A Birthday breakfast and SNOW

I would like to start this post with a huge
THANK YOU
for all the comments and emails and phone calls, wishing
Mr. Sweet a HAPPY BIRTHDAY and a HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to both of us.
We both were more than thrilled to hear from all of you and to know
that you are wishing us well.
THANK YOU !!

Hi, everyone....
BOY....
"if you don't like our West Texas weather right now, stick around another hour and it will change."

Last Sunday, our kids were swimming in their
new, heated pool...

The temp that day was very close to 90 degrees...

.....this morning, Wed. 10th,

 ...we awoke to SNOW...

Very very wet snow....and not much of it,
but with the temps in the low 20's,
we were freezing..

yep.....you are right....

we ARE sissies.

We are sorry for all the snow in Colorado...
"stay safe and warm, people."

We had a great
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
and
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY.

The most welcome MOISTURE from the snow made our
Celebration Breakfast just that much more blessed.

As nearly all my "pretties" are packed away, it took me a little bit to find something
PRETTY for our breakfast table.
AHHHH...the white LOVEBIRDS are always perfect..

....and how perfect for a 53rd Anniv. Breakfast
than
this pretty heart,
from my good friend, KATHY
at KATHY'S COTTAGE.

It looked so pretty on the table, Kathy.:>)

Do you think this centerpiece is good for a 53rd wedding anniversary breakfast..??

Mr. Sweet wanted cheesy scrambled eggs with his hash brown patty and Apple Fritter Bread...
I didn't want an egg...but I sure wanted my  fruit salad...!!

Our sweet daughter and her family brought over the BEST
TACO SOUP and all the trimmings.....
and a CHOCOLATE CAKE to write home about.
I have some great photos .....see ya tomorrow.

  2. I am so glad you guys had a wonderful celebration! Congratulations! I know what you mean. We are in Texas also and yesterday morning we woke up to 80 degrees, withing two hours we got a cold front and rain and the temperatures dropped down to 45. It caught me leaving the grocery store in my thin summer blouse and not even an umbrella. LOL Let me tell you, crazy weather.

  5. Sounds like you had a wonderful birthday and anniversary. And your breakfast looks pretty good too!

As for the weather, I agree, it's strange to be in the 80's one day and almost freezing here (Dallas area) the next. I walked outside yesterday morning to go to class and had to go back in for a coat, scarf, and umbrella.

  9. I'm glad you had a nice birthday! You definitely deserve one. And I hop the sun begins to shine and we get more of that swimming weather. I want to get my pool open - but we had sleet yesterday. Icy, cold sleet. I think we set a new record low. I hope my plants survive.

  12. bj, you Texas girls do get a mixed bag when it comes to weather. Ours is a lot like this but rarely do we get snow, just cold. What a wonderful way to celebrate with the lovely breakfast. Happy Anniversary and best wishes to Mr. Sweet for a Happy Birthday week......

  14. Happy Birthday and also Happy Anniversary! I aimed to comment yesterday, but I think that was about the time I got called away from the computer. I can see you all had a great time celebrating! That's wonderful!

Our weather in MO is a bit goofy right now, too. First it was very warm, then lots of rain, now it's too chilly. What's going on with Mother Nature? Enjoy your day!

  16. Your weather is crazy. We have snow tonight and tomorrow but we are used to it. I think we only hit the 90 degree mark a couple of times last year- xo Diana

  19. Your centerpieces are perfect for any occasion!
Hm, 53 years. You have much to be proud of. That is alot of compromising. I was wondering if it is legal to count all 3 of my marriages together to perhaps reach a 50th?

  20. Beautiful centerpiece for your Anniversary breakfast. Congratulation and may you have many more. Strange weather for April ... but that little snow is great for the moisture that you need.
    Blessing my friend.
