...ever make DROP BISCUITS ?
This morning, I used the HEART HEALTHY Bisquick mix and BUTTERMILK
and DROPPED those biscuits right on that cookie sheet.
I always bake my biscuits in a CAST IRON SKILLET
but this morning....I used the cookie sheet.
No flouring the board...no rolling pin necessary.....
Less than 2 minutes of mixing them up and dropping them...
12 minutes in a 425 oven and you are
GOOD TO GO, BABY.

STRAWBERRY FREEZER JAM
last year.
Well, we have TWO jars left so I am going to buy a whole bunch of strawberries,
wash my FREEZER JARS really good
and make another batch.....probably this weekend, while STRAWBERRIES
are still good and a reasonable price.
If you want to try your hand at it....
just follow the SIMPLE, NO COOK recipe on the package of
NO COOK FREEZER JAM .
OOO, and you need to buy a little box of the FREEZER SAFE JARS.
Not expensive and, of course, you can use them over and over til the cows come home.

I would suspect that you MIGHT......MIGHT could use a sugar substitute
but I was too scared to try it.
I LIVE on sugar subs and every now and then.....
a body needs THE REAL THING.
The strawberries are so BIG nowdays....
when I was little ( a million years ago),
strawberries were tiny and so much flavor, it nearly blew your tongue out of your mouth.

I love this stuff.... ice crystals and all.
I can barely wait for it to thaw enuf to get a spoonful out of the jar.

thats what I had for supper fresh sliced strawberries in greek yogurt.
tasted great and made my tummy feel good too.

I've never heard of freezer jam but it sounds so easy, I think I have to give it a try. I like your photo editing too...I've never heard of photoscape either so I'll definitely check that out as well. Fun post BJ!

BJ -- I am TOTALLY addicted to strawberries right now. Had the most yummy smoothie this morning made with almond milk (to keep it low carb) and strawberries, a splash of cream and lots of ice -- YUMMO! Your freezer jam looks heavenly :)

I love strawberries too. That is such a good idea to make jam with them. I guess we rely too much on good ol Smuckers these days. Ha! I'm sure your homemade jam is much better too! I've tried my hand at making biscuits before, but failed miserably. I stick to Pillsbury frozen southern style biscuits. They taste better than anything I can make. Ha!

Yuuuuum yum! I have tried making jam with sugar substitute in the past and I can tell you, don't waste your time, it just doesn't work. We grew strawberries this spring and boy did they flower beautifully. Green berries hanging everywhere, we eyed them in anticipation. The ground squirrels methodically took a bite out of nearly every. singe. one. I think we got about a dozen berries between us:>{
Yes indeed I enjoy Bisquick drop biscuits, with fresh strawberry jam. I have never made freezer jam, but after ready this post, I think I might try them with next years crop. Our fresh strawberries have finished for the year.
I agree the ones that my grandmother grew on her farm were so sweet as well as small, and that was a million years ago for me, too!~smile~

BJ, That sounds so good. And yes, I love the convenience of drop biscuits.
I loved those small, sweet strawberries. Some of the ones we get now are almost bitter. Put enough of that sweet stuff on and they are delish.

I love freezer jam...I haven't made any in years. It has been so hot and dry here that our strawberry patches only had berries briefly. We have a big blueberry patch nearby, but I haven't heard a word about there being an yet (or at all) this year. We are parched in Illinois, the yard looks like shredded wheat!
Nice photos, sounds easy to do. However, I prefer strawberries whole and fresh, so maybe I could use another fruit for freezer jam? Enjoy the end of June~
