Lemon and Rain...they just GO together

Hi, ya'll....

HEY...........WE GOT RAIN....!!!
O, it wasn't a whole LOT of rain...an inch, I think..
It was good, SLOW rain for most of the night...off and on...
and we have more in the forecast for today.....we are all so thankful, we don't know what to do.

As always....
rain makes me want to BAKE....

Aren't these little tiny muffins good- lookin'...!!

Little LEMON BITES.....

....start off with
BISQUICK COMPLETE biscuit mix....
1/2 cup WATER is all you need...

UNLESS....

you do like I do every once in awhile...

I put dough in greased MUFFIN TINS...regular size....

then, with the left-over dough,
I add SUGAR (sugar sub)
CINNAMON
and bake in the little tiny muffin tin.

(the one that makes such tiny little muffins, you think you've only had "a bite"
so you just have 3 more.....)

I have a little bowl of
POWDERED SUGAR and  LEMON JUICE ready.
I love lemon so I make mine VERY lemony.

I was sorry that I didn't have fresh lemons this morning to make this glaze.
AND....lemon zest would have been so pretty on top of the snow white glaze.

Sure glad I had the Real Lemon, tho...

I have two FAVORITE THINGS this morning...

RAIN.....

"Sunshine is delicious....rain is refreshing...wind braces us up...snow is exhilarating...
there is really no such thing as bad weather....only different kinds of GOOD weather."

and

LEMON......

"We are living in a world today where LEMONADE is made from artificial flavors
and FURNITURE POLISH is made from real lemons."

I love your saying about furniture polish and lemonade. We got some of that rain, too; but I didn't make any luscious muffins!! Take care. Sally

Biscuits look delicious! I had a friend who loved 'lemon' anything, and she made the best lemon curd. She passed away 2 summers ago, but whenever I eat anything lemony, I think of her.

Oh, my mouth is watering! You had a wonderful morning with the rain and muffins! I'm so grateful you got that much needed downpour!

I love quote at the bottom of your post about lemonade and furniture polish. We live in a crazy world!

I must try this mix bj ... Bob does the grocery shopping, so I have not discovered that mix. Will have to ask him to look for it or maybe I need to go shopping. Love a lemon glaze. I have two tiny Meyer lemons on my tree right now, hope the deer will leave them alone so they can mature. They ate all the lemons last year. Meyer lemons are so sweet.

So happy for your rain. Hope you get more.

That sounds like a great combo to me. We have some oppressive heat and humidity here...but need rain now. xo Diana

Loved that quote at the end about lemonade and furniture polish. I hadn't thought of that, but it's true!

I'm so glad you got some rain. We were in that drought right along with you for over five years. (I can't really remember exactly how long it lasted. It just seemed like we would never be green again. ) THIS YEAR, we are so waterlogged that it's a swamp around here. We keep reminding ourselves to be grateful for every single drop. I hope Texas has that "problem" soon too!

I am thrilled to read you got some rain. We had so much this summer, but I look at it as a blessing because we usually are in a draught.

And, lemon bites sound delicious.

Oh, those look so yummy!! I know what you mean about rain making you want to bake....so happy for you that you got that so needed rain to refresh the earth....we don't realize what a blessing it is until we don't have it...Love your quote at the end.....Yes, I think our world is a little upside down!! Have a wonderful day, maybe you will get some more. Blessings, Linda

Rain makes me want to bake, too. And baking makes me want to EAT! If this rain keeps up I'm going to need a diet plan. LOL And those look delicious!

You're so right, BJ. Rain and baking just go together. I love lemon too, and think that nothing makes a muffin or a loaf taste better than a little lemon glaze.

It does feel like an upside-down world often. Probably because it really is.

How wonderful for The Rain Gauge Gal to be getting some rain in TEXAS in JULY! Makes me grin.

Lemon anything...yummo. I'm not baking, though. It's hot and humid.

What a nice combination bj. I love lemon anything and I love rain too, especially at night when I am in bed. I made apple crisp today and we'll have it tonight with vanilla ice cream. Your little muffins looks so yummy!

The lemon muffins look great and with rain, WOW. We would love rain in CA, but that's not going to happen.
Thanks for the tip on the muffins.

Bj, wanting more rain here too. Last Tuesday we had a cloud burst like no other. A little too much at once. I love how everything looks and smells after it rains. And nothing smells better than a lemony smell of lovin from the oven. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
