~ The French sure know their way around the kitchen....

HELLO, EVERYBODY...
This is going to be one fine day and I am looking forward to jumping into it with BOTH FEET.

As most of you know,
BREAKFAST is my very favorite meal on the planet.

A really sweet COOK, MELISSA at Melissa's Cuisine
tempted me this very morning with this

WELL...she used some delicious FRENCH bread and I sure was wishing I had some...
but, not even in my freezer, which is unusual ...I nearly always have SOME kind of
really good bread in there.

OK....
just regular WHITE bread would have to work for me this morning....
and, CAN YOU BELIEVE,
NO STRAWBERRIES this day.

Blackberries and bananas were going to HAVE TO DO....
sounds like a good team, tho.

Needing SOMEthing to make these PLAIN JANE pieces of Frenchness
look a little more like......well.......FRENCH.
OUI  OUI.....
Gathering GREATNESS for toppings...

and, would you just look at my cute JUICE GLASS this morning...
a little vintage REGAL BEER glass and just PERFECT for my SUNNY D.

(and see my APPLE BOURBON GOOSE CREEK CANDLE
burning there, in the background....I am about to order another one, it's SOOO good.)

To make my homemade BLACKBERRY SYRUP ...
just a simple sugar mixture with a handful of Blackberries.

Boil GENTLY, mashing the berries with a fork or....whatever, until a tiny bit thick
(it only thickens from the mashed berries, I think)

and the color is a delightful deep hue of DELICIOUS...

...then you just have to decide WHICH topping you want....

It was waaay too hard to choose JUST ONE...
In fact, the only one I DIDN'T choose was BANANAS.
Not my favorite fruit but Mr. Sweet wants to marry them.

I think my FAVORITE way to eat FRENCH TOAST is with just the POWDERED SUGAR
but the flavored syrup is a really nice addition every now and then.

(I am using this photo for my TOP SHOT for Sunday....

St. Patrick's Day will be here in just a short time...

I just LOVE the color green and have never really decorated with it...
wonder why....?

 XOXOXOXO

Oh- That looks so good, bj. Just awesome. Now I am longing for just that. My mother always made French toast when we were sick-it was our first thing we ate when we started to feel better...just buttered though. I hope you had a wonderful day- glad you are feeling better- xo Diana

BJ, French toast is always my choice on a breakfast menu when we go out for breakfast. I like mine with just a touch of maple syrup and lots of powdered sugar.
No French bread in the freezer and no strawberries?
That doesn't sound like you, BJ. Of course you have been moving and dealing with that awful virus. Hope you are feeling better. '-)

You are really good at making plain old white bread look delicious. Love blackberries, but hate dealing with the seed. I love to make fresh strawberry syrup too. Your pictures are so beautiful. Thanks for making me hungry and it is time for bed so no snacks this late.
Hugs,
Audrey Z.
