A house selling KIT.....????

Hi, everyone....
Hope things are good with you.
Well, with our house on the market for almost 4 months now,
WE COULD BE BETTER....!!
But, we are hanging in there...

I mean, what else can one do ??

Well, for ONE thing....
we COULD bury a tiny statue of SAINT JOSEPH,
upside down....
in our front yard....
by the seller sign.

I've had several comments and emails suggesting we try this method for selling this olden house.

OK, now...
first off....I'm not one bit superstitious....
NO SIR REE BOB...
not one bit.

BUT...................

after reading all these amazing testimonies,

have I got anything to lose .....???

will it offend anyone if I bury this little statue in my yard...??
(I would NEVER want to do that)

will it WORK...??
(of course...it MAY not work for me as I am not  a believer in such things...)

***********************************
" We had a very difficult time selling our house in 2000. It had already been on the market with two different Realtors for a year. Our new home was built and other people wanted this particular lot, frustrated we allowed the others to obtain it. We picked another home to be built. I prayed the St. Joseph’s Novena a few times. Then I heard about the St. Joseph’s Statue and sent my Son to buy it. Both my son and I stood at the For Sale sign and recited the prayer that was included. This was a Thursday. We had a yard sale that weekend, one of the people that stopped by decided that she liked our backyard so much, she bought
our house! Two days after we prayed and buried the statue by the For Sale sign! Meanwhile, the sale fell through on the original home we had selected so we were able to buy that one! Thank You St. Joseph!"

"When I was in high school, my parents had put the house on the market on a few different occasions, each time for about a year. The last time was my senior year, and this time, we had heard about the statue. Being the devout Catholics my parents are, we bought one immediately. My mother buried it in the front yard and exactly 20 days later the house sold! "

I can buy the HOUSE SELLER KIT
for $11.00 thru Amazon.....plus s/h.

Can you believe that they even offer this to buy ???

meee, either. :)

I just don't believe in such so I am pretty sure we won't be doing this...

however....how fun to think it MIGHT work. :))

Would tweaking our luck by doing this ritual help bring the buyer meant to have this olden, loved house??

I am too afraid of dishonoring St. Joseph....or am I too......ummmm.....UPTIGHT...??

After googling this subject a little further, I came up with the following:

  •   This is the most important part: pray
  • Pray for Saint Joe to intervene for you. You can find some written prayers for this part (some of which seem to threaten Joseph if he doesn't get to work!), but prayer from the heart, prayer that discusses your personal situation, is much, much better.

  •   Have faith.

  •   While some traditions say you should leave the statue in the ground after the sale, others say that once the house is sold, you dig up the statue and take it with you to the new home. That seems a much better idea to me. Seems friendlier, more honourable, and is a great reminder to yourself (and the people you will unquestionably show it to) of the power of your prayer, and the closeness of our friends in heaven.
Does this work? I have received follow-up email from people who tried it - and it worked! It has a great tradition, one that would not have continued if it didn't work.
And,
"it's really just a function of prayer....
and that ALWAYS works."

Sooo, I AM going to buy a little statue and bury it....
what have I got to lose .....???

ON THE LIGHT SIDE....
The following story about burying a St. Joseph
cracked me up sooo much.

I laughed for two days over that one...

hugs and kisses, bj
 be inspired
your gonna love it
tweak it tues...

I planted one on our last house and it sold in 2 weeks, during the end of the recession for what we wanted....it can't hurt! I actually found mine at a religious store....they have a kit!

Well bj ... this is the first I have heard about this practice ... praying YES ... but bury St.Joseph ? I don't think I would feel good about doing this, but maybe if I were desperate to sell my house, I might. As you say, might not hurt to try it.
Good luck, my friend.

Well BJ, i can't say for certain planting the St. Joseph statue helped, I mean we were praying anyway. But, once we got a statue, buried it per instructions and shifted our prayers to him, activity picked up and....our house is currently under contract with closing at the end of August! We got ours at a local religious store. It didn't hurt and we look forward to digging him up and sitting him at a place of honor in our new home :-) Good luck to you!

Oh, I don't know. I tend to believe there is a reason your home hasn't sold. Not sure what that would be..but they say there is a reason for everything. I would probably save my money. It's your call.

After my incident of the bead getting from one necklace..to another with NO opening on the loop of the bead..well..I probably would not nay say anything any more. I took that post down from my blog a few days ago for the very same reason you are concern about folk's reaction to burying a statue. The world is a awesome place..for sure. :)
Remember, the market isn't exactly booming..so.. :)
I will believe in St. Joseph and his ability to sell your home if you will believe that a bead disengaged itself from one necklace and hooked itself to the other one with ever coming in contact with it..AND closed tightly shut. :) We removed it with needle nose pliers..and re attached it back where it belonged. What the heck..take a chance. Bury the statue. :)

I think I'd give it a try, the only thing you'll be out is a little money for the statue... And at the very least it's something to talk about:@)

It worked for us! I now have the statue here, in the new home (which isn't so new anymore). Give it a try! :)

I've read of this before, there is power in prayer, I'm wondering if this would work with me trying to "hang" onto my home...? Maybe I should get one and pray for a miracle our way. best of luck to you and your sell and the move.

I have read on other blogs that cozy little house is lost in the cloud and is going back to blogger. Evidently having trouble getting it going but they said hang in there Brenda will be back. Good luck with the house. Ann

Give it a try. You've got nothing to lose and....it worked for us many years ago. The house sold in a week once the statue was buried.

Mom's house was on the market for 3 months when I suggested she buy one. She felt same as you, a little weirded out burying it but she went to the Catholic Church store in town and they said it was legitimate. The day after burying him she had a viewing. She has had more people through in the 2 weeks since burying him than in the 3 months prior. We are hoping for a sale any day now!

I say a prayer is the way to go but I will only pray to God...ask God to ask St Joseph to help you out. I'm sure he will if he can.

Ha! This is great! A friend of mine told me about this when she was selling her house-I'd never heard of it before!
(btw, her house did sell after being on the market a while :)

It works! I have devout Catholic friends that have used this with every house they've had to sell. They normally keep St. Joseph on their mantle...he jokingly tells the saint that they need the house to sell by ____ date and if it doesn't, he's going in the ground! :) Teasing!

It really is true and yes, by all means, pray.
