....THEY are the BESTEST kind.
A weekend with some grands.....3, to be exact.
10. 14 and almost 19....
they love a good breakfast.
(well, the 19 doesn't EAT breakfast until later in the day)
A GRAND LOVE BREAKFAST
started off with a Breakfast Casserole....without BREAD so this olden Memaw could eat it, too.
The regular things, Mozzarella cheese
onions
tomatoes
eggs...
Mixed and baked in a HEART SHAPE PAN.....
OF COURSE !!
....just as delicious as could be
even tho I am totally SICK. OF. EGGS.
on this South Beach Diet thing.....
*hang in there, Memaw...just a few days to go and you can have
MULTI GRAIN PANCAKES.....
with STRAWBERRIES....
YAY !!
Mama Stacy bought these beautiful apples before she left town
soooo..............
With all those beautiful, fresh, crisp and sweet apples, we HAD to mix up THE PERFECT FRUIT DIP..
remember the SOUR CREAM and BROWN SUGAR
delight ?
Just put a big ole spoonful of LIGHT Sour Cream into a bowl and add the luscious Brown Sugar until it tastes just perfect for your fruit.
O HONEY
Here it is.....all ready for GRANDS to dip their apples.
( I can't have fruit for another few days but.........
THEY SURELY COULD. :>)
A little later in the day, something
fresh from the oven was sure sounding like something they would like.
Stacy keeps her baking goods in this vintage, wooden apple crate I brought her once from Fredericksberg, Tx.
Not sure where she found the cute decal, baking supplies, but I'll ask her.
I found a can of BISCUITS in the fridge, sugar, cinnamon, butter and PECANS.....
.....sounding better BY THE MINUTE.
WOOOOO........
caramelized.....
sweet.....
tasty.....
and they ate them up in no time at all and
YES !
YES....I DID...
I DID eat one...JUST ONE...
and it didn't bring the world down, either.
but...shhhhhh,
Mr. Sweet doesn't know and he WON'T know iF YOU don't tell him.
BREAKFAST EGG CASSEROLE
FRESH APPLES AND PERFECT DIP
BISCUITS
CARAMEL PECAN BISCUITS
hot coffee and tea
and big glasses of COLD MILK....
Yep....they were satisfied.....and happy....
and so was I.
The thing I am really looking forward to after this first two weeks of the
SOUTH BEACH DIET...
FRESH FRUITS....
(and, well....
maybe
THE PERFECT DIP

you guys are so lucky to have each other!
you have a nice touch of love!
Everything looks dee-licious!! I'm not much for sugary rolls but then you add pecans to it and I'm there. Yummo! And love the egg dish.
Have a great week.

It's hard to cook up all that good, tasty food and then not eat it, isn't it? It's sure fun catering to the Grands! Yummy!

Glad you treated yourself to a biscuit BJ! I give you so much credit, my will power is not so good anymore:@)
Wow! What a great breakfast! No need for anyone to go hungry there :)
To answer your question, yes 'tea' is what we generally call the evening meal. Lunch (casual) or dinner (more formal) is in the middle of the day, depending on what it is. If we eat out in the evening it is dinner or 'going out for a meal'. I hope that's not too confusing :)

I bet that house was smelling SO tasty! I can hear the giggles as you keep baking more and more goodies! Great time spent with the grands:) NOTHING beats those special times making memories! Have a blessed day my friend, HUGS!
It's all great, but the thing that really *got* me was the use of the heart shaped pan for the casserole. I have a heart shaped pan. I never thought to do something like that. I *heart* that idea.
Oh my goodness! Everything looks so delicious. Lucky grandkids!
Sounds like special times... Take it easy coming back onto those carbs and fruits. =D
Those certainly sounded like some yummy treats! I remember that caramel biscuit dish from a gazillion years ago. It was in a small recipe/general directions booklet that came with our very first microwave back in 1977 or '78. Watching things cook in that microwave were more fun than watching TV.....lol!
I think you did a great "copycat" on the coffee photo. I like yours better!

How beautiful and yummy all at the same time! Lucky grandkids! Visiting from Cozy Home Party.
OHHH..YOOOO HOOO!! MR. SWEEEET! ... Just kidding! Just kidding! I would NEVER rat out a friend!
However...I did find myself moaning in agony at all that delicious food! I'm not on your diet..but after eating that entire cherry tart!!! YES! That VERY one..I am on the wagon! (sorta)
Every single one of my Grands are grown..yes. Grown and gone off to college or out there doing their thing. Looking for work..working or just wrapping up college.
What fun to have them all there with you to make breakfast for!! *sigh*
But...new babies are still coming..one due very soon. Isn't it wonderful having families??? :)
I'm sooo in love with mine!!
Hugs to you, bj!!

I'm going to concentrate on that precious vintage apple crate, in which Stacey keeps baking supplies. Just so coooool.
Great gift "BJ."
There! I didn't hardly think at all, about all the goooooodies. -giggggles-
Hang in there, BJ! You are doing great, even with all that temptation!
XO,
Jane
Nom, nom, nom. Happy RT2!
Mine's here.
Bj, Now I am craving those biscuits! Sounds like you had fun with the Grands.
Oh, you are killing me with those rolls. I am on my third week of Weight Watchers, trying to drop 15 pounds of "I eat too much good stuff on vacation and I've had too many vacations" weight, before my class reunion! I can have unlimited fruit and just itty bits of breads. The funny thing is that I'm not a big bread eater, but I'd like an entire loaf right now, homemade and dripping with butter and cheese!
Your grands must just love to come visit you for all sorts of reasons...but mostly because you are so much fun and because you love them so much!
Hang in there girlfriend! I know you can do it:>) Although why you torture yourself with those cinnamon rolls is beyond me. I have given up baking for a while. Working my way up tolow carbing it like you. I would have eaten more than one!
Oh my goodness, my tummy is rumbling right now!! This all sounds like a feast fit for a king - please come over right now with breakfast for ME!!
Sarahx
My goodness that looks sooo yummy!
My grand is good with pancakes for breakfast. However, those pecan rolls look pretty durn good! I'm thinking there is a can of biscuits in the fridge calling our name for breakfast in the morning.
Can I be your grand???PLEEEEASE???? I want some apples and dip, and buns and ANYTHING you fix. I feel for you on South Beach but hang in there. I admire your fortitude. XO, Pinky
Thank you for sharing your sweet time with your lucky grandchildren. You are always welcome at Your Cozy Home Party. You made some delicious looking food so you deserved that one little sweet treat. I won't tell!--- Shannon
"Breakfast later in the day..."
Say, around 1 or 2 p.m.? :)
Shriveled Red Cactus Fruit
Those cinnamon rolls look yummy. I'm sitting here scrolling down through your blog and its 4:30 am and my tummy is growling and there are your beautiful rolls with nuts all over them. I love nuts and sugar and the combination of them. My humble breakfast cannot compete with those.
Cindy
Awww, you're doing so well, BJ, on the diet. You sure did cook up a grand breakfast for the grands! Good luck and it's only a few more days...woo hoo!!
Oh it all looks amazing. I love the eggs and all the fruit. Wonderful. So fun to spend time with grands. Thanks tons for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
