SPECIAL THINGS....just for you

A sight like THIS is very delightful on my breakfast table...
...... very SPECIAL

......extra bright and cheery way to start my day.

I am very sad to say that I have NO cutting flowers in my tiny gardens this summer...
I need to plant new ones for NEXT summer....but.....
super market flowers can bring sunshine into your day in a twinkle of an eye.....
SPECIAL.

...they were just marching across the breakfast table like a little
musical band...
♫♪♪..walking in the sunshine....sing a little sunshine song....♪♫♫
ROGER MILLER....1967

On this fine morning, breakfast is
CHEESY EGG AND BACON
FOLD OVER BURRITO ...

It never fails that I get mine waaaay too full to be able to roll it.

Half the time, a lot of goodness falls into my plate so I always have to have a FORK....:)

Love love love having a little fresh fruit with meals....

We live only a few blocks from Rosa's Tortilla Factory so we can run get warm, fresh out of the cooker flour tortillas. Sometimes, we get a half dozen, with honey and butter and just PIG OUT.
O, we bad !

ON THIS MORNING, we had scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, green onion tops, extra sharp cheddar cheese and really fresh flour tortilla.

I LOVE Louisiana Hot Sauce on just about any and every thing.

We both like POTATOES in our breakfast burrito.....and chopped Anaheim peppers really takes it over the top.
Mr. Sweet sometimes likes sausage in his...
meeee, too. Do you put anything extra special in YOUR burritos ? Tell me about it.

All these little tiny flowers......from one larger bunch...
now THAT is SPECIAL.
As they begin to lose leaves and such, I like breaking them up into smaller bunches.
....gives me another way to show off my little collection of tiny ironstone pitchers.

You know, I used to find
these little cute white
pitchers a lot....all of a
sudden, tho, it seems
like they have vanished off the face of the earth.
NOTE !!
This just in over the news wire...
CAS has left a new comment on your post "SPECIAL THINGS....just for you":

Oh yum, BJ, that sounds so good! Silly me, living in AZ, never thinks about burritos for breakfast -- well, I'm certainly thinkin' bout it now!
Your little white pitchers are so lovely. As for them disappearing, I'd check with Kim at Savvy Southern Style, she's been buying up white ironstone like a crazy lady.....lol!
Have a great day!
CAS

ARE you buying up all the white pitchers, KIM ?....are ya, hu ?
:>)

Having my favorite coffee, DUNKIN DONUTS, always makes me smile and sigh....
...just seems I can face the day on a little happier note, having a good meal
and COFFEE in the morningtime.
I know a lot of you don't have time in the mornings for a breakfast that you love.....
getting kids off to school and you off to work doesn't leave much time.
Hope you get to enjoy a delicious, just-what-you-want kind of breakfast
on your weekend mornings......♥♥♥

MAKE it a priority to enjoy at least one thing each morning
for breakfast...
a great yogurt...
a bakery doughnut
anything that you just love....it's such a great way to start your day.
And, you SO deserve it.

Some people don't like to use their dishes that are special...
like this little blue and white berry bowl from England.
Afraid they might break it, I guess....
I figure I'd rather break it than never use it.
Mom taught me as a child to USE and ENJOY the things you have...
otherwise, they just sit and gather dust and bring no one happiness.
Erma Bombeck urged us to use our SPECIAL things...to take the time to DO our SPECIAL things....she learned this after being told she didn't have long to live.
She wrote some really great things.....

This is just a part of her
"IF I HAD TO LIVE MY LIFE OVER"
Erma Bombeck
“… I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.
I would have talked less and listened more.
I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded.
I would have eaten the popcorn in the ‘good’ living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace. …
I would have sat on the lawn with my kids, even if it meant grass stains.”
* * * * *
But....
ONE of my favorites by her....♥♥

"I haven't trusted polls since I read that 62% of women had affairs during their lunch hour. I've never met a woman in my life who would give up lunch for sex."
Haaaahahahaaahahhaaa...don't you just LOVE that ! !

YA'LL........have a SASSY DAY.
AND KNOW THAT YOU ARE SPECIAL...
I LVE YOU.

All that white, is so precious. And I don't have a one! Simple white mugs. Soooo cooool. Soooo cool.

You'd rather use it and break it. Than never use it! Yes! Yes! Yes! What is the matter with us, hu? Saving the Best Things. Saving them for WHAT/WHEN???

"To the fairy land afar
Where the Little People are;
Where the clover tops are trees,
And the rain pools are the seas,
And the leaves like little ships
Sail about on tiny trips."

Red might be my favorite color, but my color of choice for flowers in the house is yellow! Can any color make you happier? I love your daisies in white containers!
Use it and break it? Yep, that works for me! As the saying goes, "you can't take it with you!"

That's a great quote. I think I won't be trusting any more polls, either.
And your table does look lovely. I have no cutting flowers in my garden, either - but next year I might just add some. Our supermarket flowers look pretty wilted in the store.

BJ, I agree. Life is about using and enjoying out things. Lord knows we have plenty of things here! When I've broken or lost something, it does make me a bit sad, but in the end, it is only a "thing". Great advice!
Love your happy yellow blooms. I have yellow flowers in the house right now too........Sarah

Your photos look great. The breakfast burrito looks great too! I just finished eating french toast made with Texas Toast and it was soooo good.

I agree use it. I use my Grandmother and my mothers dishes all the time. It reminds me of how special these two ladies were and how they too liked some of the finer things in life. Love me some homemade flour tortillas. Those tacos are making me hungry.

Oh, BJ, you are too funny. I love breakfast burritos, have a problem rolling them and need a fork, of course. I wish I could run to a tortilla factory! That is great. And I always loved and admired Erma Bombeck. Have a great week. xo

BJ, the white pitchers and yellow flowers are delightful this fine Sunday. Joe and I had scrambled eggs, Canadian bacon, and fresh home grown tomatoes for breakfast. It was lovely. When I worked for 25 years at the hospital as a RN I never had time for lunch much less THAT. Dear Lord. I ate some french fries in the elevator on occasion. hugs, olive

First of all....Erma Bombeck was brilliant!
I wish I'd known you when bacause I had a ton of creamers!!!!
I feel guilty cutting my flowers to bring them inside. And I totally agree that we should use our good stuff now. We are worthy and why let it go to waste.

Hey BJ,I enjoyed every word and slobbered over that burrito..you ask if we stick something different into our burritos, well yes I do!! we have wheat flour burritos all the time and I keep those little cans of "white chicken" in the pantry, just add a little shred cheese,so fast and easy, and taste great.Love these flowers, and I've noticed that you try and always have fresh fruit. And yep we got to have our hot sauce too!!

Cheery post from a happy lady... We had tortilla shells last night and I used leftover meatloaf (My Doublecheese Meatloaf recipe in my sidebar) in ours. Oh my! I think we're spoiled now. Neither of us thinks we can go back to crumbled hamburger again. Now I'd really like to try an egg and sausage one. Don't leave off the salsa and sour cream now!

BJ,
YuMMy!!! Oh, dear friend, I love having breakfast since retiring..without the rushing! I love your ironstone pitchers and I admit I bought two restaurant ironstone pitchers this last year. I think all the little pitchers are in the Kansas Antique Malls...but you all must have all the platters as they are extrememly scarce!!! Ha! Guess you'll just HAVE to come for a visit!
Fondly,
Pat
