I am writing this on Friday night before our
FIRST OPEN HOUSE.
Our weather hasn't been very nice the last couple days and
TOMORROW it is supposed to be really WINDY.
When it's spring and WINDY in West Texas,
we nearly always have a SAND STORM.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that it won't blow....
NO one wants to get out during a sandstorm.
If anyone DOES come to LOOK,
we have things looking nice and
smelling sooo good.
I bought a large, BEAUTIFUL bouquet this evening,
planning to make several smaller bouquets to place throughout the house.
Well, HELLO......
ALL my vases, packed and moved ...
never fear...
a quick trip to the
SALVATION ARMY thrift store
(it's only 4 blocks from our house...:))
...the bottle in the middle....
I didn't notice it at the store but when I got home and
started washing the containers, I saw some writing on the back...
I couldn't get a good photo of the writing....
and when I Googled it
(you knew I WOULD),
I didn't find much on Price Booker but found that this bottle is one of their PICKLE bottles....
and the bottle (in perfect condition) I paid 19 cents for
check it out !!
ISN'T THAT CRAZY !!!
The photo on the left is from their site....and you can read it much better than mine.
I put some red geraniums in my wire shelf...
love 'em.
and THIS is so totally RANDOM ....
but because I want to
play in PINK SATURDAY,
I am showing my new jar of JERGENS FACE CREAM
that I have used for over 50 years....
and it's ALWAYS had this pretty
PINK TOP !!
Just mopped the kitchen floor and am having a cup of
POMEGRANATE TEA
and
TRYING to relax.
"O, i hope hope hope
someone comes to see our house tomorrow...."

ReplyDeleteOh, I so hope your house sells right away. It is a wonderful place that has had ton's of love, so there has to be a perfect couple there to buy it.

It's 8:00 our time so the big day hasn't started yet. I hope you don't have a wind storm, but if you do, I hope it blows a crowd in your direction anyway.
ReplyDeleteI know it all looks just picture perfect.
A pickle jar for $44! The people way back when who bought their pickles in that jar would be laughing their heads off wouldn't they? Praying that your open house is successful!

ReplyDeleteHi BJ, I popped over from Vee's. Love your thrift store finds. The other day I bought a piece of majolica for $3 as a photography prop and looked it up on ebay. Stuff me! $175!!! I almost felt like running it back and telling them they've made a mistake. What do you say that when we're really old we start making money off these finds. Lol.
ReplyDeleteWhen we moved to Lubbock, it was January. When spring came bringing the first dust storm, I thought the world was coming to an end!! Hope the wind blows in a buyer for your home.
ReplyDeleteBest,

ReplyDeleteBJ,
ReplyDeleteMy prayer, dear friend, is that God sends someone to your home during Open House who is seeking a refuse for their family...and that they are welcomed with open arms!!! That's how we came to purchase On Crooked Creek!!! "Mr. Ed" and I felt as we entered our home, Jesus wrapped his arms around us and whispered..."Welcome Home"!!!
Fondly,
Pat
Hoping your open house is a success and you get multiple offers!

I hope the weather cooperated for your open house. Great find in the bottle and I love the Jergens face cream, too. That and Fruit of the Earth vitamin E cream. I think it's made in Texas.
ReplyDeleteWhat a deal on the bottle and best of luck with the sell of your house. I need to get some Jergens to look as pretty as you!

ReplyDeleteBig Hugs,

Beautiful flowers for your Open House! I have my fingers and toes crossed for you to have a great one. I google just about everything too. Wow, who knew old pickle bottles would go for a small fortune. I’ll have to go through all my old bottles now. I remember that face creme, used it plenty. It was my mom’s favorite too. Hope you can relax now that the open house is over. If you have another one it won’t seem so stressful. Have a great week.
