MINE is growing very, VERY slowly.
When I planted this last year, I was told it was a
Dwarf FRENCH Geranium.
However, I can't find anything about them or even a photo on the net.
It seems to be growing tall, with
Geranium-looking leaves and tiny little
purple flowers.
There's little baby plants springing up all over my tiny garden.....
and
I don't care.
I think they are really pretty little things.
I've always loved English Ivy.
I think I'll start a few pots to use inside this summer...they look so pretty on a shelf or mantel, with their long little runners hanging off the side.
Green plants seem to soften things on mantels, bookshelves and tables....don't you think.?
ESPECIALLY live ones. :)

I'm just so happy to see them back again......
and I'll give them plenty of plant food and water
and maybe.....just maybe they will RISE and SHINE again...:)
I added plants to the window box and they are looking pretty good.
I sure hope they will grow and thrive and fill my box with nothing but beauty all summer long !
I am sure my geraniums will have to be moved to more sun....they won't bloom in the shade.
they are in pots but I plan to fill my box with good soil and plant them.
They are one of my favorite SHADE plants.
This window box is in shade all day until the setting sun...
then they get just a wee bit of sunlight.

growing fast...they are in pots but I plan to fill my box with good soil and plant them.

Sure hope it isn't TOO much sun...
I don't have a clue what this plant is but it is growing tentacles that are almost scaring me. :>)
So far, they all look HAPPY.
I am SOOO not a gardener so if ANYthing stays alive for any length of time.
it just shocks the heck out of me.
Ya'll may dream of ONE OF THESE tonight...
But I, after being on a STRICT diet all week long
Will definitely be dreaming of ONE OF THESE !!

Hey, ya'll......have a good rest of the week...
xoxoxo bj
You have some pretty plants here! Yes, the one does look like some sort of geranium by looking at the leaves. I suppose there are many different varieties. Way back when, I planted a few English ivy plants along all four corners of my house. Today the brick walls are covered with ivy. It even grows over the windows and we have to trim it!
ReplyDeleteYour window boxes look lovely. Our hostas come back every year. I'd love to have boxes but I could never get hubby to build or put some up. :(
You are doing so good with your diet. I broke down and had (a lot of) cornbread. I didn't realize it had flour in it!! lol! it was GOOD!
Hope you are having a good week!
XO,
Jane
Hi BJ!
ReplyDeleteI sure hope you get more rain than last year! Your little violets are sure tenacious little plants to have survived.
That kind of geranium is grown more for its leaves than it's little flowers. It's leaves may even be scented... like roses or lemons. It needs some sun, but out where you live it sure gets hot and may get a little too dry in full sun.
I am SO glad to see that you are finally having to restrict your penchant for all those wonderful goodies you are always making and tempting me with! lol.
Thanks for coming to my Bunny Hop Party!
xoxo Bunny Jean
BJ,
ReplyDeleteGo to the store and get a BLOOM BOOSTER plant food for your geraniums... Feed them every time you water and they'll BLOOM LIKE CRAZY! I use it for all my annual flowering plants... Don't overwater, geraniums do not like to be wet. I would think your climate is PERFECT!
You're off to a great start! Your window boxes are going to be gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't planted here yet as it is still too cool....but soon.
MMM LOVELY PICS... Ill go for Sean Connery:)
ReplyDeleteI really like your blog and will happily follow.
If you want some swedish decor inspiration, you can check out my blog:)
Have a great week.

The window box looks great BJ! I hope everything flourishes and you have a much milder summer with just the right amount of rain! As for dreaming... I'll take the biscuit too:@)
ReplyDeleteYour mystery plant is coralbells (heuchera). They come in a variety of different colors and they are wonderful plants. I too have been spending lots of time in my gardens, and it is feeding my soul!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Lisa
My garden is growing slowly as well.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do love ivy outside, inside, anywhere. I'm always so sad to see it get torn from the sides of cottages because it harms buildings and brick, but isn't it perfectly lovely when covering a great brick wall!
Hope that your diet is providing such good results that you are encouraged. We need to diet here as well...
Love Hostas too! They are absolutely my favorite! Your plants are looking beautiful! I would rather have a biscuit too:) Have a blessed day my friend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteLOL- At least YOUR dream is attainable!
ReplyDeleteYour window box looks lovely and I know how hard it must be to keep things up in your heat. I spent all day moving plants around yesterday...well...that and I finally got my BIKE painted! Polka dots!!! lol Knew you would love that!
Hope you have a great Wednesday- xo Diana
Hi bj, I think your garden grows just fine. The sweet geranium will give you lovely little flowers to enjoy. I love your English ivy, a favorite of mine too. Window boxes are lovely too. You crack me up over your dreams. Hope the diet is going well.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.

glad your gardening is nice and green (so far). we're heading into summer quicker than i'd like, but...
ReplyDeleteSame here. I'm sooooooo NOT a gardener. "Uncle A." is though, so that's good. ,-)
ReplyDeleteOh I like having your window box plants, in pots. Seems it would be so much less clean-up-come-autumn-time. (Hehhh, heh,heh... That's me too, always considering the EASIEST way to do anything.)
"A fine bunch of water lilies you turned out to be.
I'd like to see anybody make me wash,
if I didn't wanna."

Beautiful start to your garden BJ! Do a search on "pelargonium" for those french geraniums. If you go to images after the search comes up yu will find photos that look a lot like yours:>)
ReplyDeleteOur garden is about a month ahead of the usual, lilacs are beginning to bloom and they usually hold off until my birthday (3 weeks away). Unfortunately, we have had some hard freezes and my bleeding heart turned to mush and it has been damaging to some of these tender plants that got a head start in March with 70 degree temps.
Your flowers look nice and healthy. Love the plants in you window box. I have to transplant some of my hosta because they are getting to much sun and I know the shade is better for them. Have a blessed day. Madeline
ReplyDeleteMake like an ivy and hang in there! You can do it (:
ReplyDeletewoww great post good luck
ReplyDeleteHi BJ! You're garden looks to be coming along. The window boxes will be so pretty all filled in.
ReplyDeleteYour geranium actually looks to be a Mallow. Some are shrub-like and some are trees, which I have two of in my yard.
Hi Bj, love the anaology, but give me the southern biscuit too! Lol. Now have a little time to stop by to visit and say hello. Hubster is getting much better sinse surgery. Have a lovely day! Hugs
ReplyDeleteI don't have my pots OR window boxes planted yet but THIS WEEKEND they WILL get planted. In fact, maybe tomorrow! I thought you were referring to the caladium that you didn't know what it was. All your plants are so pretty, I can't wait to DO IT!!! XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteYour window box is looking wonderful. I also love hostas. I haven't planted yet since i'm going to be away until the end of May and can't water. I will agree that biscuit looks pretty darn good! Hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteYour purple and white flower is a
ReplyDeleteHollyhock. I use to have them they are pretty flowers.
Nagyon szépek a virágaid. Bizonyára örülnek neked. Imádom nézegetni őket. Kívánok sok jót.
ReplyDeleteZsóka
I'm so loving the spring and all my flowers starting to bloom. I really like your window box--hoping it gets all the sunshine and rain it needs. I love Ivy outsides too--love the way it fills in the blank spaces. Have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteAnn
Diet....ugh.
ReplyDeleteI am sure you all are succeeding with yours! Isn't is something how much we think about food?
