Kathleen over at
SWEET KAT'S KITCHEN
had a SIMPLY SWEET COOKIE COOKBOOK published and decided to hold a SWEET GIVEAWAY
of one of them.
And I was sooo proud when
I WON.
Thanks so much, Kat.
...when I saw THIS one, I decided to make them..
I followed pretty close to the original recipe...
used IDEAL BROWN SUGAR sub...
used SUGAR FREE
CHO. CHIPS...
(hey, I didn't know until last yr that they even MADE sugar free chips)
instead of butterscotch chips, I used
TOFFEE BITS.
(and, of COURSE, they were NOT sugar free)
I made my cookies small because I needed a BUNCH of cookies...:))
yum yum....it's lookin' gooood
(its's a freakin' wonder that I didn't drop my camera right in the middle of this batter.)
(its's a freakin' wonder that I didn't drop my camera right in the middle of this batter.)
THIS STAGE of cookie making is when I start having to run MR. SWEET
right out of the kitchen 'cause he LUVS
raw cookie dough.
I do believe he could eat the whole bowl of cookie dough
and then I wouldn't have cookies to take to MY PEOPLE.
Yes, that's right....I HAVE PEOPLE...
Yes, that's right....I HAVE PEOPLE...
:>)
I do love our FellowShip brothers and sisters...!!
While the first batch of cookies baked,
I sliced ........
the FIRST
watermelon of the season....
...not as sweet as they will be a little later in the season,
but a little bit
sweet and juicy, just the same.
...cut into bite-size pieces....
we'll all enjoy this treat at Fellowship.

Not much in the world any better than
right-out-of-the-oven, HOT
CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
I guess CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES are the world's
most FAVORITE COOKIES...
however...
I also LOVE Sugar Cookies with a touch of Almond flavoring,
frosted with cream cheese frosting with almond flavoring...
I think I had 4 batches of cookies.....just the right amount to take to
MY PEOPLE........:))
Well, looks like I am gonna have to cut this post short...
I HAVE NOOO IDEA WHY...!!!!!

LOL- Could your stomach hurt because you ate toooo much cookie dough? I'm with you- I love a frosted sugar cookie- my favorite!! I don't eat them anymore though-I am off sugar and flour.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful day-, bj. xo Diana
Beeej! How are you and how is the new place coming along??? I will be right over for some of those cookies. Put the coffee on!!!
ReplyDeletexoxo
Ahh, BJ I spent the day in the kitchen as well. Made some pies, and a loaf of rye bread.
ReplyDeleteThose cookies look very eatable.
God bless.
Woo Hoo....two of my favorites...
ReplyDeletecookies and watermelon....and all in the same day!! What a great day..

Those cookies look sooo good. I cannot eat cookie dough, not even ice cream.
ReplyDeleteWell, it must be cookie making day. Yours look so good. My favorite is snicker doodles. I have a wonderful sugar cookie recipe that makes only 4 cookies per batch. You press them into cake pans. Then you ice and decorate the tops like you would a cake. Used to make about 70 of those at Christmas time when I was younger and gave them out to everyone! I stopped at 6 cookies and licking the bowl tonight. Good thing, or I would have turned green, too.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on winning the cookbook from Kat, bj! I know your cookies tasted wonderful and perfect with the watermelon.
ReplyDeletebj ... you just have to test them to be sure they are worth taking to your friends ... at least that would be my excuse to eat a few. Look so good.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Audrey Z.
I certainly must be one of your people. So...where's my cookie?♥
ReplyDeleteHi BJ. I am so glad that your cookies turned out well from my book. Thanks so much for doing a post. I never knew they had sugar free chocolate chips! You have a wonderful weekend and again thank you.
ReplyDeleteHi BJ... Just getting Farmgirl Friday up now! Come on back now, ya hear? :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, I've felt like that after baking cookies. I'm with Mr Sweet, give me that cookie dough!
ReplyDeleteLucky you winning again. The cookies look delicious. I will have to remember the sugar free chocolate chips. Have a blessed day and a great weekend. Madeline
ReplyDeleteDid you eat too many cookies? My tummy can not handle sorbitol, which is in many sugar free things. It makes me extremely ill.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great win! I love that Kathleen published her own cookbook. It reminds me that my mother always wanted to publish a cookbook on bars. I love making and eating bars. =D
What a fun cookbook! I love watermelon, too and that's how I get my sweets now! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteDon't eat cookie dough! It has raw eggs in it!
ReplyDeleteHope you didn't get a real bout of ..... well, food poisoning.
-sigh-
How funny bj. I would love to visit you and have a couple of those yummy cookies and a cup of our favorite DD coffee! You had a lucky day winning the giveaway, congratulations.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.

Just love this post... my most favorite cookies right here... Yep!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite food of all is warm chocolate chip cookies right from the oven (with nuts)! I'm having one of those stressful days where I am fighting the urge to bake a batch and eat them all. Your post did not help with that impulse I am fighting! I had no idea they made sugar free chips...how do they taste?
ReplyDeleteThose cookies look scrumptious! Yum! I'm with Mr. Sweet - I could eat the whole bowl of cookie dough! For some reason it's just as good (if not better) as the cookies themselves :)
ReplyDeleteNothing like fresh baked cookies! NOTHING! (well, maybe something...)
