Fluffing my NEST

Hi, ya'll.....
I tell ya, I have been NESTING so hard around Sweet Nothings
that I could grow wings at any moment.
I guess the change in seasons does that to a person...
Seems, even tho it's still hitting 100 degrees here on some days,
it's just time to take away the spring/summer look in our homes
and bring in some FALLNESS.
It looks like BURLAP is going to be strong again this fall and winter.

I'm glad 'cause I do love the look
of a pretty burlap piece.

I change my dining table dressing so often......do you ?

...a little burlap triangle
looks cute with our family C
on a tiny little handmade pillow...
Looks like all the FRENCHNESS is going to be with us thur the coming seasons.....
I'm thrlled 'cause I do love the LOOK.
Another decorating item that continues to reign,
.....THE ANTLER......
is just not my CUP OF TEA.

So many bloggers are using the antlers to decorate with but
I am having a hard time  DECORATING with them.
Maybe because they have been in my life for 50 years...
and I've never thought, for even one minute, that there was ANYthing pretty about them.
Mr. Sweet has always been a hunter.
Our shed out back has tons of antlers lying around.
But, THIS one is the biggest of all....ELK ANTLER and I want NOTHING to do with it.
I'll leave this to other decorators that can do a much better job using them than I EVER could.
I DID do a Christmas 'scape using it last year but it surely wasn't my favorite look.
:>)
NOW...
MR. SWEET says THIS kind of decorating is THE BEST KIND.....
hmmmmm.......he just may be right !
XOXOXOXO
bj

Hope you are enjoying building your NEST...full of FALLNESS.

I love burlap and always will...even if it goes out of style! I love your cute pillow, did you get it from an Etsy shop? You already inspired me to get that burlap runner from Sonya!

Have a great, cool evening, BJ!

Jane

Burlap actually has grown on me, the antlers, nope. Maybe cause I am a city girl and only see them still attached to the deer/antelope/elk heads in photos? haha Everything looks nice. xo

Well, I have to agree with Mr. Sweet on this one!

You are in nesting mode. I am, too. Oh, you just need to put several antlers together instead of just one, but I understand they aren't for everyone.

Hey BJ, I am also adding a little fall color to my nest. I agree with you about the burlap, it certainly is popular. As a matter of fact Hobby Lobby is selling three pieces of triangle shape burlap for $3.99. Why you can buy a whole yard of that material for that price. It lkind of makes you wonder, "Now why didn't I think of that?" LOL

Thank you for stopping by and leaving a sweet comment bj!

As for your OZ question... Australian slang. Australia is pronounced Ozstralia, so Oz or Ozzie for short, also Aussie is short for Australia, you can have it either way. The land of Oz. We like to shorten our words :) ~Pernilla

Fall truly is the time of year when we settle down in our nests for the long hibernation. The shorter days, cooler temps invite soups, stews, good books, a knitting project, etc. and I love your fall decorating. Makes it all so cozy.

I also noticed the quotation about being 'daddy's little girl.' It is so true, and I will never stop missing my dad.

The angel food cake and strawberries look scrumptious to me!

Your burlap is holding up well. My burlap bit the dust. I took it all apart last night. I'll not be putting it back together. Like the look, it just doesn't work at my dirty house. Now the antler...that's something that I might be able to bend my head around. I love all your decorating and nearly from scratch cooking.

No, I am not into the antlers either...but the burlap, that I like.

Beautiful decor as always BJ! I'm LOVIN the burlap with the "C"(GEE, I wonder why,hehe)...
I have to say though, I "DO" love the antlers...Of COURSE they are the SHED ONES ONLY! I am not a hunter and the only antlers I collect are the ones that are naturally shed by the big guys in the forest! I even have a MOOSE antler that I use as a serving tray. It weighs a "TON". I can't imagine HOW Mr Moose can hold his head up with TWO!
Thank you for showing us your "Nest Fluff". I always love a visit with you.
Have a fun week,
Big Hugs,
Donna

I like your decor! And I kind of agree about the antlers. I don't have a single spot in my home where an antler would look nice, but my son and his wife have antler things areound and they look cute at their place. Oc course - they have rustic decor. They're house is done in western type things with cowhide rugs and such.

Fluff away, my dear BJ. You always make great looks.

I'm not one for the antlers either.

You have such a good eye for the right style. I am so with you on the antlers. Also the heads with the antlers. I guess they are better than the stuffed ones but I don't care for them in any shape or form.

I have had my house decorated for fall since September lst. The last few days have felt like fall here. A little breezy but still warm enough to get my daily walk in outdoors. Your cake and stawberries look so good. Have a blessed day. Madeline

Hey Bj! Yes, Yes, fall is in the air! Yipie!!!!! I have seen a lot of burlap around the blogs lately. They just opened a Hobby Lobby in my area, and I have seen the pieces of burlap for sale in banner, and in small sheets. The dessert looks yummy!!
