Aren't they lovely.....

 GOOD MORNING, LOVELY ONES.....
♥ ♥ ♥
PAPER SNOWFLAKES

Oh, my....

the most joy can come from the smallest things....

paper snowflakes....

we made them when I was little...and we made them when my kids were little....we made a few with the grands......and

then...I just kind of forgot them.

...and then, one of my favorite DIY blog owners, LAYLA of THE LETTERED COTTAGE
made these beautiful paper snowflakes and....
just take a look at her magnificent, simple, true classic
CHRISTMAS TREE.
I am sooo in love with this !

This reminds me of a beautiful tree during a lovely SNOWFALL.....
I look at it and can almost see the
manger....
the crib....
the Little Lord Jesus...

There's not too many Christmas trees that instantly remind me of the
birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.....
but THIS one does.
and MY tree is going to look JUST LIKE THIS
NEXT Christmas.
"I love it, Layla...you have a special gift about things like this."

She said just google PAPER SNOWFLAKE TEMPLATES...
....so, I did.

Isn't the above one just breathtakingly beautiful ?

Every single one I have made so far has been just beautiful

I had so much fun making these and
am going to make a lot more.
maybe my DEEDS will like making some...we can drink hot chocolate with MARSHMALLOWS
and eat
CHRISTMAS COOKIES
while we work. :)

Now, MY snowflakes came out a little creased in places so
I just IRONED them...

....they came out just about PERFECT.
Not nearly as perfect as the REAL THINGS...
I will NEVER get over the fact that each and every snowflake is different.

The wonders of GOD are all around us.
THE WONDERS OF GOD.

You should give making a few snowflakes  a try....
how adorable for a beautiful BANNER.....
not being very crafty myself,
I am always sooo thrilled when something I do turns out looking good.
Makes your ole spirit just feel good.....

even if it IS a kindergarten type craft. :))

who cares ? One of my favorite crafts is the construction paper chains.
When our twin grandgirls were little, we made SOOO many PAPER CHAINS, with different color paper and a
GLUE made from FLOUR and water.

And I knew all the time we were also MAKING MEMORIES.
There's just something about making an old fashioned ornament
that makes your tree take on a magical look....
or......is it just me ?

These pretty flakes aren't going to make MY tree nearly as pretty as LAYLA'S....

I've already decorated my little tree with my traditional and VINTAGE  ornaments.... and I've shown it to you...

but the flakes DO make my little tree prettier...

While this post IS NOT A COPYCAT....it is an INSPIRATION post and I am so glad I saw her beautiful tree with these lovely snowflakes.

It all just gave me a chance to add some "SPECIAL" to our little tree
for not ONE RED CENT.
Gotta love THAT....

and, see....how pretty they make a Christmas Tree....even a tiny one. :)

 ♫♪♪...let it snow
let it snow
let it snow.....♪♫♫

Beautiful! I am going to get the scissors snipping this morning with the Granddaughters:) Have a blessed day dear friend, HUGS!

Oh they do look great! I am fortunate that I never have to worry about following a template. I'm nearly as good at this as Buddy in "Elf." Not to blow my own horn or anything, but teaching school had many rewards. Your tree this year is gorgeous and the addition of the white snowflakes makes it pop.

BJ,
Oh, my these are lovely creations...SNOWflakes!!! They look so pure and whole on your tree. The memory of making them with family gives them even greater presence!!!
...and BJ...it SNOWed on the Prairie last night!!! Honest!!! I was up at 2 AM with the deck lights on and it was coming down to beat the Band Wagon!!! I smiled and said, "Thank you God for this precious present!"
Merry, Merry Christmas, dear friend!!!
Fondly,
Pat

Hi Bj Your post today has brought back so many memories of my childhood, during the years with my children and grandchildren. The snowflakes decorate the windows, the paper chains on the tree, we even strung popcorn to hang on our tree many moons ago. The ground is white, the wind is howling and I am home today. We have blizzard conditions here with so many accidents. Some areas in town are without lights. I am going to visit some of my friends and enjoy my day. Merry Christmas, Hugs and Prayers from your Missouri Friend.

I haven't made snowflakes in years, not since I had little girls in the house. I love this idea and think that when I have both daughters home this weekend, we should have a little mother/daughter snowflake making party. There is definitely room on our tree for something more. Love this idea!

(And thanks for sharing my words again earlier. First minute I've had to tell you.)

I made snowflakes as a child about 100 years ago. I had forgotten how pretty they are.

I never learned how to make those that didn't turn out into a square snowflake-lol. Your's look wonderful. Have a Merry Christmas BJ.

The snowflakes are sweet and so remind me of being a kid! Just shows that we don't have to have expensive decorations to make a tree beautiful.

Oh just sweet!

But that old idea that each snow flake is different, it's been found untrue. :-)

But anyway, all snow flakes are lovely. Real or paper. :-)

bj-It looks beautiful. I think it is so much fun to make those! Did you happen to see the promotion that is asking everyone to send one snowflake in an envelop to the PTA system in Sandy Hook? They want to open the new school they are going to be attending with thousands of snowflakes hanging from the ceilings. Hope you have a wonderful day- we have a blizzard here- xo Diana

Hi Bj,
What a wonderful snowflake project. Your tree looks just gorgeous. The snowflakes make it so special along with the memories you are making.
Thank you for reminding us, looking back on the simple treasured crafts of the past still bring magic to the season.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas my friend.

Such pretty snowflakes! I haven't made any of these since I was a little kid. I do love how Layla put them on her tree. Looks sophisticated and festive!

I'd love to make a banner out of these :)

I do not know how you find e time to do all you do. I wish I had some of energy and get and go. That sand storm is the most horrible sight I have seen. I would felt like I was smoothing. I was in one many years ago in Kermit, Texas, but it was nothing compared to this. We are freezing and blowing away here. However, I hardly move from the fire place.

Stacey said...

Yes those are very pretty. Looks like you might have a chance of snow in the next few days. :) I am going to miss that in our part of Texas. We always had plenty in Oklahoma.

I love it that all of my southern blogger friends display snowmen, snowflakes and snow. Snow at Christmas is beautiful but having it hang on into April and some snowflakes in May is too much. I want to come south too!

Sandra Lee said...

I have never experienced Christmas in the south and you make it look very inviting. Love the snowflakes and I will be back to see what other lovely things you create. Merry Christmas.
