The Pink Scarf Project

The statistics are horrifying~~
It is estimated that over 230,000 women  were diagnosed with breast cancer during this past year. Ninety-five percent of these cases occurred in women 40 years of age and older. As horrid as those numbers are, they are an improvement over the previous year. And those numbers are an improvement over the year before -- thanks to increased awareness, better detection methods, and remarkable new treatments.

 Hello All...

I am participating in THE PINK SCARF Project and I hope YOU
will join in with hundreds of ladies helping to fight  BREAST CANCER.

This project is trying to put a beautiful, pink scarf,
HANDMADE or BOUGHT, around the neck of as many BRAVE women suffering from BREAST CANCER as they can...
....to let them know WE CARE.

"Pink Scarf Project."
Simply stated - it has only one goal~
To bring a smile to the face of a woman who is fighting her own battle with breast cancer.

It took me several months, looking off and on, for just the right yarn
to TRY to crochet a beautiful PINK SCARF to be given to a beautiful
woman, going thru the horrible ordeal of breast cancer.

This yarn is so soft and a little fluffy...
I think it will make a lovely scarf.

NOW, I am NOT a crocheter....
oh, I've made the GRANNY SQUARE afghans...3 or 4...
but it was 40 years ago.

I've never crocheted a SCARF....
but I surely am going to try !!

THE beautiful photo above is from VICKI'S site.

PLEASE click on her site and read about her awesome project.
Maybe you belong to a ladies group that would like to make a scarf...
a Sunday School group...
a Bunco group...
a Bible Study group...

If you would like to join us, we'd be sooo PROUD.

The guidelines for this project are simple--
just make or purchase a pink scarf
in any style or design that you wish
as long as it is predominately
PINK.

Think about the SMILE from a beautiful lady fighting for her life,
when she slips a pretty PINK SCARF around her neck....

knowing it was made or bought by another lady that
LOVES  her....
is PRAYING  for her....
is FIGHTING  for her.

Please think about joining in THE PINK SCARF PROJECT.

I will keep you up to date on MY contribution...
I just hope I can make it REALLY PRETTY.

I walked into our market yesterday and the very first thing I saw was this
BEAUTIFUL, PINK RIBBONED IVY....
and , right there, in the middle of the grocery store...
I FELL IN LUV  !!

I'm coming right along with the scarf....
and I am lovin' creating something that means so much.

A special address for these donations has been created~

What a sweet idea. I know of several women who have endured treatment for breast cancer. This would be a great encouragement.

What a great idea, bj. Being a cancer survivor I know that the women appreciate the love and care that goes into each scarf.

Oh bj, I love this idea. I'm on it. Breast cancer has been in our family several times. My Uncle's wife died of breast cancer. I hate cancer. My parents both died of cancer. Sigh!

Your scarf will be awesome. I will have to buy one. I am not talented in any kind of knitting or crocheting.

I posted you comment bj. Thank you for emailing me. It made me smile.

Wishing you a happy pink Sat. and weekend.
love from your sister friend,
Jeanne

So glad you posted about this today. I have planned to do one but have yet, like you, not found what I want to use. I had afghans to do for graduation and my thumbs are about out of socket. Gonna let them simmer down and make my pink scarf next. Yours is beautiful.
