Place Cards are for the BIRDS.....

 PIGEONS, that is....:))

Now, I ask you...
is THIS PLACE CARD not one of the cutest you've ever seen...??
OOO,
and notice the NAME on this card....

EXCUSE MEEEE while I FALL IN LOVE !!

This cute idea came from COUNTRY LIVING magazine...
boy, I just LOVE that magazine.

At the risk of being run out of Blogland on a rail,
I will take this time, ladies and gents,
to say that I've never, EVER used PLACE CARDS at our table.

But when I saw THESE CUTIES, I decided to make a couple.

I think they are just adorable...
and super, SUPER easy to make.

You can make these, too, if you'd like.

Go  to Country Living link and, using card stock paper, you can print two birds per page.

Cut out and fold in half as directed.

....using strips of paper 5/16" wide x 6" long, (I just eye-balled it)...
curl the ends around a pencil to get the curl you want...
Write the name you want, looping one end of the paper around the front leg
before sitting it on a plate.

They really are fun to make....

You could print up a stack, go ahead and cut your little strips of paper ahead of time...

Then, just before your dinner, you can write the names and
be ready for them all....
:>)

These really would be cute with a
centerpiece of  a
"nest under  glass" along with more bird nests...or little bird houses....or ......

lots of ideas come to mind.

I'm using my mother's CLEAR GLASS VINTAGE CAKE PLATES
for chargers....I love 'em.

All my PINK roses are spent right now....
in between the last and the next blooming session.
So, only a few Apricot roses left...

WE NEED RAIN....!!!

Who SEZ you can't use PLACE CARDS and VINTAGE CHARGERS
for a bowl of
APPLE JACKS....???

It was fun having a cute table for our breakfast of CEREAL...:))

hahhhaaa....LIFE IS GOOD.

  2. Too many people at our dinners to have place cards. Yet these are so cute that I will have to make some to use for other reasons such as gift tags or scrap booking. Thanks for sharing, have a sunny weekend.

  3. BJ, I love to use place cards, though I rarely have more than eight guests at my dinner table. I just love showing my guests that I've set a place just for them.
Thank you for sharing these cuties. Yes, they are one of the cutest I've seen. Definitely making these! Thanks for the heads up and the link, my friend. ~ Sarah

  14. Absolutely love it, BJ! And it was an optical illusion for me. It didn't straighten out in my mind until I saw the second photo. How weird is that! I was seeing the white with the postcard tucked behind it (like the reverse of what it was!) :-) Have a happy day.

  15. I did not see my name on one of the cute place cards. Course, if I were coming, I would find me a seat without a card at your table.
