I Love Banners.....

 Hello, everybody,
Our weather is still nice but not quite as nice as the last couple months have been.
We've been having blowing sand and wind....a staple out here in West Texas...but generally mostly in the Spring.
I'm packing and nesting, all at the same time....
and my nose is flat from running into my own behind.
AND...
planning for our annual THANKSGIVING LUNCH with our family....
sooo excited about it, too.
THEN...
CHRISTMASTIME is right around the corner....
whew....BUSY time of the year and don't we all LVE IT !!!
I know I LOVE IT.
After our AWESOME Bunco party, I had to take down the
adorable BUNCO banner.
I love that banner...
I'd like to have several banners made just the very same way.
The four seasons....?.....maybe
Happy Birthday
Merry Christmas
LOVE
any number of things, really.
 THIS
WINTER
banner is cute, too...
a fabulous replacement for the BUNCO banner.
I'm almost embarrassed  to say that I lost this banner for 2 solid years....
I really did...
I used it one winter, put it away for the year and FORGOT where I put it
I am sure NO one else has EVER done such a thing....:>)

 It's made of PAPER.....and STAMPS
Tina at CHERRY HILL COTTAGE has a sweet and talented daughter, MIKA,
and she makes these banners.
If you are interested in ordering one, go to TINA'S and she will put you in touch with MIKA.
TINA is also very talented in the Art of Decorating and if you've not been to her blog...
you are in for such a treat.

This adorable vintage sofa is one of her latest projects....and I am
pea green with envy.

Just take a look at that RED BEAUTY.

Tina has a simply ADORABLE house and you've just gotta go see it.

Now, let me see.......
shall I order a SPRING banner in bright, pretty colors for.......well.....SPRING...??
Yes, indeedy.....that is JUST what I am going to do.

...and, I like my banners hanging straight across instead of swooping a little...
but that's just me. :)

  1. I love banners as well. I bought one at the CL Fair in COlumbus. It is oil cloth, reds, blues green and chalkboard on the flip side.
I love what she did to that sofa.
No rues on swapping. You just send a gift to another person.

  2. BJ,
LOVE your W I N T E R Banner, dear friend!!! Told "Mr. Ed" I'd like to do that type of thing in the garden On Crooked Creek...we just need to design something a bit more weather resistant. In time, dear one, in time!!! Have a blessed Thanksgiving in your home with your loved ones around. Now, lets see...where did I put that ribbon for the front porch??? I'm off on a house hunt!!!
    Fondly,
    Pat

  3. Fabulous sofa makeover. I love your banners, BJ. That's one thing I need to make, I guess. I have put things away too well too that I can't find them.

  6. That IS a beautiful banner!!! I have 'lost' things in my time, too!! How wonderful when we FIND them!! Once when Amber was a little girl she couldn't find a ring we had given her. She wasn't the least bit upset - she said, "I didn't LOSE it!!! I just don't know where it IS!" Sure enough - she 'FOUND' it!!

  7. Your banners are perfect and so welcoming. Have you noticed that Tina hasn't been posting much? Between her and Kim at Daisy Cottage, I'm having withdrawals. Thank goodness you are so reliable. :)

  15. Every time I come to visit you I learn something new. Love your winter banner. As I hang my head down I have to admit I have never heard of a Bunco Party but it sounds like fun. If truth be told, I lost too many things to even try and find them anymore. Have a good week.

  16. Love that Winter banner!!!

And yes, I prefer the banner, straight across too. The swooped-down-in-middle kind of make me have to twist my head, to read 'em. -pout-

    Happy Thanksgiving, ahead of time...

  21. Yes, I've lost nearly everything I own. =)

    Mika does make wonderful banners...

Sorry to learn that you're having sandstorms...after watching the new Ken Burns' documentary on The Dust Bowl last night (and we'll watch again tonight), I can slightly imagine what one of those things is like.

  26. It brought tears to my eyes seeing you participating in a friend's party that still might not have electricity. What a wonderful Soul you are, My Dear.
I love Banners but somehow never get around to put on some... need to be inspired by you and have some - maybe for Spring.
Green of envy with that red sofá wonderfully done.
    Happy Thanksgiving!

  28. Well my dear, I already have those banners. I have the Springtime one and several others. Very simply made and so cute. Tina's couch is lovely and her home is a doll house. I remember getting a red and white checkered quilt I saw on Tina's blog from jcPenny's. I love it and I used it to cover the OLD couch that was here when I married PH. It has been such a handy quilt..and love the colors.
Mika is talented like her Mom. Both sweet ladies. Mika's baby girl must be HUGE by now. I must stop by and take a peek soon..
    Enjoy your banners. Tooo cute!
    Hugs,
    Mona
