A new way of life....

Hi, Everybody
I hope you are doing good..

Here's a few photos of our new home.
It looks rather sparse  right now without furniture and without PERSONALITY.
but, it is sooo nice.
TERRA COTTA colored walls...
except for my bedroom/setting room and Mr. Sweet and I just painted it in
NATURAL WICKER
and I am TOTALLY in love forever with the color.
*
I will show you more as we get THINGS moved in....
which will be awhile as we have to sell our house FIRST.
*
Hoping to get the house ready and on the market by the first of MARCH.
THEN....keeping our fingers crossed that it will sell ....
FOR THE PRICE we want very quickly.

A HUGE dining area with LOTS of wonderful windows....OR...
we MAY put a POOL TABLE
in this area......

and just outside those double french doors....

HOOOOLY  COW !
What a great view to look at while we are having breakfast...
I mean, even in WINTERTIME, this is a GREAT VIEW...!!
*
Imagine SUMMERTIME.....

glass-topped tables with bright colored umbrellas....
loungers with beach towels, FULL OF SUMMER COLOR
  sun screen (or sun enhancers)...
sweet tea and lemonade
fruit k-bobs...
ICE CREAM

and BEST OF ALL...
GRANDLOVES all over the place....
O HONEY

This is a pool/guest house at our son's home.
The square footage is larger than our Sweet Nothing's Cottage,
but is arranged  in quite a unique form.
There's
a media room...
2 bedrooms
kitchen
bath (another bath and laundry area will be added later)
3 car garage
(which we will use ONE).....the other 2 are RESERVED for a couple of grandgirls
that will be getting cars next year.   :>)

The pool is between the back of his house, shown above.....

and the back of
OUR NEW HOME......
which is the most generous gift in the whole wide world from our son,
David, and his family.

I can't find words to express how our hearts feel to know they want us close....
that they want things EASIER for us in our winter of life.

We'll  also be much closer to our daughter, Stacy and her family...
about 9 miles...
*
I haven't taken  a photo  of the front of the house yet....but I'll do it the next time I'm over there with my camera.
I'm so excited....

Such a beautiful  large pool and I haven't been swimming in like FOR. EV. AH.
......and I am scared to do it.....

But what scares me MORE is just the THOUGHT of even TRYING on a bathing suit.

You should NEVER use the words
BATHING SUIT and SEVENTY-FIVE YEARS OLD in the same sentence.  :>)
xoxo bj

I need a suit like these that
COVER !!

Oh I could jump up and down for you! This story is better than a novel! I'm sure that you can find a wonderful swimsuit so that you can get some pool time in. It would be a shame not to! Why do you have to sell the house first? Praying with you that someone snatches it right up. It's a little gem after all!

What a beautiful home. I love that it has a guest house. I have always loved those. Girl, get on a suit and get in that pool. You don't want to be 100, and say, why didn't I go swimming when I was 75!!

My heart pitter-pattered as I read your post this morning. Perfect solution for us aging 'grands' ... close to children, not too close as to interfere with their (and your) daily routines. I give a huge shout out to that son and d-i-l of yours. This is going to be great. Can't wait to see more photos.

Who would not want to provide for and be near a mama like you? Exciting times. Swimming is such good aerobic exercise and no wear on your joints. That is a win win.

Oh BJ! I don't know what I love more, the house or the story of how it is that you are coming to live there. What a wonderful boy you raised!! I will say, though, that in the few years that I have been reading this blog I can see why he would want you close. You have a wonderful spirit and a wonderful family love. I can just tell.

I'm going to enjoy reading about this great adventure. You inspire me so much and so often to look FORWARD and not always backward.
