Do you know the MUFFIN MAN ?

Did you see the episode of Seinfeld when Elaine wanted to start a muffin bakery, using only the TOPS of muffins? So funny.....
Seinfeld has been my very favorite comedy series since it first aired May 31, 1990.
I watch every single re-run and some I have seen so many times, I can say the dialog right along with them.
I love KRAMER so much, I'd marry him if he wasn't so SPORADIC
and had a better hairDOO...
...but, wait...
those are the silly things about him I LOVE..:>)
Marty of A STROLL THRU LIFE had a  post not too long ago about
these little inexpensive muffins.
Her's looked so good, I bought 4 packages of the muffin mix...
69 cents a package and they make 6 muffins per package..
ALL YOU ADD IS WATER...

well...altho the instructions don't ask for VANILLA, I always add one cap full, anyway.

I have used so many of my cute CUPCAKE LINERS, I need to go to MICHAELS and get some more packages for
one dollar each.

...a blogger told me the stores sometimes put these little packages on sale for
49 cents each....

if you find them for that price, buy all you want and store them in the freezer. They will stay fresh as they can be and are so handy to have on hand.

I store flour, corn meal, packaged mixes of all kinds in my freezer and have never, ever found those little mealy bugs in any of my staples.

Great idea to store muffin mix in the freezer. That way you can stay stocked up!

I've seen places selling muffin tops! They are the best part :)

Oh yes, I've seen a muffin top...at my waist! lol I certainly do remember that Seinfeld episode and like you, watched every episode when it was on and still enjoy watching the reruns. As for Kramer, the episode that still makes me almost pee in my pants from laughing so much is when he'd have seizures every time he'd hear Mary Hart's voice on tv! LOL

Your muffins look so delicious:-) xoxo

Yes, I do remember that episode and so many others. I still say, "Skidding in" which is a direct reference to Kramer. Funny how a series becomes such a part of the culture. (On the other hand, I don't watch any new sitcoms except for "The Middle.")

Your collection of muffin papers is so cheerful!

I love that episode of Seinfield when they are at the mall and they buy a tv and they forget where they parked in the deck. I could pee in my pants laughing at them. Your muffins are pretty. I am too tired to bake anything but wish I had one. xo, olive

Well, Iknew you were more than just a pretty face. Anyone that loves Seinfeld is a friend of mine. I go to bed with (er...watching) Kramer every night of the week. Love that show. I do remember the muffin episode. (that and the Nazi soup kitchen crack me up every time). Your muffins look wonderful.

If you get a chance pop by my blog and see SweetCheeks-she made the cover of a local magazine. xo Diana

Great idea to store the mix in the freezer. I love how you displayed your muffin papers. I seem to have an addiction to the things & am always buying them. I need to do that...thanks for the inspiration.

Oh My Goodness! I heard Jerry Seinfeld on the radio today! His comedy was always so clean and you really have to understand where he was coming from! His show was one of a kind too!
I am happy you won the giveaway wit I will get it in the mail soon. I have been selling lots of my Princess House and it is a bigger job than we realized when I started this! LOL!
But I will pack it nicely so it stays safe on its journey to Texas to you!

I never followed Seinfeld but I am not much a TV person. My kids loved it! I guess I have missed out on a lot of funny stuff!

I like an easy recipe that produces great results and I'm not above trying a mix. You get a lot of bang for your buck with this mix. They look really pretty, too!

Hope you are having a great week! :)

Jane

I'm such a muffin girl. I love to make them, and I love to eat them. I hadn't thought about keeping mix fresher by storing them in the freezer. I also never thought about jazzing them up with a little vanilla.

Well, who knew I could put these in the FREEZER!!!! Thanks, BJ! I rarely bake since Joe NEVER eats sweets and that would mean I would have to eat it all myself:) But, now that we have close neighbors, I can SHARE!!!! XO, Pinky

What a fun post and I learned something. I love those little mixes but they do get lost at the back of my cupboard and they don't keep forever, that's for sure. The freezer is a great idea!

Well, there's something I'm adding to my grocery list. I chuckled when you talked about adding vanilla--I do the same thing to most cake mixes--I think it improves the flavor, and it for sure doesn't hurt it. Maybe the vanilla flavor the factory put in has evaporated. I like the old comedies better than most of the new ones. The old ones were witty, not dirty.

I do know THE Muffin Man, I live with him. that is what we call dH. He makes wonderful muffins with fresh fruit.
When I did catering he would make dozens of them at a time. He doesn't share his recipe though, I don't even know it! i know he uses applesauce though, makes them nice and moist.
I know a store here that carries that brand. I'll let you know if I find them! Good item to donate to church for the T giving baskets.
Yours look delicious!
