holding the cup. Then she puts candles into each cup. These sell for BIG BUCKS, and they are so simple to make. There is one particular one that I love. The metal is spay-painted creamy white and she uses blue and white cups and saucers...Blue Willow would be nice. The combinations are endless. Her creations are used on the patio, screened-in porch, or even hanging from a tree in the backyard. I have several old light fixtures in my storage shed, waiting to be transformed into a "candelier." I know you will think of something wonderful for yours.

    I like Diana's idea...or saucers and cups. I have seen that and it is so cute! Mason jars...glass votive holders of some sort...but that Crystal Light sounds mighty delicious! Wish I could join you for a glass!
