Hello, dear hearts....
We woke up Christmas morning to a nice little SNOW....
just PERFECT for a PERFECT CHRISTMAS MORNING.
As is our FAMILY TRADITION,
Mr. Sweet and I go to visit both son and daughter's family...
it started years ago when the grands were all tiny.
We would go and see all the goodies SANTA left for each child
and have snacks at both houses.
We have kept the Visiting Tradition all these years and
I LOVE IT....
♥
So we gathered up the LEFT-OVERS of cake, cookies, pies
and made the most tasty
SAUSAGE CHEESE PUFFS
to snack on with cups of hot tea or coffee.
♥
1/2 pound sausage
1 1/2 cups biscuit/baking mix
2 cups shredded Cheddar Cheese (I used Extra Sharp)
6-7 Tablespoons Buttermilk
Crumble and cook sausage ..drain and
combine biscuit mix and cheese in large bowl...., stir in sausage.
Add buttermilk and toss with
a fork until just moistened.
Shape into 1-1/2 inch balls and place 2 in. apart on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake at 400 for 12-15 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
JUST DELICIOUS....
Just ONE of the delicious recipes from
PLAIN CHICKEN.
The closer we got to our son's home, the more snow we saw...just PERFECT for a PERFECT CHRISTMAS MORNING.

We know this snow is NOTHING compared to the snows being dumped in other parts of the country.
THIS was simply a DUSTING...
Son, DAVID KEITH's house looked so pretty with the white dusting...
and it looks like the wind blew part of his Christmas lights off the roof.
A warm, beautiful fire awaited us....
AND LOOK...
SANTA CLAUSE was there......
OH WAIT....that one....the BEAUTIFUL, SMILING one....ANDREA KEITH, one of the cute twins.
A sweet Granddad and LACEY JEAN
CATE, THE GREAT
Here's daughter*in*law, KATHY...Dave in the background, talkin' to CATE....
....isn't this the most fun and LARGEST wine glass you've ever seen ???
hahhaaa...I love it and won't it be cute filled with wine corks !
Two more beauties....
and Bailey got some awesome, fringed BOOTS.
♥ ♥ ♥
We put on our coats, our scarves, our toboggans and bid them all farewell
and headed 9 miles down the road to
daughter, STACY LEIGH'S house....
CHRISTMAS DAY, 2012
"On Down The Road"
....CONTINUED
tomorrow.....:)

LOVE TO ALL, bj

I'll bet the grandchildren wouldn't think it was Christmas without the two of you pulling up, in all kinds of weather. What sweet grandparents you are!
Awwww, a little dusting of Snow on Christmas day:) What a wonderful sight to see! Can't wait for the next post! (I made your pnut butter cookies again for our Christmas Eve celebration! I brought a few home and my hubby finished them off last night) Thanks for the recipe and for your friendship!
Awesome! Snow in Texas for Christmas and the kids and grands to visit. Could it get any better?
That sounds like such a wonderful tradition! You have a beautiful family! I LOVE that wine glass!!! I have some of my corks under a big glass cake plate and dome. I have dated special corks with event and date :) Looking forward to your next post!!!

Wow I had a pair of fringed boots like that when I was her age many moons ago. I just loved those boots, and we needed them here because we get more than a dusting. Your son's house looks really nice, BJ.
bj,
Great pics! What a huge wineglass! And I love the boots!
Also that pic of you on the road is a bit scary. Do be safe and continue to have a wonderful holiday!
Looks like a lovely, snowy morning! Now that is a WINE glass-yowzers!
You are lucky to have your children close where you can visit them on the holidays. Love that hugh wine glass and the fringed boots. We had snow flurries today but it did not last. Have a blessed evening. Madeline
You are so blessed to have your family close by. I know I love having 2 of my grands close. Looks like the road got a little whiter. We had lots of beautiful snow today. Slowed in now with a Level 2.
LOVE your pictures and your visit; anxious to find out how the next chapter went.

So sweet of you to keep a journal of your Christmas morning for us BJ. We do the same, except we only have one stop. I bring Cinnamon Cream Cake and they put on the coffee. We spoiled each other this year with wonderful, thoughtful gifts. Happy times (**

Hooray for some Christmas Snow! And lovely tradition of you visiting their homes. We never wanted to take 'grands' away from their toys on Christmas morning either.
One can have Christmas, any day which works out, for the people involved. :-)
Ohhhhhhhhhhh, I want one of those HUGE wine glasses!!!! So cute!!!!!
Looks like you had an awesome Christmas! I want all that snow!
I'm ready to start this tradition! :) We had homemade Chicken and Dumplings (our tradition) on Christmas day and it was wonderful.
I must tell you I don't think you look 75. More like 55. AMAZING!
Thank you for your kind words my friend about my surgery. I'm scared but trying to trust all will be well.
I'm still sooo moved by your love for Cee Kay. You have such a huge heart. God has blessed you.
Love, Rebecca
You are brave to go out in that snow. That would have shut down Houston. Merry Christmas!
No snow here, BJ, but it is cold. I know your family adores having you there for Christmas morning. What a sweet tradition. A little snow wouldn't stop you two!
Happy New Year...........Sarah
Wow, what a lovely home! Looks like everyone had a great time. That wine glass is so funny! I've never seen one that size before!
BJ,
Your son's home with the dusting of SNOW would make a "perfect" Christmas Card!!! Love that you still go to see all the things the grands get from Santa...Family Traditions are priceless!!!
Fondly,
Pat
You have a precious family, BJ! I'm so glad the snow didn't impede your Christmas Day trek. Thanks for sharing your photos. That's really as close to snow as I want to get.....lol!
Got a feeling there were a few nerves there knowing you two were out there on that highway!
