Things are POPPIN'

Hello, Everyone..
My good blogging buddy, DIANA, did a post on making POPOVERS and it
reminded me of my times making these delightful treats...

THE MANY FACES OF POPOVERS...
Some are like little wells, to be filled with luscious jams, jellies, syrups and always... butter!

Some are tall and straight and full of light  tenderness insides, to be broken open,
filled with your choice of goodness...ummmm...like blueberries, strawberry freezer jam,
cream cheese and pecans...just to name a few.

I've just been dying to try my hand at making such a delicious, light, fluffy treat
for a mid-week BRUNCH or LUNCH
for Mr. Sweet and myself.
and....SO I DID.

OOO, aren't these adorable little things.....

Having no POPOVER PAN, I used my large muffin tin....
and they didn't stand TALL...
but made the most PERFECT little "well" to be filled with
WHATEVER our hearts desired.....
We DESIRED, for this batch,
 APRICOTS
O, ya'll...
these are sooo good.

Dried apricots. chopped into small pieces, covered with water, gently boil until fruit is tender,
add sugar to taste,
a capful of ALMOND
flavoring....
gently cook until thick.

Set a pretty little table
and with all that good food AND a pot full of your favorite COFFEE...
you will think you've died and
GONE TO HEAVEN...:)
mercy....this kind of breakfast brings us to our knees....
The second batch of POPOVERS I made rose a TINY bit....
and we ate them "all up" with my Strawberry Freezer Jam.

One of my friends said if you must use a MUFFIN TIN, to FILL EVERY OTHER ONE
so that the popovers will have room to rise better.

AND THEN....
the sweetest blogger came to my
POPOVER RESCUE
and sent me this amazing
Popover Pan.

Now, THAT'S what I'm talkin' about......

What a beauty... I am sooo impressed with my silly self...
♫♪♪
(well, OK...the wondrous pan and the fabulous recipe DID contribute to these
bloomin' beauties...:>)
THANK YOU SO MUCH, MICHLE
425 oven for EXACTLY 30 minutes...DO NOT PEEK.
They were perfectly PERFECT....
"I can bake a pretty popover, Billy boy, Billy boy"....♪♫

For these beauties,
it HAD to be LEMON, baby.
Do YOU love lemon as much as I do ..... ?

Hoping everyone is having a good day.
Invite your best friend over for coffee or tea and make her some POPOVERS...
you'll be so glad you did 'cause THEY ARE GOOOOOD.....:)

XOXO bj

DIANA is sick right now so would you kindly keep her in your prayers for a
fast and total recovery....and, if you have the time, stop over and leave her a loving comment to help her feel better.

  15. My oldest daughter, Summer, made the BEST popovers when she was a teenager. I gave my kids 'kitchen duty' when they were growing up and popovers was Summer's specialty!

I need to ask her to make some soon!

  19. Popovers are one of my favorites, and yours turned out perfectly. There is a place I go to on Cape Cod in Woods Hole. Love their popovers!

A sweet little story is one from my Mom. When she was first married she found a recipe for popovers but she had never had them before. When they came out of the oven, she thought she had done something wrong because they were empty inside. She threw them all away before my Dad could find out.

Thank you for showing that popover pan, now I will be on the hunt to find one.

  24. I love popovers, but haven't made them in years! Yours are so beautiful, and look delicious. I especially love them when they are made with drippings from a roast beef in the pan, and served with the beef and gravy. Oh.My.Goodness, they are soooo good! Served like that, they are called Yorkshire Pudding, but it is the same thing, and I adore them!
