A day in our life....

Look how fast DEEDS is growing UP !
She's 10, the youngest of our 10 grandloves....
and having such a great summer.
How we love it when she comes over to spend the night.
She spent the night with us and we three had an early morning walk at the park.
I said, "Deeds, can you walk a mile ?"
She said, "Memaw, I can RUN a mile."
"OoOOO"
When we finished our glorious walk, we were hungry....
STARVED....
We called the mama and the sister and asked if they would meet us at
CRACKER BARREL for breakfast.
"YES"  was the answer
so we sit on the porch of the restaurant and played a game of
GIANT CHECKERS
while waiting for the other two ladies.
(in case you noticed the 'hair in the eyes" in my photos...the wind was blowin' ....
I generally don't have it hanging below my eyebrows... :))
A little sleepy yet but
as soon as they served our breakfast,
everyone perked up.
We had almost completely finished eating  before I thought about taking photos of the food.
We ALL should have had that YOGURT PARFAIT....it looked delish....
but, we caved and went for those fabulous BUTTERMILK  PANCAKES...
*shhhhh, don't let the DIET PATROL know we slid off the ole NO SUGAR thing.
and....
OH....
it was all sooo good...especially so with our sweet girls there with us.
P.S.  Mr. Sweet and I came back home and had an hour nap.
THAT'S OUR JOB....
Don't forget the giveaway of the RAMSIGN HOUSE NUMBERS SIGN...
Ends on the 25th........WINNER announced on the 26th.

Cracker Barrel! Yay. Love that place. Just took John there last weekend and we had a Southern meal that you would've been proud to know we'd ordered. It was pulled bbq pork on a fritter (pancake) with fries, cornbread (not sweet like I like it) and iced tea. It was really good. We'll go back some day. Plus it's just fun to poke around in the store or sit and play checkers. It gives me hope that Deeds, at ten, still enjoys hanging out with her grandparents. She's a real cutie!

What a lovely way to spend a morning. I love that you have your granddaughter spend the night with you - such good memories she will have as she gets older. Is there nothing better than breakfast at Cracker Barrel? I love their "eggs in a basket" and get them ever time. Glad I stopped by. Ann

You are such a wonderful grandma. The kind I want to be. Involved and there for my kids and grandkids. Sounds like a perfect morning to me. We love going out to breakfast. Hubby and I do that more than going out for dinner. I really want you to know how much I appreciate you taking the time to join the party. Have a wonderful week.

She really has grown up just in the time I have "known" you! Look at those legs...she is becoming a young woman and she is too darn cute! Cracker Barrel is our "I don't want to cook" go to place. It is just a hop skip from our house...too easy!
