.....HAPPY HALLOWEEN TIME

HALLOWEEN is such a fun time.......

This has always been one of my favorite holidays...
I so enjoyed it as a kid.....then...with my kids...and now.....GRANDkids...

My mother and my AUNT LILLIAN always dressed me up as a gypsy woman...
A scarf around my long black hair, lots of eye makeup and lipstick..Oh, I was lovin' this at the age of 7 and 8....
lots of jewelry, long skirt.....I felt just beautiful.....
"The day is often associated with orange and black, and is strongly associated with symbols like the jack-o'-lantern. Halloween activities include trick-or-treating, wearing costumes, ghost tours, bonfires, costume parties, visiting haunted attractions, carving jack-o'-lanterns, pranking people, reading scary stories, and watching horror movies."
Yes, I always dressed as a GYPSY.....
BUT...FOR THIS PARTY....

......IT'S SUPERGIRL....with the shapely legs and tiny feet.....

MISS LUCY LOOSE is our guest of honor.
SHE has been a part of our family now for about 20 years and pretty
much stays in her room until somewhere around HALLOWEEN.
I had this party for her a few years back but thought my new friends might like to meet
LUCY LOOSE.

Come on it and join us before a nice, warm fire in the FRANKLIN wood burning stove...
We have our table right in front of the fire so you will stay warm...it turned a little bit chilly last night.
(well, for THIS day, anyway..a cold front blew thru and right on to somewhere else)

I've set the table in the grandest of HALLOWEEN magicalness....
NEVER, NEVER anything scary....OH, NO...NEVER SCARY !!
We like "fun and colorful"
for HALLOWEEN....

White, Pier 1 plates..
Golden yellow vintage flatware...
OH, here's MARSHMALLOW GHOST-WANNA-BE...
we're so glad you could come and join in this fun party, MARSH.....

MARSH chose a chair right in front of that roaring, comfy fire....
(o, dear...I hope he  won't be ROASTED...you know how marshmallows are)

and check out that ghostly smile....he is SO happy to be here...and warm!!
He is usually hanging around out on the front porch at this time of year...

EXCUSE ME, Miss Lucy....it is VERY impolite to
READ AT THE TABLE...
especially when there's a ghostly guest...
this IS a party, you know.
Even if you are reading a really great magazine..COUNTRY LIVING with some of the BEST Halloween recipes in it...
IT WILL HAVE TO WAIT....!!
My goodness, where ARE your manners ?
I hope you like the ceramic pumpkin I bought last year at WALGREEN...

AHHH HA!! I am so glad to see you put away the magazine and have made friends with MARSH....

So glad you stopped by...
Hope you will go to these other parties:

Well I'm so glad to meet Miss Loosy Loose and Marsh. They are wonderful Halloween members of your home. I think all the decorations are so festive and colorful. Orange is just about my favorite color and I use it everywhere in October. We are enjoying a beautiful fall here in Kansas. Your grandchildren so adorable all dressed up.

Thanks for your fast response. I couldn't imagine you moving away from your darling family. At least not too far away. Smile!

We never stayed in one place that long but I get it bj. What a huge job my dear sister friend. When we moved after 13 years from a very large home I would have laid on the floor and cried if it wasn't for my sister coming to help me. Get some help from those darling grands of yours.

Thanks for your sweet comment about my family. Yes indeed, our families our our blessings.

Love you and will be praying that your move goes as smoothly as possible. I will try and be patient to hear more soon.:)

xoxoxo, Jeanne

I always loved Halloween, and always dressed up. Sometimes still do! :-) I get so upset when folks try to make it into something bad and negative, when it really isn't. xo

Such a fabulous Halloween party and everything looks so festive and fun:-) Miss Loosy Loose and Marsh are adorable and really do make the perfect guests, don't they! Love the Halloween colours around your place, just perfect:-)

I remember dressing up as a gypsy or hobo when I was growing up, mom couldn't afford to buy us 5 kids store bought costumes so we always used what was around the house:-) xoxo

You make me smile.

Everything about this post and table and Lucy Loose and Marsh makes me smile.

I used to go as a gypsy too. My long blond hair didn't cut it so well, but I could rock a pair of big hoop earrings like no one else.

I loved your -not scary but fun- Halloween table.

Your posts always put a happy smile on my face. I have to tell you that I dressed up as a gypsy when I was little, too. I've even done it as I was older. It's such an easy, fun costume to put together.

First of all, my dear friend, thank you for the "Pink Ribbon"..for cancer awareness. You have been so supportive and it is SO appreciated.

Secondly..I LOVE that pumpkin..the white one. I don't have a single white pumpkin and I want one. Maybe it isn't too late. Think I will check out Walgreens.. prob'ly too late.

Your Halloween (Autumn) table is lovely, bj!
I notice you are backing a Political side. :) I just can't do it on my blog. I have so many friends from both sides of the aisle and love them all. It's an emotional election so am not commenting on any of that.

It will be over soon..and if we sidestep it, time will pass and things will be back to normal with Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Which...by the way..is rushing at us full steam! :)

I always LOVE my visits with you. One of the dearest people in blogland!
Hugs.

Hi bj ... cute post. Miss Loosy Loose and Marsh are so much fun. Marsh is my favorite. Never too old to play with toys or play house. You are great at doing both. Has not been cool enough here for a fire but today we got 1.25" of rain and it is cooler tonight. Loving it.
Happy week-end.
Hugs,
Audrey Z.
