Hello, everyone,
I belong to a BUNCO group with 11 of the BEST friends in the world. We have so much fun getting together once a month that, sometimes, we plan a lunch together during the time BETWEEN Bunco games.Now, I know a lot of Bunco groups meet in the evening and play until ten o'clock or so...
we, being the age we are....('scuse me, ladies...) prefer playing around one o'clock in the afternoon and being back home before the darkness settles in.

Well, this week, ( Nov.
14th) we will be gathering at my place... for a hot game of Bunco. Woo
Hoo..
Come hungry 'cause I have
some good food planned for us. AND...I promise
THERE WILL BE CHOCOLATE.

I'll have one TRIED AND
TRUE recipe and a couple of "Gosh, I hope this is goood" recipes to serve you
for lunch.

If anyone can't make it, be
sure to let me know so we can get a sub for you. (and. NO, that's not a SUB
SANDWICH).....
You DO know, don't you,
that if you are absent, it gives the rest of us the right to talk about
you....:)
Also, I know we'll need
subs for XXX and XXX. Can someone tell me who I might contact to
see if they will sub for these two ladies? I don't have a number for XXX....I
do have one for XXX.

My daughter, STACY LEIGH, ordered this adorable

and is letting me use it for our game this week.
When I started to string them on JUTE, I nearly panicked when I saw how hard
it was to get that little piece of jute thru the banner pieces...

Then, I remembered a trick my mom used to run elastic thru the waistbands of skirts
and pants...
I tried it and it worked like a CHARM....
You KNOW that MAMA knows best. :)
See how adorable it looks, gathered a little bit on the jute string and
added to the front of my
FALL MANTEL
in the dining room.
O...and I have some good foods going on for our game...
just can't wait....:))

I once subbed at a Bunco party, but never caught the bug. My Mom was a big bunco and bingo player, it really was such a big part of her social life as my Dad was very low key and just happy as a clam at home puttering around.
Your banner is gorgeous. I'd love to make a few for each season but I can't sew on a machine. I bet the girls will just be drooling over your pretty house. Please share the food you are making!

I love my Bunco group too. We do a progressive in the neighborhood for our December/Christmas Bunco and it is so much fun :-)
I used to play bingo years ago. I also golfed and went shopping with girlfriends. Then I opened my own business and life changed. Maybe it's time to have some fun again!

BJ, that looks like so much fun and hey, I think it's great that you play during the day! I played in the same Bunco group in Edmond for probably 15 years. Sure do miss those girls. We went through marriages, divorces, illnesses, and many babies together.

Ohhh, can I come, too??? I can be a sub. I have never played Bunco in my life, but I am a champ at eating chocolate, and that looks like sooo much fun!
Or you could get a bodkin for $1.99 and it would be the best little tool you've ever invested in for pulling strings, etc.
Your party sounds like so much fun. Hope that "gee I hope it turns out okay" food is great!

I have never played Bunco, but it sounds like fun. The banner looks terrific. When I did a lot of sewing for my girls I used a safety pin to pull the elastic through the band of their pants. Your group looks like a fun bunch of ladies. Have fun and have a blessed day. Madeline

Hi bj ... looks like you are in for a lot of laughs and good food. Wonderful looking bunch of Bunco friends.
