Under Foot

I went on a little tiny thrifting trip....to only ONE thrift shop, last week and when I walked in the door,
I saw this
AWESOME BAMBOO 5X8 RUG, bound in BLACK.....

I almost went to my knees. I have been looking at these online and wanted one in the WORST way....
however, the price of one just did NOT make
SOCIAL SECURITY smile one single bit.
Sooo
my "want button" was put on hold for awhile..

Well...this thrifted one....FIVE BUCKS....$5.00....
I said, "Hey....wrap it up....I'll take it."

(this photo makes the wood look yellow but that's not the true color.......did you know that cameras lie sometimes?..........meee, either.)
Yesss, there were a few broken pieces....
a couple totally missing..
but YOU WONDERFUL BLOGGERS have taught me that just about ANYthing can be fixed.
You would be surprised how GREAT that brown PAINT PEN worked on some of these places.
....some of the stitching on the PERFECT black binding was coming loose
and allowing some of the teeny, tiny slats to work loose.
HOT GLUE GUN
to the rescue and it worked so good, I wanted to SING AND SHOUT.
 OOO HONEY....
it's just perfect for my tiny breakfast room....
it looks mighty fine with my black bistro set and all my baskets.
...did I mention that it was FIVE DOLLARS ??

While we are in the breakfast room,
let's take a look around.

That's my new shelf unit that I got with BIRTHDAY MONEY.... I sure am liking it...and those two drawers....?....
not a single thing in them.....yet.

The basket in the middle holds a few cookbooks.....
The large bottom basket holds my crock beverage dispenser....perfect fit.

Mr. Sweet and I don't use this little breakfast area much at all....

It IS used as a TABLE FOR TWO when we have our home fellowship dinner at Sweet Nothings.

I sometimes sit here and drink a cup of tea or coffee and glance thru a new catalog.....
I think the little thrifted rug goes just great in this tiny breakfast room with the
BISTRO SET......
Can you believe those polka dot cushions with the GIGANTIC white dots ?
meee, either....
I may have to switch those out with something a little more......uh......CHECKED.
:)
XOXO bj
 woo hoo....
