...blueberries and Paula Deen

 Hi,  everyone...

I saw this BLUEBERRY CRUMBLE COFFEE CAKE at Walmart yesterday and it looked so good, I had to try it.

I was thinking..."I thought Walmart had dropped Paula" but I guess the items they have in stock won't be pulled from the shelves...

they just won't restock with her brand.

Seemed to me I needed a big container of
fresh blueberries to go along with this luscious sounding coffee cake...

"Good" isn't nearly strong enuf word to describe THIS coffee cake...

...just delicious...with plenty of  mouthwatering crumble on top...
and big pieces of blueberries all thru the cake.

O, I'm pretty sure SHE  doesn't make all these great-tasting cakes...
I doubt that her recipe is even used....

but she endorsed only EXCELLENT products and I surely am going to miss some of them....

especially this delicious BLUEBERRY CRUMBLE COFFEE CAKE.

.....hmmmm

do you think she'll be
BACK, in all her GLORY,
in time.....????

XOXO, bj

  1. That beautiful tribute made me cry.....such a tragedy.

I hope Paula finds her way again. It was a shame how she was ripped to shreds. Cake looks so good, BJ. xo

  2. I hope so, as I find everything so unfair what happened to Paula D. and how easily people can just rip someone to shreds!!! God blerss her. Big hugs,

  4. Yes, Paula will be back....I think that got way out of control...not saying she was totally right either though. She just needs to hold her head high, pray for strength and wisdom and start over again. She is so well known now, it won't take as long.

  7. Hope so.

These companies' knee-jerk reaction is dumb.

I never shop Walmart, maybe I will force myself to hop in and check if they have any of that. I love almost anything blueberry. Thanks for heads up - always need a little something for teatime!

  9. What a wonderful tribute -those men on the bridge. It puts a huge lump in my throat and tears in my eyes.
I think it is shameful what the media has done to Paula D. She is who she is and is not a bigot and I will never in this world believe she is a racist. She is just who she is- a Southerner born and bred and a little outspoken sometimes. Shame on those that have turned on her so quickly. I think the Bible says it best- Judge not lest ye be judged. xo Diana

  10. Hi BJ: Cake looks good and the tribute to the firefighter was just heart breaking. I think Paula will be back. Can't believe this happened to her. Everyone who has ever watched her must know that what comes out of her mouth is just plain sweet southern talkin and she doesn't mean a thing by it. Sometimes we all have to really think before we speak. I think she has a really good heart and I hope she will be back. Happy Sunday..Judy

  12. I guess we all have to savage what we can of paula deen stuff. Did anyone keep her?

  13. I hope she comes back bigger than ever and shows those critics a thing or two. What she said may not have been very nice but it was so long ago. Good grief! Someone was just out to get her, imo.

The measuring cups in your header photos are just so pretty!

  14. I love that first part about the overpasses and the fallen firefighter. That was beautiful and so sad.

As for the PD stuff, I have seen a small bit of it, but our Walmart removed the majority almost immediately. I read somewhere where the warehouses were re-packaging stuff under another name in some cases. Not sure how legal that is, but I guess anything is acceptable in this culture which picks and chooses whom to vilify based on their marching orders from the media.

  15. BJ, the tribute at the top of this post just brought tears to my eyes. The death of those firefighters just broke my heart. As for all the stores that dropped Paula Deen, I predict she will make a comeback. She shoul dnot have been punished so harshly for something that happened years and years ago.

  16. What happened with Paula is a national disgrace. I would like to purchase everything I can afford under the Paula Deen brand, including a saucepan and a cookbook. This is a classic case of how NO ONE could stand under that kind of rotten scrutiny. Who among us has not said a wrong thing at some point in our lives? Miserable, fouled, defiled culture that we now live in. I am truly appalled. Don't get me started! Thank you for this post and an opportunity to comment. If we don't start speaking up...

  17. I think she will be back and I have a feeling it will be something that be bigger than before! Not sure what it will be but I think - and hope - we haven't seen the last of her. The blueberry dessert looks delicious!

  18. Dear BJ, you do know I am having my morning cup of coffee, don't you? And, you do know I would love a slice of that, don't you?

I hope Paula can rebound from this mess. We all need to learn and move on with life. Why can't people remember to judge not lest you be judged?

  20. I am rooting for Paula. I am so sick and tired of the media and other bad people stirring up trouble, I could just croak. Well, I guess that 'I could just croak' came from my southern upbringing. Couldn't help it.

  22. I was so shocked when the network dropped Paula Deen. I am sure it is not because of a comment made so many years ago. I am sure she will be back in some form.

  23. I guess I am going to jail because I have said the N word. There was a little jingle the children used to say whilest jumping rope. Something to do with "a toe"..
We were what we were. We were products of our time and culture..as are all the different races. So kill me! Sheesh!!
There is always room for improvement and tolerance is needed FOR ALL, but I WILL protect myself if I think I am going to die..I WILL watch out for my neighborhood...so P- - - on them. Ticks me off, jb. Sorry..didn't mean to rant!!

  26. That blueberry crumble looks so good. Everything is quiet in Savannah, on the Paula story. Last week the case of the man attempting to blackmail her was bound over for prosecution. Seems everyone wants in on the bandwagon. In my opinion, that is what started this entire debacle. An employee attempted to extort her and she refused. I admire her and I hope she is using this quiet time to regroup and come out even stronger.
The Food Channel is losing many viewers over this.
My son has sent that memorial photo to me. It is so touching. We have lost too many fine young men in service to Americans. I honor them and pray for their families.
    Blessing, Ginger

  27. Paula Deen didn't do a thing that qualifies bad enough for her to receive the kick in the teeth that she received. Of course she'll be back, and most of America will love her again. Thanks for sharing.

    Happy Blue Monday, BJ.
