Holiday treats...a huge part of CHRISTMAS.
We all love CHRISTMAS COOKIES...
I made CHOCOLATE CHIP and
CHOCOLATE CHIP OATMEAL
today....
.....with ROSIE'S help,
of course....
We made tons....and have some already in the freezer...
and ingredients for MORE
tomorrow.
For family and friends...all packaged up pretty and a cute little tag.
The only problem with THAT plan is THE TAGS.
I don't know how to make tags....I barely know how to make COOKIES.
I will search for something on the blogs...surely SOMEone is telling us how to make cute tags.
My Christmas plates haven't been packed yet so, YAY, I could use
some of them to show off my cookies today.
...and see those adorable CUPS...
Vintage FIRE KING.....RED ROOSTERS.....RED and WHITE CHECKS.
I love them to pieces....and they fit right in with CHRISTMAS.
I ALSO love the lady that thought of me and sent them to SWEET NOTHINGS...
Thank you, again, Audrey.
I hope some of you will go by and visit with Audrey.
She always has the most wonderful things to show us.
I sniped a little CEDAR samples from next door...
CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIErecipe....
I've had the same one forever....I think I got it off the pkg of choc. chips...a looong time ago..
and you can add OATMEAL, even CRANBERRIES and of course,
PECANS.
If you have something else you add, would you tell us?.....
and
I always sprinkle just a tad bit of CINNAMON in almost ALL my cookies.
Jerry Seinfeld says when anyone says, "ummm, what's in this that makes it so good, they ALways say CINNAMON."
SUGAR COOKIES and CHERRY DELIGHTS
and not sure just what else....yet. :)

Oh- I am so jealous. I am waiting to get my oven fixed. They have ordered a part for it and it was installed and they put the wrong mother board in it. Who knew this oven had a mother board....certainly not THIS mother. Anyway, I am jealous.
And-Your cookies look good-AND-now I REALLY want to bake. The first ones I make are always my grandmother's ginger cream drop cookies with butter cream frosting with a walnut half on top...soooo good.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend- xo Diana
Oh, Sweet Lady, you always make me want to cook or bake what you are...you just have that way and I'm sure many agree! Thank goodness you saved the baking pans!
Thinking of you and hoping that your Christmas is going to be merry and bright!
XO,
Jane
Love those cute little mugs BJ! Another thing that's fun to add to chocolate chip cookies is freshly grated orange zest-yum:@)
Aaaah bj I love it when you have been baking and then share with us. My little mother and eldest daughter are the bakers in our family, I'm looking forward to a batch of shortbread from Mum for Christmas - I'm tempted to hide it so no-one else can have any, but I don't.
blessings,
Diana
Have you checked pinterest for tag ideas? Just searchg for tags and I'm sure you'll get some good ones! I love making biscotti for Christmas. Orange and walnut drizzled with chocolate:>)
No baking yet...though I did make those Santa hats from Bugles yesterday. It'll be a post all its own.
Good thinking not to pack up Christmas just yet. Save it for last! =D
Sometimes, if I want crunch, but someone can't have nuts, I toss Rice Krispies into my chocolate chip cookies.
Always fun to spend time in your kitchen baking with you. (Oh yes, there are tags galore out there. Have fun finding just what you want.)
Well, I'm just going to have to make those cookies today. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Deb
I have a Rosie too who lives with me at Christmas--isn't she adorable. I love those red checks cups, now thats festive. Cookies look wonderful. You will find plenty of tag ideas on Pinterest!!
Ann
Mmmmmmmm... Must stay away from these Cookie Posts! Must! Must! Must! Must! Must! -giggles-
I did send you my address...right...lol. Really they look delicious. Have a great day.
Cookies look yummy-- congrats for not over baking them! There are a TON of tag ideas out there! Cut index cards or file folders into a tag shape-- punch a hole on the top-- you have a tag! Add a sticker, glue on a bow and button, have kids draw a snowman, they don't have to be real time consuming! Good luck!
Hi bj, Sadly my sisters and I are not doing Christmas cookies this year. No time because of our river cruise. Sigh! When I see the fun you are having baking, I am feeling sad. BUT!!! not too sad because Europe here we come in five more days. Yippee.
Your cookies look divine and the dishes are so pretty and festive. 'No one' stages a photo like you do my dear sister friend. I need to cut a few greens from the forest next to our home. I don't think the animals will care.
Wishes for happy Christmas baking are sent to you today.
Love, Jeanne
Your cookies look delicious. I am getting ready to bake my gingerbread cookies after I get off the computer. I found a recipe so I can use the brown sugar you sent me its called brown sugar cookies. I will bake them after I get done with the gingerbread cookies. Have a blessed day. Madeline
I am in the baking mood now. Your cookies look delicious!
I want to go over and visit you for Christmas and say "What's in this?". Your cookies look yummy.
Yum yum. You're cookies look scrumptious.
If you want semi-homemade tags, buy stringed shipping tags at the office supply store and use stamps or dip in glitter. Easy peasy.
Your cookies look delish and I agree about the cinnamon! I am trying to keep sweets out of the house this year as the Mr is really working on his weight and the temptations are not so helpful. I am making some tags for the first time and it's fun!!! Hugs, Linda
Hey sweet friend, these look tooooo good,I'd have big problem getting these to family/friends cause I'd probable be eatn' toooo many.
Love your photo's,always!
Love to snip cedar from our trees and bring in,so we can enjoy the delightful smells also.
I also arranged several fresh cuts, what is that red berry bush called?..husband went to Mother's house and cut us several branches, and she gave us two bushes to replant here at our house.

I'll be right over for some of those cookies!!! Love the idea of adding a sprinkle of cinnamon on them too! I've got all my baking done, I made 11 kinds of cookies/squares...all are frozen in their cute Christmas tin cans and will be shared with family and friends:-) I didn't make any sugar cookies this year and now I'm starting to regret my decision!
Loved all your pictures, you have such a wonderful way of displaying your baking:-) xoxo

Love those vintage cups! Ack I was just looking at a site today that had free printables of tags and labels for Christmas but can't remember what it's called.
Cute post. I love the fire king cups. The cookies look yummy!
Hi BJ! I was just talking about baking cookies for some of the neighbors here in the new 'hood. Your chocolate chips look wonderful! What cookies do you think are the best to bake ahead a freeze?
You are so smart to get your cookie baking done early. I usually wait until the last day ... but only bake sugar cookies to give to the kids and grandsons. Glad you are still enjoying the Fireking mugs. They look so good with your Christmas. Thanks for the shoutout on Timeless Treasures. Christmas Blessings.

Sooo hard to say this but would you believe I think I am allergic to chocolate?? I know, I know! Me neither!! But it's true. Every single time I eat..even a bit my poor tummy gets the cramps and it's terrible. I won't go into details..
I was in denial for awhile but *deep and heavy sigh* I can no longer torture myself. I saw those wonderful cookies..and first thought was "Oh! I should bake a batch of those tomorrow.." and then I remembered! (turns walks slowly into the sunset..remembering the days of carefree eating SIX of those babies at a time!)
Looks like you have a great start on your Chridtmas preparations. I think that you're quite a bit ahead of me! Have a great holiday. Cherry Kay
LOVE those chippers, BJ...especially with oatmeal added! I love your idea of adding cinnamon, too! Happy Baking to you! (and Rosie is great!)
Great minds...you and I my chocolate chip cookies are next week's post.! your cookies look wonderful.
Rita
Hi BJ, wow what delicious looking goodies! Now you have put me in the mood for some baking, I haven't started any of mine yet..soon! It's been really warm here still in the southern CA desert, hard to get in the baking spirit..
Thank you so much for stopping by and saying hi, I so appreciate it!
Barb
BJ,
YuMMy!!!
Chocolate chip and oatmeal are two of my favorite cookies, too! My sugar cookie recipe isn't the one that you roll, cut and add icing, but they are the softest I have ever eaten and stay that way with a crunch on the bottom!!! Baking will begin later in the week here on Crooked Creek!!!First, I have stockings to attempt to make...wish me luck!
Fondly,
Pat
Yum! My husband's favorite is chocolate chip. He always requests them :) Cinnamon sounds good - I'll have to add that next time!
I loooove that red rooster cup!
Sweets for the sweet, and you, my dear friend, are the sweetest of all. Chocolate chip with oatmeal and pecans is a favorite of mine.
Happy Pink Saturday.♥
Now, where is my cookie?
